What? Trump is not the enemy? Then why has the establishment been saying he is? Because Trump is THEIR enemy and you guys are being used!

Do any liberal progressives believe the establishment will give them what they want? I say No!

Geez, doombug how do you know?

Well, gather round and I will tell you.

After the first time Obama was elected I noticed a change in his demeanor after he made his visit to the White House with President Bush. Obama had a look about him as if he had learned something shocking.

It took me a while to put it together but I have figured it out. Here is what he learned: If he did not tow the establishment line he would have the full force of the establishment brought down on him. Of course Obama complied. He was basically a used car salesman and he sold the American people a lemon.

The establishment wants globalism, Obama pushed for it.
The establishment wants the people divided, Obama stoked division.
The establishment wants more power, Obama tried to give them power over Americans healthcare.

    See where this is going?

The establishment will never give you what you want.

Of course not neither the administrative state nor it captive politicians are interested in much of anything other than exercising power. And we of course who wish to live our own lives are in the way if that. Ergo they see us as little more than so much sand in the gears

no I agree he is not an “enemy” because he is too ****ing lazy to put in even that much effort.

    I do not “hate” him

But I do despise anyone who would put his own self interest ahead of all others

Seriously though, I'm not really clear what "the establishment" is meant to mean here. The idea that there is some kind of singular organised grouping all pushing in the same direction with the same aims is getting in to conspiracy theory territory. The vast, vast majority of people in high-level politics and in it for themselves and Trump is no different. If there is any kind of "establishment" in the US, Trump is currently running it (however incompetently).

So your whole argument is that Trump isn't the enemy of Progressives because Obama didn't give them everything they wanted?

WTF kind of argument is that?

    A purely pathetic one

Really I suppose it is getting harder and harder to justify supporting a leader who is more interested in playing golf than ensuring that healthcare workers are adequately protected during a pandemic

I understand that but why fight someone who is not your enemy?

The establishment will never give progressives what they want. Liberal Progressives are merely being used to put establishment politicians in power. They GAVE you Hillary and they GAVE you Biden to vote for. Trump is their enemy.

Trump isn't the "enemy" of the established military industrial complex and big corporate polluters ... he is their friend. And that's
pretty much who Progressives are fighting against ... ergo ...

I've seen some pretty pathetic arguments, but this one is really thin.

    Who is “fighting” him?
I have long held that what will bring even the strongest nation down is corruption and Trump reeks of corruption

it has been sad to watch America crumble under Trump

Who is fighting him? Really? The question is who isn't?

Corruption? You don't think the establishment is corrupt?

Which is more damaging one man who is corrupt or an entire network of corrupt organizations?

Those are the enemies of the 80's....fast forward to today's world.

Big corporate polluters and the industrial military complex became globalists. Global corporations can operate lawlessly and the industrial military complex can occupy countries they tear down and rebuild to enrich themselves.

Wake up and smell the coffee!

Trump has ended NAFTA and challenged China on many fronts. He has also stepped up to not increase US military presence in the world. This is why globalists hate him. This is why the media and every other globalist lap dog tells YOU to hate him.

You know I am correct. The best part is I know I am correct.

In all honesty, and looking at the perspectives through a historical lense, the craziness that is TDS is so unfounded. We have one of the longest peace times in our nations history, the economy was killer and despite an international pandemic is coming back, Americans have more money in their pockets than in past times, more Americans are working. Internationally, we have trade agreements that are mutually beneficial.

When you aren't driven by partisan politics, and look at things objectively, the absolute upheaval and panic by the left is so ridiculously unfounded. Basically non-sense.

You aren't even an American. Your level of investment in our country and our politics is quite strange.

It is not the federal governments responsibility to protect healthcare workers at a state level who are majority employed by private organizations. This isn't communist China.

As it relates to things like Covid-19, and protection of healthcare workers. No.

But that doesn't stop you from investing yourself. Again. Strange.

    Yes it is

The very fact that the CDC is under federal control makes it a federal response. Pandemic response was always seen as a Federal responsibility since it constituted and constitutes a threat to the nation

It would make sense to have a co ordinated response led by experts
instead you got Jared and his band of merry Wall Street piggies

it has been like watching a train wreck

You know you should try to ignore it because you can’t do much to stop it but somehow you just can’t help yourself

There are various levels of responsibility. It isn't a blanket.

PPE is not the federal governments responsibility as an example.

How exactly do you think that Trump could better protect healthcare workers?

Trump has over-spent $7 trillion in just 3 1/2 years (Obama over-spent $8.9 trillion in EIGHT years) supporting the military and
large corporations and the wealthy (including sending billions to Chinese companies). So just stop. You don't know what you are talking about.

Trump sure talks and acts like everyone who does not belong to his white, old, male base is his enemy (or their enemy, that he is protecting them from). You reap what you sow...
