Well, we have a new definition for people who suggest that regular Americans are being unfair to the top money cheaters and liars!

They are now known as victims of "Wealth Envy", and the richest need to be sorry for them, America, while mainstream Americans actually pay their own taxes!

So the government is obviously allowing this to happen. How can it be made right?

Some of the national debt could be paid off if US corporations were taxed on the world-wide income. There are trillions of $ of untaxed income held off-shore, quite legally.

The effective tax rates then were hardly different than now, there were HUGE deductions and credits then no one paid a 90% effective tax rate. What we need to do is continue supply-side polices and grow the economy which resulted in record tax revenue increases and not just low deficits but even surpluses combined with the spending restraints in Republican budgets.

The amount of power our government has is in direct proportion to the amount of money they forcefully confiscate. Our politicians are known for their irresponsible spending and it is unreasonable to support giving them more. We are meant to look at the wealthy and resent them so that we become useful in our politicians efforts to gain more power.

If there was a penny of unpaid tax, IRS doesn't need to make any phone calls. They have the power to take it. Combined with the abuse of power by our elected officials, this monster has gotten way too big and we need to start going the other direction.

Reduce spending, and reduce taxes for all. Even the rich.

Nice try. We can try your way once everyone has paid what they owe. Right now, I pay what I owe, and sometimes it hurts. But that's the system. So let the wealthy pay what they owe and then we can overhaul the system - but not until they've paid what they owe.

They do not owe or the IRS would have it already. The wealthy already pay too much as it is. Politicians have no respect for your hard-earned tax dollar and spend like thieves with stolen credit cards. Their irresponsibility should not be rewarded with more money.

There wouldn't even BE a US economy 18 months after implementing a 100% tax rate, let alone one that maintained the current level of economic activity (GDP).

That sounds like a good way to turn US corporations into non-US corporations.

How would you rate the CBO's accuracy on predicting things?

David Cay Johnston wrote a good book called Perfectly Legal which tells the story of how the rich get away with murder when it comes to taxes, and it's all legal.

So the Congressional Budget office report is a fraud? They didn't find any unpaid taxes listed?

i thought herb it was all about people paying their fair share...sounds to me if 10 percent of the population is paying 80 percent of all income taxes many people aren’t paying their fair share. how many don’t even pay any??

While I am distrustful of anything coming from our government, I am certain they found money they can take from those who have it. They have a slogan:

We have what it takes to take what you have!

The vast majority of the nations wealth? The nation doesn't own that wealth, the wealthy do.

Secondly, wealth is created every day. It isnt static. They are just better at creating it than you are.

70% of all unpaid taxes.... because 38.4% are paid by this group.

Lol. Of course they would have the highest unpaid.. they pay most of it.

How about whatever they predict bet the opposite? They are good at collecting and reporting historical data but predicting the future they are LOUSY and that's giving them more credit than they should get.

So you have no problem with them getting free stuff, being taken away from your family and what you pay in?
