Portland shooting leaves 1 dead as pro-Trump group clashes with BLM

We were fortunate enough to be governed by Eisenhower and Kennedy back then. We're now governed by two camps who hate the other.

 

The problem is that they are protesting based on a false premise (some imaginary epidemic of police brutality and racism) and the reconciliations they want are foolish absurd things like the defunding of police, and reparations, and nonsensical things like "end the war on black people", even though there is no war on black people.

We can't even really discuss reconciliations with people who are fighting imaginary monsters and brainwashed by false narratives. They'd might as well say they're protesting the slaughter of unicorns.

We also don't negotiate with terrorists.

 

Yes, but it's not ALL the left. It only seems like everyone on the left is a total fruit loop and nutcase, because those left-wing-nuts who are totally crazy people are the only left-wing people getting all the press and attention today. That is pretty weird, because they've gone so far out now that they are helping Trump in the polls.

The people who conservatives might have considered the "extreme-left" before all the "systemic racism" and "looting is reparations" nonsense are now noticing that there exists a "beyond-extreme-left" and it's worrying the heck out of them. The "regular left" had better grow a spine, or Trump will win 2020, and another Natioanlist or Republican will win 2024, 2028, 2032, 2036, etc., until Democrats prove that they won't let the extreme lunatics run the asylum in Washington.




I was reading some critique this morning from the Left about this Extreme Far Left dingbat Osterweil's "In Defense of Looting" book.

 

When you depend on professional police to maintain law and order you have to expect some of the police to be dangerous criminals. Police are recruited from the human race. Nevertheless, the rare examples of police murdering minorities is not the problem.

The failure of police departments and their appointed leaders to maintain law and order is the problem. I think the solution is more armed Americans and less reliance on armed police to keep the peace.

How can the police be expected to maintain law and order when their "appointed leaders" are ordering them to stand down, and are refusing to let Trump send in help?

We can't blame the police for this mess when they're being hamstrung by grandstanding virtue signaling Democrat mayors and governors.

 

No! Armed Americans should not be responsible for maintaining daily law and order. We're seeing what's happening with armed vigilantes taking the law into their own hands.

Don't defund the police. DOUBLE the police. Capture and jail these senseless Marxists/rioters and decrease crime rates where people are shooting each other and their children, then cut back to "normal" police numbers.

We are not going to get to "zero" people ever killed by police, but if we cut the pockets of crime and stop the anarchists, fewer people will be interacting with police. Fewer interactions with police, by making people respect the law or go to jail, brings down police brutality.

2) Funny how eight years of Obama's trolling and divisiveness and identity politics and trying to push race relations back 60 years, and I don't remember conservatives rioting against it or burning their cities down.

A DP presidential candidate actually expressed a preference for nuclear war over Trump victory in November. These street mobsters are the moderates.

Yes, I agree with that, and agree with citizens being armed to protect themselves and their property. Your earlier post seemed to suggest that police failed so citizens should arm up to replace them. Perhaps I read that out of context. I do agree that we are seeing what happens when a city starts to defund police and makes the remainder stand down against citizen terrorists and common criminals. People will defend themselves.

 

So, during the main portion of Ted Wheeler's press conference, he blamed Trump for all the Portland violence.

During the follow-up Q&A though, he place all the blame on Democrat Governor Brown for twice refusing to send the National Guard for assistance.

Apparently, according to Wheeler, Portland's destruction and violence is either Trump's or Brown's fault. Definitely not Wheeler's weakness as a leader. Nope. Can't be that! lol

As for the Ferguson point — notice that was pretty much limited to the area where it occurred. While this, isn’t. If Obama knocked them back 60 yeas (because a black man dared to be president) then trump has knocked it back several generations.

 

Our criminal justice system that has evolved to rely on armed professional police to maintain the peace has failed. Police cannot protect city full of helpless sheep from the wolves.

It depends. They are good at identifying people real fast but they can put out some awful conspiracy information. I always verify the stuff that they put out. When that guy was kicked in the head 4chan identified the kicker before anyone else just as they with this shooting.

They're a bunch of trouble makers but they're not white supremacist. They have black members. Pretty sure the FBI has never designated them as domestic terrorists so not sure where you got that from.

 

I think that highlights a lot of what's going on here. When Ferguson happened and the birth of BLM, it was about a false narrative about what happened there, and potentially real change.

He was Antifa or BLM. I have watched the Proud Boys and Patriot Prayer rallies (which truly are peaceful protests) and they always end up being harassed, attacked, chased and even followed to their cars by violent Antifa. It's undeniable, it's on YouTube. I haven't seen them as much the past year though, I kinda think they got tired of being physically assaulted. I've never seen any sort of Patriot group do that to left wing protesters.
