Yes it has been said the Chinese think long term and perhaps they do. OTOH our capitalists who run our govt think short term, like the next quarterly P and L. They have been making short term profits on our managed decline .

There is a point where appeasement has to end.

"Mr Pompeo said the Chinese Communist Party was stealing "not just American intellectual property... but European intellectual property too... costing hundreds of thousands of jobs".

"We are setting out clear expectations for how the Chinese Communist Party is going to behave," he continued. "And when they don't, we're going to take actions that protect the American people, protect our security, our national security, and also protect our economy and jobs."

The consulate is one of five in the US, not counting the embassy in Washington DC. It is unclear why this one was singled out."

Because many of our universities have become ground zero for ChiComm spying, propaganda and indoctrination, and Trump is cracking down on it.

Total BS response. President Trump signed a bill into law that imposes sanctions on Russia. Sanctions are still on them for the actions in Crimea. Including new sanctions that President Trump imposed by Executive Order. The only thing that the President has done in favor of Russia has been to drop the sanctions that were levied against Russia because of their so called interference with the 2016 elections. A claim that was thrown out of federal courts due to a lack of evidence. The Mueller Report's statement that Russia was involved with interfering with the elections was based on the fact that several Russian Citizens were indicted for interference. Yet, there is no direct evidence linking the Russian Government to these individuals. So, the fake narrative that Trump is buddies with Russia is total BS.

The Consulate was closed because it was involved in industrial espionage, and the hacking of our health care system. Further, the consulate was involved in dispersing false information to feed racial tensions. they were even caught importing items earmarked for these Domestic Terrorist attacking US cities. That seems like a pretty good reason to shut them down.

The Obama Administration sided with and supported the Muslim Brotherhood that was responsible for numerous human rights violation is Egypt. As a matter of fact, there are no greater violators of Human Rights then the Muslims. Yet the Democrats will spare no expense supporting them. Remember Obama giving millions to Iran in the fake nuke deal?

President Obama received numerous donation that were bundled. Many of these donations were linked to a credit card that were owned by overseas donors.

The Chinese have become quite energetic in espionage all over the world. Granted, the US does the same but it doesn’t need to steal technology.

If we wish to see what a Chinese run world would like look, look to it’s treatment of Tibet or the Uighurs.

Then there is no way to separate Hong Kong from China. Hong Kong was transfered from British control to Chinese control back in 1997. The agreement said that China would start bring them under their control slowly. It stood to reason that Hong Kong citizens would balk at the Chinese control that restricts their freedoms. Since retaining control, Hong Kong has been a thorn in the side of the Government. Companies with private ownership and the resulting real profits, as opposed to government controlled businesses.

it has nothing to do with espionage, if the excuse is espionage we would close San fran. one which is closer to silicon valley, its political move by trump to shift public attention from his miserable cov19 handling. just look at the timing, 4 month from election, trump poll on covid is miserable. why didn't he close it 2018, 2019 why now.

Yeah, like that Russian Consulate in Miami referenced in the Hillary Clinton-paid for Steele Dossier that was used to spy on Trump.

(FYI, there is no Russian Consulate in Miami...nor in any other city in Florida.)

I believe there is a ban on cross border travel between the US and Mexico right now but I could be wrong. There is one between the US and Canada. But I’m not sure what this has to do with appeasement.

and the left is manipulated by the fake news media. I challenge you to find to provide anything that proves that Trump has done anything in favor Russia or Putin. Please, provide credible sources, not fake news, that backs your claim.

Sure there is. Just draw an imaginary line on a map, and enforce that with force of arms.

Just pointing out its not that there is no way to do it. Its that you don't have the stomach for it.
