Socialist Seattle councilwoman: Overthrow ‘racist, sexist, violent, utterly bankrupt system of capitalism’

After the Seattle City Council approved a payroll tax on the city’s largest employers this week, one of the councilmembers appeared to threaten locally headquartered e-commerce giant Amazon -- while using fiery language to call for the "overthrow" of the "rotten" system of capitalism.

In a video posted on Twitter, a woman who has been identified as Seattle City Councilwoman Kshama Sawant, said Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos would be defeated if he tried to oppose what has become known as the “Amazon tax.”

“We are coming for you and your rotten system,” Sawant said. “We are coming to dismantle this deeply oppressive, racist, sexist, violent, utterly bankrupt system of capitalism

Its clear that they are no longer hiding their motivations about socialism. It used to be that the radical left identified the stigma associated with socialism in the mainstream, and though they supported the concepts and policies that were socialist in nature, they would hesitate calling their agenda socialism.

No more. They are doubling down and finally coming right out and saying it.

Does this ding bat council woman not realize that her city of seattle is competing against hundreds of other cities for Amazons business?

It would literally be financially simple for Amazon to move. Close seattle corporate and relocate. And they should. Immediately. Then what will she do? Target the next corporate entity until they leave? You can't fix stupid.

I blame Fox News and folks like Glenn Beck for the new acceptance of socialism. Republicans call everything socialism, so it’s taken the bite out of the term.

 

It's kinda funny because I just ran across THIS story about how a BLN leader in Vancouver says that reliability and punctuality are Oppressive White Colonial Constructs.

This basically is the current LW in a nutshell. Destroy any hope of being a success outside of working for the government, coincidentally a place where punctuality and reliability are not exactly hallmarks. Denigrating the work ethic seems to be a new tactic but appears to be working.

FDR saved capitalism. And reform of it created history's largest middle class here in America. And gave us social security. It still feeds old folks and helps not to burden their kids.

Its amazing to me that people claim that the economic system that most purely resembles capitalism, has resulted in one of the most wealthy countries the world has ever seen. And in a mere couple hundred years... is a failure.

The mental gymnastics it takes to arrive at that conclusion is astounding.

Its also mediocrity implemented for collective benefit while punishing individualist who can plan better.

The rates of return are awful, the program is liked to a ponzi scheme, and i would much rather have all my money to invest for my own retirement.

However, like so many collectivist agendas, I'm expected to accept mediocrity, and we all are held down by the lowest common denomenator and told its "for the best" and in the interest of our "social contract" nonsense.
