A Michigan man who was refused service because he wouldn’t wear a mask in a convenience store stabbed an elderly customer before being shot dead by a female police officer.

Michigan State Police said Sean Ernest Ruis was killed Tuesday morning following a conflict that began when he entered a Quality Dairy store at 6:45 a.m. without a facial covering to protect other patrons. Ruis, 43, was refused service. He allegedly became involved in a dispute with a 77-year-old shopper as well, whom he stabbed.

Ruis allegedly fled the scene, but was stopped by an Eaton County police officer nearly half an hour later. Michigan State Police tweeted that Ruis exited his vehicle holding a knife, then approached the officer, who defended herself with a firearm. Video of the incident appears to show Ruis walking toward the officer’s car. The patrolwoman backs away, then opens fire.

I wonder what this guy's problem was, stabbing a shopper and then assaulting a cop for stopping him.

 

With more and more cities/businesses starting to mandate masks for entry I fear more violent reactions from belligerent anti-maskers. The "muh rights" "muh freedoms" "muh tyranny" crowd is going to be blamed as will ever police department refusing to enforce mandates and every elected official filing lawsuits to overturn them. Because the thing with taking moronic, emotion based ideological stances is it emboldens the nutjobs - be they BLM terrorist or anti-mask killer.

 

this is why I would not harass someone for not wearing a mask, too many crazy people in the world and you never know when it woudl be the wrong person and one that would kill you over something so stupid

 

Too much/too little of something would be my guess.

 

if a store requires one to wear a mask, just wear a mask for that short time you are in the store or go somewhere else, don't ruin your life over something so stupid

BS. No one is trying to infringe on a business owners right to require shirt, shoes, and a mask. Did you mock those who peacefully assembled to oppose abuse of power by law enforcement?

 

The only thing I can see is a racist police officer killing a white man, probably a white man that was thinking of going to college and never did nuthin to no one. Like George Floyds past, that stabbing was minutes ago, fuggetaboutit, When are we going to stop this systemic non racism that causes cops to hunt down white people? Well I cant really comment on this deep rephrasing of the point I made but I can say the 'war on masks' has been raging for some time now. And, yes, I do feel quite justified in mocking the BLM tools for a number of reasons not the least of which being the delusional self-righteous ideology powering their actions.

 

Very violent troublemaker killed dead. Very nice story. It's the way the story always should go. Who cares what the guys problem was, he deserved to be killed. Great day for civilization.

Large grocery chains are starting to mandate masks for all customers next week; Walmart, Sams, Kroger, Publix, and more to come. But who will enforce the new rules? That responsibility cannot reasonably fall to some teenage bag-boy or minimum wage door greeter, especially with the threat to property and safety that belligerent anti-mask extremists pose. Perhaps this is an idea for a new business: mask compliance security. Trained and possibly armed private security that retailers can hire to keep trespassing scum out.

This I agree with you on! I for one am not fully convinced they do any good, BUT out of respect for a store's policy I just wear the damn thing and get in and out quickly.

People really are going bonkers, on BOTH sides of this issue and it will unfortunately probably get worse.
