    Jerry Falwell Jr., a prominent evangelical ally of President Trump's, is taking "an indefinite leave of absence" from his positions as the president and chancellor of Liberty University in Virginia.
    The move comes days after Falwell received criticism for posting a photo to social media that showed him with his pants unzipped alongside a woman who is not his wife.

    In a brief statement, Liberty University said members of its board of trustees had met Friday and asked Falwell to step down from his positions "effective immediately," and that Falwell had agreed. Falwell did not immediately respond to requests for comment from NPR.

    Falwell Jr. (a prominent Trump supporter) who Trump was counting on to help deliver the Evangelical Vote, is being temporarily relieved of his position due to questions about his morality.

    Wow.

    First, Trump is mixed-up with the Epstein/Maxwell scandal
    Then, A Judge in New York is allowing a defamation suit to continue (over a very credible RAPE Allegation against Trump).

    Now, a prominent Evangelical Leader who supports Trump is caught up in a scandal.

    For Trump (a person who has made a habit out of disparaging others for "guilt by association"), he doesn't seem to do a very good job of who he associates with.

    Do you think that Falwell will resign?

    And, will Trump throw him under the bus over this?

    The picture is a nothingburger. They could have been in bathing suits and it still wouldn't amount to anything.

    I don't care about Falwell and I doubt this will change one vote for Trump.

    You are probably correct.

    It probably won't move the needle in any appreciable way.

    That is because the Evangelicals who helped Trump get narrow victories in the swing states have ALREADY Abandoned Trump (in droves).

    Trump already lost those voters awhile back.

    Evangelicals are in a 'post morality' phase these days, so it won't matter that much. It never really did anyway. Cheating televangelists always managed to get forgiven and they have wholeheartedly embraced a man who treats wives like cars to be traded in with age, cheats on them anyway and boasts about molesting women. People who can tolerate that will forgive Falwell in a heartbeat because they don't have a moral code worth a damn anyway.

    I wouldn't call it racy. It's unflattering and inappropriate, but not anything sordid (on the surface, anyway), IMO.

    I think that those Evengenitals will forgive Falwell and forgive Trump.
    When they forgive Falwell they will drone out their same old BS line of " we are all sinners". Then they will say crap such as " Jesus has already forgiven him so who are we not to forgive him. "

    This disgraceful (and unconscionable) behavior reflects on Trump, since Trump has been riding this guy's coattails to lock up the evangelical vote.

    Good Ol' Jerry Sr. must be spinning in his grave (having visions of suing Larry Flynt).

    Jerry Falwell Jr. has disgraced the legacy of Jerry Sr., the Moral Majority, and Liberty University.

    I wonder why Trump liked Jerry Jr. so much?

    There is a simple, logical, and completely religious explanation to this. They were taking a break from the rehearsal of a Biblical pay The Garden of Eden and Jerry was playing Adam and the nice Christian woman standing next to Jerry was demonstrating the Sacred Ritual of Human Procreation. Nothing wrong with that, say Ahmen! And how about a couple two Alleluias.
