Why do you still support Trump?

In all fairness the Constitution is open to interpretation, where each side will interpret it in a way that is beneficial to them while claiming that theirs is the correct interpretation. Partisans are predictable.

You know as well as anyone that obama got credit for a bounce from the economic crash. It would have happened anyway. The economic recovery was one of the slowest in history thanks to obama.

You do make some good points. Yet if Trump supports the LGBTQ community and does not want Roe vs Wade overturned then he is out of touch with his base... unless there has been a radical realignment in the party since Obama. I was a conservative for most the time Obama was in office. I remember the right being up in arms over transgenderism and abortion. Has the party changed its stance on those issues?

What you are describing is tribalism which is not synonymous with the right. Independent centrist like me with no loyalty to either side can easily see that each side accuses the other of doing that which both sides do.

Many on both sides enjoy antagonizing the other side. Yet that harms America rather than helping it. Seems to me that the RNC and DNC place party over country. For that reason I cannot support either.

I agree, yet neither side is willing to deal unless they come out ahead. Currently cooperation and concession seems impossible with a few exceptions. I get the feeling that each side wants to destroy the other, placing party over country.

Are these the same polls that said Hillary would win in a landslide?

Here is what I know. Partisans will spin all things positive for the person they support while blaming those they do not for all things negative. Partisans are predictable.

Nope. I may be a little left on social issues, but I'm more of Eisenhower Republican when it comes to fiscal matters. I would
have cut that bailout in half. But Trump was only thinking reelection, so he pissed money away just like a true socialist.

I do not see the RNC pushing radical ideas but it would be better if they would root out the Never Trumpers.

And yet both sides spin against Trump. All the more reason to support him. Until the political hacks are defeated just be prepared for more of the same.

If you were truly a fiscal hawk you would be totally against any bailout. Not in half assed support of it.

Not sure Pew or Gallop predicted a landslide. Clinton has a modest lead and polls correctly predicted that Clinton would win the popular vote. Unfortunately many think opinion polls predict who will win the electoral college when in reality the opinion polls measure popularity. In our system one can win the popular vote yet lose the election. Currently Biden has more than a modest lead.

It would be unwise ignore the fact that support for Trump is down by 14 points among independents like me as independents are the largest voting block and are the group who decides who will become president. Currently 1 in 3 independents support Trump. Trump support is slipping among Republicans, evangelicals and blue collar workers.

Trump cannot afford to loose much support as there is a tipping point at which point victory becomes impossible. Trump is in serious trouble and I am counting on Trump and his supporters to naively blow off the bad numbers. Partisans are predictable in that they spin all things positive for the person they support while ignoring the bad or placing all blame upon the other side.

At this point a Trump defeat would be a self-inflicted wound.

89% Republican support of Trump does not support your claim that both spin against him. Seems to me that Republicans are overwhelmingly and firmly behind Trump. While there are Republicans who have become disillusioned and are actively working against Trump, they are but a tiny minority within the party.

Okay, can't say I disagree. But again, it took both parties to come up with those bail-outs, so this can hardly be blamed on Trump. You mention cutting it in half, but Trump didn't have the power to cut it in half, other than veto the spending in its entirety and to tell the House and Senate to lower the funding if they want the bill signed. And surely you agree that the msm and the left would have gone full-on nutz if he had vetoed that bill.

If the federal government would have refused the bailouts, I would have been okay with that. And I probably would have made a bunch of money over the next few years. Instead, with the bail-outs, I'll probably only break even after the inflation devalues my earnings. But that's fine, if it saved millions of foreclosures for people who don't properly manage their finances, I guess I can take one for the team.

89% of who? The voters? I am talking about the establishment. You are pretty clueless.

Yep, you don't have any evidence which proves Obama slowed the recovery.
