The bottom line is that something is going to kill you. You can spend your life hiding from a ubiquitous bundle of nucleic acid which is going to find you anyway and fortunately has only a tiny tiny chance of killing your children (very unlike the 1918 pandemic) or you can live your very short life in joy and courage. The latter is certainly in better taste and less miserable. It is up to you but please don’t impose your fears on others through the machinery of the state.

I don't know if its too late at this point but everyone better be real damned concerned about a 'silent minority' of right-wingers who are planning to cast votes for Democrats because of the way the GOP is outright refusing, with unrivaled belligerency, to deal with this pandemic. Ah, you use Australia as a shining example when they actually did the right things to keep covid under control. In the US, however, the last I heard was that 20,000 students were infected within the first 1-2 weeks of classes. Some universities already went online again, because of the rapid spread, for example UNC. Others, like Syracuse, had to suspend students because they were caught partying with large groups. Now what does that tell you? US students being irresponsible? My guess is that they have listened to the GOP snake oil that young kids are basically immune. So, they party without worries and then pass the virus on to professors, like myself, and staff. None of that would happen without asymptomatic transmission.

That's why people who believe in the cra% posted in this thread are so dangerous. By downplaying covid at every opportunity, they are a direct cause of the irresponsible behavior of so many, which prevent us from getting this under control and the economy of the country back to full speed.

Even the CDC admits to miscalculations but the percent is less than that site says which is more like 2% of Virus deaths were not actual virus deaths. Mainly, because all deaths have been dramatically reduced during coronavirus. People stop dying from other reasons just of coronavirus does impact the numbers. And, hospitals get a stipend from the government ($13k in my state) every time they put down that they had to treat a coronavirus patient and even more for a death. Hence, that is probably why that car accident guy was ruled a corona death or the lady who was never tested had a hospital call her with a positive test or the clinic that had thousands of 100% positive tests in a row when the national average is 13%. There is bound to be corruption that even the CDC cannot verify until months later. I am sure the number of false cases and deaths rise as well. I bet every flu death was reported as Corona.

Hey, if the murder victim was 65 years old and had diabetes, he probably would have died anyway in 5-10 years. That should give a nice reduction in the prison sentence, because not as much harm done as killing a toddler.

And I thought this was the Democratic rhetoric. Just put 65 and older corona patients into nursing homes to infect the rest like the other leftist state governors ahve done. Especially, being 80% of deaths are over 65 years old. The rest of us who get it probably never even knew we had it.

 

2% is a more reasonable figure that would account for the occasional misdiagnosis or general tracking error.
