Fundamental error. These are CULTURAL phenomena, not genetic. The Chinese and Jews both have cultures of social responsibility, and high expectations of personal behaviour. They expect individuals to put family/community first, and sacrifice individual wants and preferences to that effect. This stuff is learned, not born.

 

You have it wrong. Cortisol flooding doesn't cause poor impulse control - it's the poor impulse control which causes cortisol flooding.

And poor impulse control is LEARNED - there is no genetic component. Plenty of poor people don't have poor impulse control. Consider the millions upon millions of Third World peoples living in much worse poverty than black Americans, who aren't doing crime or being impulsive.
