    That's unrealistic considering there has never been a cure for a virus :roll:

    As I said, if we have plenty of testing and tracking, we can know pretty quickly if it hits a new city. Then we can lock down that city until the threat is gone. The rest of the country can remain open and life can return to normal. Don't depend on a good vaccine coming out as the chances of that are highly uncertain. We need to beat this virus using smart policies and return our lives back to normal.

    And locking down a city does what? Surely doesn't cure anything does it? So what's your point, hide forever and die of old age hiding from a virus?

    Locking down a city starves the virus of new hosts. Once it has been eradicated, or the sick have all been successfully quaratined, that city can gradually go back to normal. Say what you want about China's totalitarian measures, but it did show that the virus doesn't stand a chance when we don't give it a chance to spread, and that there is hope that life can go back to normal.

    ?? - why are you talking nonsense - Obama decreased the deficit every fiscal year in office.

    Obama walked into a 1.4 Trillion dollar deficit left to him by the previous administration - and left Trump roughly 500 Billion dollar deficit.

    Not easy to stimulate an economy while reducing the deficit - any idiot can increase economic activity by an increase to the deficit.

    And he spent 8 trillion to garner a 1.8% GDP.. Do you just cherry pick post or do like intelligent readers follow the entire conversation?

    You are the one cherry picking numbers and misrepresenting the meaning - and unfamiliar with basic finance.

    Revenue = X
    Spending = Y

    When Obama walked into office Spending was 1.4 Trillion dollars higher than Revenue. To decrease the deficit you must either increase Revenue - or Reduce spending. Revenue tends to increase year over year - so general practice is to maintain spending (or limit increases) - and the increased revenue will reduce the deficit.

    During Trump the economy was doing OK - not only did Trump spend the increase - on top of that he spent more - much more - resulting in a huge increase to the deficit.

    If you can't figure out that decreasing deficits is more difficult than increasing them - I can not help you further.

    Trump spent way more than Obama above revenue - what part of that do you not understand ?

    Did you think Presidents can wave a magic want - and reduce spending over last year ? Your understanding of financial math is lacking.

    Did Trump decrease spending above revenue or increase spending above revenue. Increased
    Did Obama decrease spending over revenue or increase spending above revenue. Decreased.

    Fact - deal with it - you are only going to dig yourself a deeper hole by trying to maintain this lost position.

    We got much more economy wise with Trump spending and all that is by the way side now with COVID-19. So just drop it, COVID changed everything or if you will created a plethora of excuses!

    You drop it .. you were the one that was presenting false information - and I was not including Covid in the previous Trump spending spree.

    I was talking "Prior" to covid. What we God from Trumps massive spending spree - was an increase in GDP from 2% to 3-3.5% for a short period of Time - roughly a year - due to a huge nitrous oxide injection of debt financed cash into the system. Then GDP dropped right back down to roughly 2% - despite Trump increasing the dosage of debt.

    And Yes - despite this complete lack of fiscal conservatism - I am still voting Trump in 2020.

    Get some objectivity - and a better argument than this one.

    Nope not false, he spent eight trillion and his eight years economic growth average was 1.8%.. Stop accusing me of falsifying what's common facts.

    Trump always has a chance of winning reelection. This is why it's very important for people to vote and voter suppression by Republicans to be successfully countered.

    Making sure illegals cannot vote is not "voter suppression".

    We have plenty of laws and protections in place to keep illegals from voting. Illegals voting is not a problem and never has been. But I expect you knew that.

    NEW POLL JUST IN 80% of Democrats would cry about anything only 5% of Republicans will
    65% of Democrats read only at an 8th grade level, 2% of Republicans
    82% of Democrats have a college degree yet still read at an 8th grade level
    70% of Republicans have a college degree yet 98% read at a Master degree level.
    100% of Democrats will believe anything CNN tells them, anything

    the list goes on

    Now send me that violation for picking on democrats.

    As the desert said to the grain of sand.
    Tell us:
    What laws and protections do we currently have in place to prevent illegal from voting that do not also disproportionally affect low-income and minority voters?

    You're all over the place. Are you saying Republicans have provided laws and protections that disproportionally affect low-income and minority voters?
