Fascinating. I'm a republican but don't use it to limit my reading. Imagine that.

    That's not socialism though .. that's totalitarianism.

Socialism is an economic model. It has nothing to do with politics. Consider - the majority of today's Leftists are capitalists, and quite a lot of conservatives and libertarians are socialists.

The divorce of economics and politics is reliant on the neoclassical liberal perspective. Its a perspective which was only designed to peddle a fake scientific approach where justice can be explained away within calculus.

The idea that you can derive an understanding of socialism, while accepting neoliberal liberalism, is obviously extraordinarily naive.

Again, I will quote this. The word socialism is completely dependent upon context.

The acolytes of Richard Wolff uses the word "socialism" in the sense of the second definition , but refuses to acknowledge the authoritarianism it invokes. But authoritarianism is authoritarianism, no matter if it is left wing or right wing. It makes no difference to me.

What @crank seems to invoke is an anarcho-communist or anarcho-socialist approach, one without a formal government an thus without authoritarianism endorse by those who believe in the legitimacy of the state. I have my doubts about communal living in anything other but smallish groups, but if it is working for her who am I to argue (as long as she doesn't force me, like the vast majority of statists do).

Amusing idea that someone pushing neoclassical liberalism, and referring to neoliberal concepts such as supply side economics, is invoking anarcho-socialism.

    Extraordinary naivety!
