Ha! I admit I am spoiled. I remember taking the kids to play in the snow in the morning and then to the beach in the afternoon.

Not really. That is more up along the WV line. Closer to where they want to mine uranium though.

Did you see that poor cat running for cover?

When I lived in NYC, in a 5th floor walkup, lightning struck the railing of the fire escape right outside my window. Yikes!

Yeah.... I guess any cover is good, but not sure it should have been running TOWARDS the strike...

I though it was atomic, at least having something to do with mushrooms

Running to get under the car. I had an old cat who was afraid of thunder and she would come from nearly anywhere on the property to hide under the old vehicles that never moved, even from sheltered spaces like the front porch where we would have taken her inside

Hmmm, gives one pause to get a map and connect the dots regarding old and new mining tunnels, fracking sites, etc.

Or we could be looking at the beginning of the newest New Midrid earthquake. The region has been known to have them before.

Ok. The region is not foreign to earthquakes. See https://deq.nc.gov/about/divisions/...y/geologic-hazards/earthquakes-north-carolina

The pretty picture version from that link is:

True enough....it would be interesting, though, to check frequency, dates, locations and correlate them with the fracking.
