My boss is paranoid about electronic anything, so he has me stand in line to mail his tax returns with extra postage for Certified Mail. He has 3 companies plus his personal tax return. In 2019, I mailed four separate tax-year-2018 returns with Certified Mail. Two out of four returns did not get scanned by the post office as "delivered" by the tracking number. Ever. They never got scanned. I spent 2-3 hours a week on hold trying to talk to the IRS to verify they recieved the returns. They did get them, in spite of the USPS failure to do their job. The IRS just had a pile of returns as always and it was 6 weeks after the filing due date that they finally got around to 50% of my boss's paperwork.

This year was the first year my boss trusted his CPA to webfile for him. lol

What could possibly go wrong with vote by mail? Can't think of a thing.

BINGO.... And try to tell me that bags and bags and bags of ballots won't show up a few days or weeks after the election.

So if young people do not have the resources to vote then this idea is voter suppression. More election cheating by.democrats.

No one is advocating for mailing a ballot to everyone.

The notion of universal mail-in ballots is simply the notion that everyone who has already registered to vote should be able to mail in their ballot regardless of their reason for not wanting to show up and vote in person.

Well, I suppose the Trump administration could request more funding to ensure that the postal service is able to deliver those ballots safely and quickly...

They will have to do that. More funds for USPS is a Must.

If the Federal Government doesn't give massive funds to the USPS to handle the ballots it will be a Clear 100% FACT that Trump is Stealing the Election.

I am not bothering to read more than page one on this thread. These young folks can call their county elections department and ask where they can drop off that ballot. I mean this is not a problem. There are drop off sites all over the place set up 20 days in advance and a website set up for you to locate them, at the library, at some schools, the courthouse whereever and all they have to do is shove that ballot into a slot. Oregon has been doing this for nearly a quarter of a century. By exclusively vote by mail, we mean the ballot itself is exclusively structured same for everyone ( you have braille versions and all sorts of languages available) . You can still vote without putting the ballot in a mailbox. The only thing that is missing entirely from this process is the polling station, the long line and the old lady with the voting sticker.

One of the hidden advantages is that a translated version can come to your door upon request, rather than hoping your local polling station happens to have a nice Korean speaking lady sitting there.

They are all prepaid as charging $.55 for a 1st class stamp would be like a poll tax and minorities cannot get to post offices so it would oppress them.

Problem some places have been having is that pre-paid return mailings are not cancelled, postmarked, yet some if not all mail-in voting depends on when it is postmarked. New York is having such problems still trying to resolve their June primary vote.

Biden would struggle licking the stamp.
I assume someone will lick it for him.

then you can argue that having to drive to a polling site spending the money on gas is a poll tax
so just stop with the absurd arguments

Perhaps I'm missing something here. I read through this thing three times and can't find the resources young people lack to vote by mail. What's it take, 39 cents for a stamp and some time to fill out the ballot.

If they don't trust voting by mail, that's not a resource.

Gas to drive to the polls is a personal poll tax paid by the individual voter. Pre-paid mail in ballots is a poll tax spread out across all the taxpayers in the community. So yes, voting in person occurs a higher poll tax, but the burden is only incurred upon people who actually vote.

    If

Why should we be giving them more money and resources? If you are too stupid to figure out how to mail something then you shouldn't be voting

Vote by mail requires people to be able to read, and spell their own name. This is a classic example of voter suppression, most liberals have trouble with those two things.....................................................DING! ugh oh..........I'm gunna get a demerit.

That is both untrue because he only just today issued his flip flop by supporting absentee ballot in florida and it is moronic because THERE IS NO ****ING DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MAIL-IN AND ABSENTEE BALLOTS.

he has repeatedly praised absentee ballots...even in his tweet last week asking about moving the election day did he praise absentee ballots. it’s not a flip flop
