We need a CNN Sticky on this forum just so we can list all the crazy things CNN does.

The context is a medical discussion of cancer risk. The writer had to be careful so as not to alarm women who may have had hysterectomies for cancer or other reasons and may have had concerns that cancer would return and/or that the surgery might cause cancer. It also reassures women who have transitioned from being men that their new status did not place them at any cancer risk they were not at before. The writer chose to use an exactly correct description from a scientific standpoint to give a clear and unambiguous conveyance of possibly alarming information to concerned patients. This is a characteristic of all good medical descriptions but seems to offend some conservatives who would apparently prefer a backhanded bash at former men and a risk of alarming them as to their vulnerability to cancer with an unclear description.

Nor is anyone else. You need to read up on sexes apparently. There are still only two, though they may change and there are some people who do not identify clearly with either one but do not constitute a third.

How typical of a conservative to be behind the times in sexual matters.

That would mean that the entire first page of threads in whichever sub-forum it's in would be only CNN threads. Perhaps what you meant is we need a SUB-FORUM for all the crazy things CNN does.

If women are individuals with a cervix, does it mean it’s politically correct to call men individuals with a p3nis?

You would think they would have learned from JK Rowling not to go down this path...

"Women who have transitioned from being men" - as in people who have never had a cervix?

Why the hell would a man be alarmed as to their vulnerability to cervical cancer?

He might think that just being a woman by itself made him vulnerable

No, a biological male who knows he has never had one but thinks himself a female anyway and who thinks that the operation may have made him vulnerable to that particular cancer in some other way.

For god's sake, the description was scientifically accurate and went out of its way to be clear and unambiguous while remaining concise. WHY do conservatives have such a problem with that?

I guess cons wish it had said, "none of you degenerate trannies can catch anything though y'all should" or somesuch.

Maybe he thinks that some men, like himself, have or had cervixes, or maybe he thinks the hormones given to him in the transition can cause cancer.

How will CNN know someone has a cervix?

It is a defining characteristic of a biological female, though it can and is often removed.

And what are you suggesting that such a person might do if they instead heard, women with a cervix?

Sure, and "individuals" includes both male and female, so why does using "individuals" help such a man
as you describe above? There's a much better chance that he would ignore it if it was instead, women with a cervix.
