It beggars belief that the US A is trying to enforce a deal it walked away from.

If the USA wanted the deal enforced it shouldn't have walked away.

This issue reinforces the belief of the non-Trump world that Donald Trump and Mike Pompeo lie and USA's former allies no longer believe these two clowns.

Pompeo is a parody of a Secretary of State as he bellows and blusters while former allies ignore him.

Trump and Pompeo are two losers who have no credibility in international politics and are mocked by other world leaders.

Yup. I would describe it as the price Trump has to pay for not engaging with our allies in a more coherent manner. Trump bailed on the agreement and now he's mad that the rest of the world doesn't pay attention to him anymore? Welcome to the world of consequences for your actions, Mr. Trump.

The issue with Iran is Trump's and Trump's alone. It's his bed, he made it !!!!!

They aren't backing out of a deal that the signed with the USA. And that forces Iran to submit to inspections and give up material and machinery.

It's interesting to point out that the Europeans actually abstained from the vote last week, not necessarily against the very lonely US position.

However, that vote was essentially meaningless. When there's a real vote to support or oppose this Snapback deal, then we'll know where the chips are....

I always figured there would be consequences to Trump's idiot move 2 years ago.... If it's Iran once again getting conventional weapons for a while, that's not the worst outcome I could imagine.

I hope Joe and Kamala are on the phone TODAY trying to get Iran and Europe to only take 'reciprocal' steps until after January....

I could care less if Iran acquires conventional weapons. There is zero chance they would use them for anything besides self defense.

I can’t think of any good reason to lift the sanctions.

Well, I wouldn't go zero on that, but it's an acceptable risk in my book...

Yep, we're rocking with popularity these days

    SNIP
The United States was further isolated on Friday over its bid to reimpose international sanctions on Iran with 13 countries on the 15-member U.N. Security Council expressing their opposition, arguing that Washington’s move is void given it is using a process agreed under a nuclear deal that it quit two years ago.

Like Judge Sullivan, the UN just needs to figure out a way to run out the clock on these idiots...

That's what the occupants of the World Trade Center thought.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound (or more) of payback.

The 9/11 terrorists didn't use a single weapon purchased by Iran outside of sanctions, nor were any of them Iranian...

And the JCPOA was much more than an ounce of prevention...

The Trumpocity promised that he would negotiate a better deal. So he used real estate negotiationing tactics, he walked out. Three problems. One there was a signed agreement in place. Two the Iranians did not have a reason to negotiate. Three he pissed of our allies so the US was on our own.

That is what happens when a teenager is in charge.

It wasn't a deal. It was a can kicked down the road.

Basement Joe is also on record as wanting some improvements to the JCPOA, but he's also fully aware the US has to be back in the JCPOA as it stood before Trump tried to wreck it before he can build.

After that, following a suitable period where WE have to prove we won't flake out again, they might start some talks during Joe's 4th year or Kamala's 1st...

And Trump just kicked that can back in the opposite direction. Much better to let Iran develop nukes today than maybe in 20 or 30 years, eh?

It was an agreement to kick the can down the road.

It's truly amazing that a horrible theocracy like Iran now has both the high ground and relative backing of major "allies" over the US...

When we come in 2nd place in a contest of credibility to IRAN, we are desperately due for a leadership change....

The deal DOES NOT prevent the long range Iranian development of nuclear weapons.

Yeah, trump is a stupid and unreliable partner and nobody listens to him anymore.
That’s what you get when you let a cruel liar like trump steal the presidency and get in bed with our opponents and throw our friends under the bus.
