Daily riots and protests have entered a seventh consecutive week in Portland, Oregon, including a clash that lasted into Tuesday morning in which demonstrators and cops faced off for hours at a police union building in a north Portland neighborhood.

The confrontation, officially declared a riot by police, came on the 46th consecutive night of demonstrations in the city which authorities said have cost $23 million in damages and lost revenue to businesses in the downtown area.

Portland police said paint, ball bearing, glass bottles and bricks were hurled at police, resulting in five arrests.

Police repeatedly ordered the crowd to disperse and threatened to use tear gas, but ultimately did not.

You can't appease irrational people. It's past time for order.

This riot is going to go on until the weather gets cold or maybe even longer. The mayor is an idiot.

U.S. Marshal & Paramedic Assaulted At Portland Protests
PORTLAND, Ore. — Two men are facing charges for assault over this past weekend at protests in downtown Portland.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced that a man from Texas is charged in the assault of a U.S. Marshals Service deputy with a construction hammer outside the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse early Saturday morning. 23-year-old Jacob Michael Gaines has been living in an RV in Portland. He’s charged with assaulting a federal officer.

Portland's unrest continues for six straight weeks with no apparent end in sight
Local officials have criticized federal law enforcement and even President Trump for the havoc. Meanwhile, one group of anti-capitalist, anti-fascist teens who call themselves the Pacific Northwest Youth Liberation Front has used social media to organize throughout the city.

The Seattle Times reported the group uses social media to promote rallies, provide rioters with tactical advice and offer commentary on the gatherings that have led to clashes with police. Its goal is to upend the U.S. political system.

On an unverified Twitter page attributed to the group – which has amassed more than 21,000 flowers – shared a post on Monday that said: “The Feds and Portland Police are very quickly finding out that if they build a fortress and use literal siege tactics, the People will put their f—ing fortress under siege.”

Defiant Portland mayor tells feds to 'stay inside' or 'leave' city, asks DHS to clean up graffiti
Portland, Oregon, Mayor Ted Wheeler lashed out at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Twitter Tuesday, urging federal agents to “stay inside” or “leave” as the city faces its sixth-straight week of protests and unrest.

“I told the Acting Secretary that my biggest immediate concern is the violence federal officers brought to our streets in recent days, and the life-threatening tactics his agents use,” Wheeler wrote Tuesday evening. “We do not need or want their help.”

DHS deployed officers from multiple federal law enforcement agencies this month to protect government installations that include a courthouse and another building.

Demonstrations have taken place around the country hafter the May 25 death of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody. Four officers were fired and charged, including Derek Chauvin, who appeared in a video holding his knee on Floyd's neck for nearly nine minutes.

Meanwhile, city businesses have reported $23 million in losses due to looters and rioters – amid a coronavirus pandemic that is already causing massive economic damage.

Chaos has broken out in the city’s streets, frequently aimed at federal property as activists and some local leaders have objected to the presence of federal officers.

Over the weekend, a 23-year-old demonstrator allegedly struck a federal officer in the head with a hammer outside a courthouse. The demonstrator is accused of beating a hole into the building's door with the hammer before officers came outside. Then he struck the officer in the head and shoulder with the hammer before being taken into custody, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

“The best thing they can do is stay inside their building,” Wheeler wrote Tuesday. “Or leave Portland altogether.”

This isn't getting a lot of news play but from what I can tell, its compounding because the environment is nurturing to violence and radicals.
The leaders and elites are creating a system that includes:
Arrested violent protesters are set free quickly.
Police are not allowed the tools to control the crowds.
    Pandering to the criminals.

It won't stop is what I'm thinking and is going to turn worse.

Depends on what you define as the millenial cut off date. It appears to be 1996. So the youngest millenial is 24 years old. The rest is the Generation Z kids.
