No it's charging them to mail it they can drop it off too. Is them not coming to me I have to burn gas charging me, should then hand me a couple of dollars for gas when I vote? Why should the local government pay for it with prepaid, put a 55 cent stamp on it.

State government is run by a Republican governor who has nothing to do with elections, elections are run by county officials and those decisions were made by DEMOCRAT county officials. BLACK Democrat officials in most cases.

    Nope....... nice try

In 2006 actually it was Republicans passed a bill that forced ups to prepay their pensions in the company for 75 years. That sunk them worse than the internet has.
So Republicans actually put the nail into the ups coffin

actually i think you are referring to a 20006 bill co sponsered by three dems but passed with bipartisan support. The funding requirement was for health benefits. but things were fine for six year until obama was president

The "arbitrary number" is the amount requested BY the postal service.

That's long term spending, the Congress has no plans for it especially just for the election. We've seen what happens when you rush in mail in voting on states not prepared and it's been a disaster and it wasn't about money.

The USPS made an emergency request to try and handle the problems that they expect to have in regards to Covid-19.

That's the number that Democrats passed and which Republicans actively blocked - in addition to going out of their way to try and dismantle the postal service.

Not the election that as before and long term spending. The PMG says they are equipped and ready and how MUCH revenue are they going to make with all the postage paid ballots? The postal service has been on a sharp downturn for over twenty years now and that will continue, why does the postal service need to be at the same size it was twenty years ago?

You are just spouting off a bunch of random talking points.

The USPS made an emergency request to deal with Covid-19. Democrats want to provide them the money to handle Covid-19. Trump explicitly wants to block that funding because he wants to limit the ability of voters to cast their ballots accurately during a pandemic.

No I'm talking reality, the USPS drastically needs a reform and regoaling and is not operating at NEAR the capacity it was just twenty years. It cost money to mothball equipment that is not needed and a huge cost to bring it out just just a few weeks every two years or so. People don't use mail anymore.

And the USPS is supposed to be SELF-FUNDING.....remember, it's not supposed to get taxpayer money to fund it's operations. How much revenue will they make off all the postage for mail-in ballots? The PMG says they can handle the volume it's up to the states to set their deadlines accordingly they can't dictate it to the USPS at their whim.

    :roflol:

    "People don't use mail anymore"?

    Lolwut?:roflol:

Each day the Postal Service processes and delivers 181.9 million pieces of First-Class Mail. On average, the Postal Service processes 19.7 million mailpieces each hour, 327,838 each minute and 5,464 each second.

The entire "premise" of your post has been Utterly DEBUNKED.:flagus:

REALITY: Each day the Postal Service processes and delivers 181.9 million pieces of First-Class Mail.

Alternate Take: "People don't use mail anymore".

You couldn't make this stuff up.

Whether Trump realizes it or not:

    You Can't Deny Objective Reality.

    "People don't use mail anymore".:roflol:

    Too funny.:salute:

A common Trump talking point is that States can not reform their voting processes with just a few months before the election and yet here you are arguing that the entirety of the USPS needs to be reformed during a pandemic.

House Democrats earned roughly 8.7 million more, very real votes, than House Republicans in a record breaking margin of victory in 2018 explicitly because of Trump.

Even the Sec State in Washington says it can take 5 - 10 years to institute a statewide all mail-in voting. The entirety of the USPS has been needing a reform LONG before this election.

Compared to how much 10 years ago, 20 years ago. And it's only going to go down.

Just over half of what it used to handle 20 years ago and everyday I get solicited by companies I do business and do switch the email only as I get tired of filing paper anymore.

Mail In Voting has proven to be such a disaster that we won't know who the President and the Vice President are by January 20, which means Pelosi will assume the powers of the Presidency. So, no, Pelosi can hold relief for idled workers all she wants, but her scheme to Federalize all elections is not going to be signed off by the President.

Maybe she should go tear something else up, or yell and scream as she is so famous for.

You say I am wrong followed by confirmation of my post. USPS mismanagement is not Trumps fault. Perhaps its time for their employees to save their own money like the rest of us.

    @DFBHarvard

How hard is it to understand that most States don't have up-to-date voter rolls? So, when you mass mail postage paid Mail-In ballots many, as 200,000 in Nevada, go to wrong addresses, dead & moved folks, etc. 200,000 are a lot of LOOSE BALLOTS at play. HELLO!

In-person voting is the process that increases trust at every step, particularly when photo ID is required.

Poll workers come from both major parties, helping ensure that they’re keeping an eye on each other.

You show up and present your ID to one of the poll workers, who compares it to their voter roll and against your actual face. This increases trust in both directions.

Only then do you receive a ballot, which you take to a booth to fill out in private.

If you need help, help is provided to you — in public, where everyone can see.

You then personally slip your ballot into an electronic counting machine and leave.

This process engenders trust, that each person received just one ballot, and that ballot was properly marked and counted. Poll workers increase trust further, not just by keeping an eye on one another, but by making sure each person receiving a ballot was legally entitled to receive one.

An election without trust doesn't accomplish confidence that the result is the will of the electorate.

There are none of these virtues in mail-in balloting.

Mail-in ballots get sent out according to a process invisible to the voters.

Yes, you received a ballot with your name and address on it, but did someone else at your old house or apartment receive one with your name on it, too? If so, what happened to it?

Who “helps” older or infirm people fill out their ballots in private?

Were extra ballots printed? If so, what happened to them?

What happens to your ballot after you drop it, as yet uncounted, into a USPS box?

Where does the counting take place, and by whom?

The postal workers union just endorsed Joe Biden — can it be trusted?

If you don’t know — if you can’t know — the answers to any of these questions, then how much do you trust the process?

The move to mail-in voting is about reducing the level of trust the public has for the result of any and every election.

When trust in free elections is reduced low enough, the people will be ready for something, that no one who loves the people of this nation wants to see.

Pelosi's hostage demand that we Federalize Elections, or no COVID relief, would result in no clarity of who won the election by inauguration day, which means that SHE assumes the power of the Presidency on Jan 20, 2021.

Thank goodness we have a President who will stand up to her, either Bush, McCain or Romney would have caved by now.
