Pelosi and Freidman are not "so many." Both have valid reasoning for their demands. Why would Trump object to fact checking?

The dementia schtik is getting really old. Using the debates as leverage to insure impartiality is not an indication of fear nor dementia.

The senior Dems know it but the funny part is waiting for the other shoe to drop, when their own voters catch wise. Have you seen the TV ratings for the two conventions?... 147.9 million for the GOP and 122 million for the DNC.

Once Joe's out of the basement, will that 25-million gap continue or wildly expand? If he gets out and speaks in public, don't bet the gap will shrink. At best they can make him look competent. Make that if they're really, really lucky. Trump needs to get Biden out where TelePrompters and stooges can't save him.

 

Pelosi is the third in succession to the Oval Office, so when she says something that partisan and that loaded, it becomes vitally important to find out why.

Is Biden unable to debate? Is that what Pelosi is really saying here? Should Biden be elected, would that be the Wilson administration returning to haunt us, with an incapacitated incumbent and unelected handlers running our government? The harder question---would rank and file Dems even care?

 

The thing is, I'm not sure that every Democratic voter doesn't already know that Biden has some old age related mental issues. I think they just don't care because Trump. It's entirely possible that if the party bosses can't stop the debates, that Biden could drool and poop his pants on live TV and it won't make a difference to his support. Joe having dementia may already be baked into his numbers for support.

 

Biden will refuse to do a live debate. Rather, he will want it to be virtual so that political consultants can be putting up flash cards and teleprompter answers off-camera.

 

Very good possibility. Or at least an earpiece to feed him answers.

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden says he and President Donald Trump “shouldn’t have a debate” as long as the president remains positive for the coronavirus.

Biden told reporters while boarding his plane back to Delaware in Hagerstown, Maryland: “I think if he still has COVID, then we shouldn’t have a debate.”

The next debate is scheduled for Oct. 15, with a third debate slated for Oct. 22.

I'll be interesting to see if Biden tries to weasel out as we get closer to the debate.

 

You call it 'weaseling out' if a man in his 70s doesn't think it's wise to share a stage with a man who tests positive? If Trump were smart, he'd say the same of Biden. Do you, somehow, see that kind of mindless bravado as strength?

 

Clearly modern science has no way to protect Biden then, and he should remain sequestered in the basement.

 

Would you be in the same room with a person who has Covid and does not wear any protective equipment ?

If Covid Boy can not produce negative tests, for a week before the debate, Biden should call the next debate of.

Wanting to hold a debate in the same room w/ his rival, no masks or shields, while his team is in the midst of an outbreak of the potentially-lethal Covid-19 virus-- Trump's genius is so unappreciated by all you coventional-thinkers! Can't you see the brilliance behind this idea of making sure whoever wins the race to be our President IS the STRONGEST Candidate? Think about it, we could even fold Democratic & Republican Primaries into the same process, expanding the pool of potential winners (so it would never again be only 2 candidates who had a real shot at winning)!

For those who lack vision, I'll spell it out. We allow ANYONE-- Dem/Repub/Independents as well-- to enter the race. "The RACE," would be an enclosed living area that would be shared by all the contenders. The, "election," begins w/ the introduction of something fairly minor, like the newest strain of the flu (before there's a vaccine ready for it). After that, we gradually progress to more & more deadly pathogens, until there's only one person left alive. That survivor-- chosen by NATURE, itself-- would be our next President!

As I predicted in post #65, this thread hasn't aged well, seeing as Trump just squealed and ran from the next debate.

If the Trump cultists had any moral consistency, they'd condemn Trump for his rank cowardice. But then, if they had any moral consistency, they wouldn't be Trump cultists. Instead, they're now going to tell us how brave Trump is for chickening out. Trump cultists, please proceed.

Given Trump's craven nature and the lickspittle nature of his followers, it's always been obvious that Trump would chicken out, and his followers would praise him for doing so. And no, I don't ever get tired of being proven to be right, no matter how often it happens.

You were as wrong in your predictions as it's possible for a human to be. You said Biden would chicken out, and instead Trump chickened out.
