Why do you still support Trump?

A question for Trump supporters. Why do you still support Trump?

I have many conservative values so I am not completely ignorant as to what conservatives want and was a conservative for most of my life (independent now), yet I fail to see what he has done that would justify another term. Seems to me that many who will vote for Trump are really voting against democrats rather than being an ardent Trump supporter.

Trump has failed to build the wall and make Mexico pay for it.

Trump has failed to block an expansion of LGBTQ civil rights.

Trump has reversed himself on DOCA after a number of court defeats.

Trump has failed to repeal and replace Obamacare.

Trump has failed to crush the pandemic curve which many of our allies have successfully done.

Trump defends statues that represent traitors to the Union and seems tone deaf to race relations in America.

Trump has sided with Russia over our intelligence services.

Roe vs Wade has not been overturned.

I could go on and on but I believe that I have made my point.

I know that the above list will be rejected and spun to make Trump the blameless victim of liberal attacks. But none the less I would like to understand why you still support Trump over Biden. Especially if you agree with me that he is an amoral man whose divisive rhetoric is a net negative for America.

Trump said he is a deal maker and only he can get the job done. Seems to me that he has overestimated his own abilities and underestimated the challenges of the job.

I am not looking for a debate here as that is pointless. I do however genuinely want to understand the mind of the Trump supporter.

Considering the alternative there is no choice

Some Democrats have claimed they would vote for a doorknob instead of Trump.

    That logic cuts both ways.

I suspect that many feel as you do. Thanks for the perspective.

This goes beyond being a trump supporter. It impacts our country.
For me, his fatal flaw is his character, which makes him completely unfit to be potus.
    Forget policies.
Even if he had accomplished everything laid out in the op, he would still have proven himself to be unfit.
And if he had managed to do what you said, he would have been a different person.
But trump is the person seen in Mary's book, and honest repubs should have gotten rid of him long ago.

You can't. End of story. I don't vote for democrats because their agenda and policies are against my beliefs as an American.

The way the liberals are acting, tearing down our cities, erasing history, defending police, etc. Is why I'm voting for Trump.

I believe part of the reason for the uptick in liberal craziness is to counter conservative values reinforced when Trump won the election.

We are in the midst of a culture war. I'm on the side of conservatives and Trump being elected puts the nail in the coffin of liberal lunacy

It's always based on choices/options. Looking at the 2 men running I choose Trump. Trump has not done everything but he has done some things, all good for the country. Trump may have some warts but Biden is just one big wart. There will never be a perfect candidate that gets 100% support from 100% of the people. Look at what Trump and Biden stand for and choose your side. It's easy for me.

Trump is a hard nosed businessman in a completely different environment. If we could get a few more hard nosed businessmen in the future we might even have a chance of cleaning out federal government. Trump is hard to like but easy to appreciate.

The 145,000 dead of the virus and the 11% unemployed agree with that...

Given that about half of what you posted is nonsense and the only thing that wasn't was a fait accompli handed him by the courts. All in all I'm fairly happy with what he's managed thus far tax deduction pruning back regulatory over burden are both worth while accomplishments. He is getting things done with the wall, which given the stiff resistance from low wage Republicans and Democrats lusting after illegal votes, is about as much as one can expect.

On the other hand I'm looking at a Democratic party that's falling off the left hand side of the universe the universe, is running a basket case for president, that has a history of sexual harassment, and who, further, in order to get a sniff of the oval office, has turned the party of my father over to a bunch of spoiled children who seem hell bent on selling this country to China after they've burnt most of it to the ground.
Yes I know there are libertarians and in the best of all possible worlds, which this is not nor has it ever been nor ever will be, might be the way to go. And then there is Ralph Nader's old bunch Wich was originally meant to be a weight designed to drag the Democratic party to the left. It is in essence now redundant.

Interesting how posters can say things without actually saying things. So I'll be clear, are you saying with Hillary as president we would have zero unemployment and the virus would never have entered our shores? Or would we have only 144,999 dead and 10.9% unemployment? Say what you mean.

An ideology that's based on domination of others? What would happen if you became the minority in society? Would you want to be someone who is LGBT or black? As a part of the former, no, no you do not want to be treated as a member of the LGBT community.

I have said the same myself - that a good business person might make a great POTUS. But Trump wasn't a great business person. He was a sham. And that was well known to many before he ran.

The day before Trump took office, unemployment was at 4.5%, the GDP was on a long positive streak, and businesses were
    expanding.

Today, after 3 1/2 years of Trump in office, unemployment is at 11%, the GDP has been NEGATIVE for the last two quarters, businesses are contracting and bankruptcies and defaults are at a 10 year high, and the National Debt has risen faster
than at any time since WWII.

    Those are the simple facts.

LOL -- It's all Trump's fault. I had a German Shepherd Dog die last month from old age. Damn Trump.

We would have had a result similar to Canada's, instead of being one of the worst in the world.

If you vote Democrat then you obviously believe the answer is yes. Sixty years of the war on poverty, begun by Dems? Fail. If the Dems passed civil rights laws, then why these riots except to tell Dems they are wrong?

In Jan before Covid the economy was booming and unemployment was at historical lows. Way to cherry pick. I’m sure with Dems in charge Covid wouldn't have infected anyone. I mean look at how serious they were taking it in Feb. Remember. Banning travel from infected countries was racist. Party it up in China town? Still having rallies with 1000s of people without masks. It might have been our own military who created it? CNN and most of the MSM weren’t taking serious at all. It wasn’t Trump forcing sock people back into nursing homes. That was a Cuomo. It wasn’t Trump allowing people to crowd together in subways. That was Cuomo. You couldn’t spread Covid if you were protesting for BLM. Talk about anti science. But I’m sure with Clinton here they would have been hysterical in Dec which was the ONLY way to have a chance at preventing it from spreading here. Shut down ALL INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL before a single person was infected here.

Yes. It would have made a big difference with Dems when there isn’t a single logical argument to support it. NOT ONE!!! Go home with your hysterical Monday morning hysterics and blame mentality. It’s tired and pathetic.

The self-described queers get a month named after them at Google. Blacks get a month at Google. Where's their month for whites?
