Go back and read my posts. No where did I claim that self protection was the primary reason for wearing a mask

So you believe that the day a governor reopens, that day everybody goes out and gets infected

That is nonsense! Incubation periods have nothing to do with it.

When Florida opened in May, many people went out to the beaches bars. Some of those got infected. Two days later, start infecting some in their family. And those who don't wear masks infect co-workers, people at the supermarkets where they shop, and people at the bar where they go the following weekend, Many are asymptomatic, so they never get tested. Tracing here in Florida is pathetic. So they continue infecting people for weeks. Only the ones who show symptoms get tested. But they have to wait over a week for results. So they keep infecting others. This snowballs over a month after the reopening. That's when the numbers start really showing the effects of pure stupidity.

After that, right wingers will polish up their excuses and start claiming "but the number of deaths hasn't gone up". They won't start really showing until about a month after that.

Let me repeat what I said: incubation periods have nothing (a little, if you understand the nuances, but for those like you who don't understand them, stick with nothing) to do with when the numbers start showing.

Trumpian right-wingers have been proven wrong on this pandemic again and again and again. But they just keep pushing their pseudoscience. Do they think that they have any credibility among anybody other than other Trumpian right-wingers? This pandemic will start improving when even they stop giving themselves credibility.

Is this supposed to make some sort of point? Nobody wore masks in February and March.

And in Spain, the feminist march was a drop in the bucket. They made the same mistake at the beginning that we are still making: their President failed to take a leadership role and left it to local regional governments. Those made incoherent and often contradictory decisions.

They started improving when the President took a leadership role. When will our President* do that? Never!

Well... scratch that. Maybe after January 20. If we get a real President into the White House.

    $$$. That's all it takes.
Trump doesn't seem to want to come up with it.

Just my 2 cents on NY.
New York, as a major travel hub, was being seeded with 100's if not 1000's of cases from Europe while all government eyes were on China.
By the time they discovered they were infected they also discovered the tests didn't work, so they were helpless for 30 days.
Just way to large of a head start for the bug.

Don't look at cases look at % positives. We are down a little over 50%, but currently going in the wrong direction again.

They have a name for people that can control things for which they don't have explicit power.
    It's called leadership.

It's called Fascist. The patron saint of progressivism, Woodrow Wilson, taught Fascism to Mussolini and Hitler. Hitler also had in depth discussions with another Progressive great, Margaret Sanger.

I know why we were misled in the beginning: it would have taken guts by government officials across the board to admit that masks were effective, and then turn around and say there wasn't enough right now for ordinary citizens to go purchase one, because the government has used its power to acquire them for frontline workers.

But that would have been the correct move in retrospect .

It's not just the president. It's Americas in general who have no credibility when speaking of controlling this outbreak. We could have locked down seriously for a few weeks and licked this thing. But that is not what Americans wanted. They wanted to stay home and pretend they were doing their part, but they also wanted the ability to order a wide range of non essential goods online. Both liberals and conservatives.

Distancing is far far more effective at controlling the outbreak. Everyone ignored this first tool, and went for the second: masks. It's quite hypocritical imo. Every time I grab a box (I've worked throughout the pandemic) for a beanbag chair, or some other silly item, while at the same time hearing people talk about people not wearing masks, I just laugh.

We could be home right now and not working with each other to get this guy his sex toy!

Where's the outrage for Americans ignoring the first and foremost tool to prevent the spread: distancing! Screw the masks; we got various people outside the home interacting with various other people so that various other people can enjoy this pleasure or that convenience.

, land of the fffffffake outrage .

No one wore masks in the US because the experts lied about their efficacy because there was a shortage of masks because Obamacare taxed medical devices out of the country. Obama outsourced mask manufacture to China ,,, the same China that bought up the global inventory of PPE before admitting to the world that COVID could be passed to humans.

There was one death in the US when Trump empaneled the COVID task force on Jan 29 and called for the Chinese travel ban on Jan 31.

What did Biden say about Trump's proactivity?
    What did Schumer say?

Leadership was reversing Obamacare's outsourcing of PPE, facilitating the manufacturing of PPE in the US, restocking the inventories of PPE that Obama used for Swine Flu and failed to replace, facilitating the manufacture and restocking of ventilators that were in short supply, delivering hospital beds and staff to Democrats who couldn't take care of their cities and states.

March 8 --- International Women's Day was no small thing
The problem Progressives created in Madrid was solved when thousands flew back to New York City or returned to infect other

Similar to the February 25 attack on Zulus leveled by John Bel Edwards and other southern states jnfected by peopke returning from Mardi Gras.

Proof that COVID-19 is not "Woke" --- contrary to the claims of 'experts' who claimed that riots don't spread the disease, sitting in the parking lot of your church and listening to a sermon over WIFI does.

    Quote the lie, please.

No idea what you mean, but who cares? They're not the President. What Biden or Schumer say has no effect. Trump undermining his own experts does.

No. Leadership would need to start by Trump stopping all his lying to the American people. Which he has been doing since the beginning and is still doing.

What "problem"? Trump was saying that it was safe to fly.

"Yeah, I think where these people are flying, it's safe to fly. And large portions of the world are very safe to fly. So we don't want to say anything other than that."

Do you mean to say that Trump was (gasp!) ... lying? Oh... say it isn't so.... the humanity!

Look... there is no way to excuse your "idol's" incompetence. He's not fit to be President. Period... And this proved it.

Well this isn't a good start...

Hundreds of employees in Georgia's largest school district have either tested positive for COVID-19 or have been exposed to the virus, officials said.

Gwinnett County Public School teachers gathered for in-person planning Wednesday at 141 facilities across the county, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. The next day about 260 employees were "excluded from work" because of the coronavirus.

Update (Northwest suburban area of Chicago)

High school were planning a full reopen but changed it to remote learning until further notice yesterday.

Middle schools were planning to move to a hybrid schedule with some days in the classroom and some remote. Still on board to happen.
