What is/was it like for you? What treatment did you need? Do you have underlying issues? I can't be the only one here.

    My story:

Last Sunday, my 18 year old son began running a 101.5 fever and developed a cough. Tuesday afternoon, he tested positive for covid19. He is 6 feet tall and weighs 220 lbs and is very fit. His fever returned to normal Tuesday night. His cough remains, but he feels normal. The rest of my family returned to the clinic and tested negative. We found a clinic in a small remote town that did "in house" testing and got results in 15 minutes. My son apparently picked up the bug at work because his coworker(my neighbor) also has it.

Later that day, I developed a slight cough, but nothing definite. Thursday morning, I woke up with a fever and slightly sore throat. When my fever reached 100.0, I took some ibuprofen and the fever would immediately go away for a while. Friday evening, I got a slightly runny nose to add to the cough and fever. I woke up on Saturday morning after sleeping all night and having no medicine with a temperature of 98.1F. I still have the sniffles, but feel almost completely normal. On Thursday, I felt good enough to go for a 2 mile walk around my neighborhood(never got within 50 yards of anybody), so I haven't felt any lack of energy. I didn't test positive, but my symptoms have followed my son's exactly and my symptoms didn't begin until after my covid test. Since I'm already quarantining and I don't need professional care, I don't see a need to confirm with another test. It's a 3 hour round trip and I don't want to deal with it. I'm a moderately overweight 53 year old with no underlying issues and a very healthy immune system. I ordered a pulse oximeter and it should arrive today by Amazon. I did take the antibody test when I donated blood on Tuesday. At that time, I didn't know anybody that tested positive for covid and felt great.

I am glad that you and your son seem to have experienced a very mild version of the virus and glad to hear that you both seem to be making a full recovery.

My brother works as a nurse and spent some time being exposed to a Covid-19 patient without the proper awareness (the patient was a transplant from another hospital and didn't follow the typical testing protocol, so he got the patient settled before they learned that the patient was Covid-19 positive.

A few days later, he developed a cough, a fever, and a headache. He got tested, but there must have been some sort of issue with the processing because it took nearly a week before the results even switched from "ordered" to "pending" and I still do not know if he ever got the results. But, he was presumptive positive and had already started to quarantine as soon as he saw any symptoms. The symptoms never really changed from that point although he did experience some lethargic feelings for a couple of days as well. But all fevers stopped within the first few days and the hospital cleared him to return after he went five days without any sign of a fever.

He is in his mid 30s, fit, and no history of medical issues.

I don't know anyone who has had it or tested positive. I don't know anyone that knows anyone who has had it (I live in a pretty large metropolitan tourist area). I know 2 people who signed up to get tested and after waiting in line for 2 hours said to hell with it. After a few hours they both got a text that said they tested positive. This whole thing has been blown way out of proportion. Mark my words, if Biden gets elected, Covid will be gone overnight.

yeah, Trump says testing is great, but it's not easy to get or fast, best to just stay home unless it gets serious - as right now, nothing they can do anyways

Thanks for the update, @Texan . I remember you saying your son tested positive on another thread here. I wondered how the tests went for you and the rest of your family.

I had "something" mild for 5 days in January. All I did for "treatment" was to take one aspirin every 4 hours for body aches/chills/headache, drank lots of water, grape juice (for Vit C), and napped whenever I felt a "wave" of fatigue.

Me Too with an unusually (for me) dry throat.
Usually I am prone to congestion
Being 72 I figure I was one of them that met this virus in the 50's.

    No test.

I'm going to just call bullshit. I do not believe that you know anyone who got a positive test result without taking a test.

And if this virus was going to disappear in november, the numbers would be declining currently. Not hitting all time highs.

That person was removed from the covid-19 death counts.

Mistakes are going to happen. There is no evidence that a significant amount of deaths are being misapllied to covid-19. On the other hand, there is a lot of very strong evidence that a significant number of covid-19 deaths are being missed.

You are entitled to your opinion. But just watch, although I highly doubt Biden gets a win.

My opinion does not require hundreds of millions of people to partake in a massive conspiracy.

Dad of a colleague had it and passed away.
Dad of a friend had it in nursing home, he was asymptomatic.
Two sets of parents of my son's friends have it. His whole circle of friends got tested, so far so good. Feels like the noose is tightening.

I had a bad flu with persistent cough in late February. Took me 4 weeks to fully get rid of the cough. I went to the walk-in, but didn't get tested (there were no tests available then), even though I belonged to a risk group (one of my grad students returned from China in late January, although from Bejing. She was careful, but who knows who she sat next to on the plane). However, I don't believe it was covid, because the flu was going around my son's school at he same time. If covid had been in the US in January already, we would have seen massive outbreaks long before March.

Pretty sure my husband and I had it in March. We had a fever and all the other flu things, plus we lost our sense of smell and taste. The doctor gave us steroids, an anti-biotic and sent us home. This was the day before they closed the office and went 100% teledoc. Doctor "thinks" we had it, too, but there's no way to know. We slept for about a week, coughed for an additional two weeks and were lethargic/tiring easily for another month. We have been in lock down about two weeks before everybody else. I'd guess ours was something less than serious, but more than mild.

My husband works with someone who died from it.

My best friend's cousin died from it.

My best friend's office is down three people right now, because they have it. She (and everyone in her doctor's office,) is getting tested every week, now.

One of my nurse friend's works in a hospital that is currently at full capacity. They have to turn people away. Many Florida hospitals have been at capacity this month. We are also running low on health care workers.

3 acquaintances had Covid19, all survived.

    Retired, living on a farm.

    County density; 1.7/sq mi
    County population; approx. 2,000

    Thus, I feel safe.

    Will travel after vaccination.
