If there is anybody with even the slightest smidgen of rational thought left in them who is still in doubt, this should convince them of why they should not vote for Trump.

Kayleigh McEnany explained this administration's position on school opening. And so nobody says I'm taking it out of context, here is the whole quote, and then the video

McEnany: "The president has said unmistakably that he wants schools to open, I was just in the Oval talking to him about that, and when he says open, he means open and full, kids being able to attend each and every day at their school."

"The science should not stand in the way of this, and as Dr. Scott Atlas said — I thought this was a good quote — 'Of course we can do this. Everyone in the western world, our peer nations are doing this, we are the outlier here,'"

Really! She did say that! Here is the video. This is not an actor. Not an SNL skit. It's true. Look!

Ok. Now we can officially say that this administration cannot go any lower in their war against education, science and all things rational.

Because the only thing lower than this would be to start a science book burning, and an index of "Prohibited Reading" (Librorum Prohibitorum). I don't think Trump will do this but... he's close.

The "science" that the left is quoting is really not undisputed science.

Two top doctors, Anthony Fauci and Peter Navarro, disagree on this.

Fauci is narrow minded in his field.

Navarro had international exposure. He was in Sao Paolo sipping a Venti cup in the rain before it was cool.

She didn't say "science the left is quoting". She said science.

Of course, that wearing masks and social distancing is indispensable is not "disputed science".

Of the two "top doctors", only one is a MEDICAL doctor. But it doesn't surprise me that a Trump loyalist would consult with an economist the next time they need surgery, if they believed that "pleased" the idol.

In any case, the OP states this is directed at "anybody with even the slightest smidgen of rational thought left in them who is still in doubt". But thanks anyway...

Navarro learned from Christ the ultimate healer. He was in front of Cristo Redentor with an umbrella in one hand and a unicorn frappuccino in the other.

She clearly says the science supports opening. Poor word choice and phrasing? Yes. Support for following science? Yes.

To the left it is. After the debacle of spreading the virus by putting millions on the street over the course of over a month, I am flabbergasted that they have the audacity to say a damn thing about anything. They are DIRECTLY and PROVABLY responsible for this flare up and they did it for the express purpose of shutting down the economy. The Democrats who allowed this madness should be tried for treason and imprisoned. The economic devastation wrought by their malign morals will run in the trillions.

The science says that kids who are exposed to natural pathogens develop stronger immune systems.

The science says that zero kids 0-17 died from Coronavirus.

The one thing I will give her is that she did seem to mean “we can use science to solve this, the science is on our side.”

That being said, she didn’t say that. So she sounds dumb. What a Karen. Seriously the science is not on her side. Lots of people are going to die for nothing.

At this point, I am not convinced it makes much difference whether they are medical doctors or not. Generally, a medical doctor diagnoses and treats. Neither of those are directly part of the problem.

One of the goals at this point is to slow the spread of the virus. Earlier, there was much discussion on how long a virus would live on various surfaces. We hardly hear anything about that anymore because apparently the virus is spread as an aerosol in the air more than on surfaces and we can generally clean surfaces. It has come down how best to stop the virus spreading as an aerosol. That is not generally part of a medical doctor's area of expertise.

Certainly, the medical doctor's expertise is required, but once he states his opinion, it is up to other people who more thoroughly understand how that aerosol is spread to come up with the ideas. It might be more of a HVAC problem than a medical problem.

The problem with putting a medical doctor in charge is the old "To a hammer, the world is a nail" syndrome. Opening schools is a bigger issue than simply preventing the disease. Civilization has to survive while we are waiting on a cure. First of all, we need to get our young people back in school so they will be educated enough to handle such emergencies in the future. Secondly, many parents depend on the schools to be baby sitters while they work. If they don't have the "baby sitters", they can't go to work which impacts all of us. There are no good answers. Only less bad answers.

I am almost 83 and am among the most vulnerable.. There are a number of medicines which I depend on which are getting very difficult to obtain. There are alternatives, but those alternatives can only be determined by a medical doctor and my doctor is limiting his practice because of the virus. Rather than me going to the doctor, I correspond back and forth through a patient portal. It works marginally, but not as well as a face to face examination by my doctor.

Unfortunately, there are no easy solutions, only compromises under much less than ideal conditions.

Got it! So the protests in NYC, Portland, Minneapolis, Washington DC ... were responsible for the flare up in Florida, Arizona, Texas... And a Trump "Covid Party" in Tulsa, in which even the governor got infected, had nothing to do with the flare up in Oklahoma.

I'll be sure to keep that in mind...

The audacity of science is truly appalling, that of climate especially presumptuous and

Of course it doesn't matter! The only thing that matters is whether or not what they say pleases the Orange Blob in All His Glory.

These "other people" are called epidemiologists. And Dr. Fauci is one of the leading ones in the world. As for Navarro and Trump... I don't think they quite made the top 20.

Most of Europe, Asia and other places in the world have survived pretty well. How did they do it? Well... by not opening schools, mandating face masks, and doing all the things that medical experts like Dr. Fauci are desperately trying to tell us are the way our civilization (the U.S.) can also survive without a cure. The political interest of an ignorant President who only cares about getting himself re-elected, and is going about it the wrong way (by playing the fascist game), is what is standing in his way.

    That is a "no response".
It does not require a medical doctor or epidemiologist. It requires someone who understands the distribution of a aerosol.
But some nations in Europe are opening their schools.

Most countries in Europe have positive test rates about 1/10 of ours.

You were awfully quiet when your fellow Trump supporters were in mass protesting the shutdowns across the Country. Do Trump supporters not spread Covid?

Not to mention, the pictures below groups of people who actually are wearing masks and groups who believe, like the President, that Covid is fake news.

So please, spare us your flabbergasted righteous spiel.

Lots of people are going to die no matter what the Chinese failure to warn the rest of the world that this disease was contagious as hell guaranteed that. The only question now is how many people are going to die from suicide malnourishment and a host of other things before we figure out that the lock down over time is every bit as dangerous as the pandemic if not more so.

For years I've heard people say you have to "pull yourself up by your boot strap" if you want anything in life. But the moment one thing goes wrong? It's the Chinese fault we're like this!
