I’m curious about who still practices their faith.

Wow, you are really blind. Not only does the Bible plainly say that the Jews killed Jesus, they brag about killing him using five different methods of execution in the Jewish Babylonian Talmud.

Who sentenced him to death? Who put him on the cross? Who drove in the nails? All Romans.
The Bible also talks about a worldwide flood for which there is no archaeological evidence, about people living inside great fish for days, virgin birth, walking on water, people dead for days returning to life, about plants being created before they had the means to drive their photosynthetic processes and all kinds of impossible stuff.

No,but the most traditionalist wings of the Jewish community do.
I think any explanation doesn't minimize the horror of it.

That is either retoric or misconception on the part of the letter writer, especially since it counters the accounts of Jesus' life. As noted Pilate was a Roman and the whole thing was done per Roman law. At best, you can put it on the Jews' heads in that the ones present were given a choice between who to free and who to kill, and they choose Jesus to be killed, but they did not do the execution or trial itself.

Flood and archaeological evidence aside, all the rest are supposed to be miracles, which by definition defy the normal laws of nature.

According to the fairy tale, they tried several times to directly kill Jesus but he gave them the slip.

The biblical miracles were meant to impress the Gentiles and to show that God was on the side of the Israelites. Exodus 34:10. You can't give one example from the Bible where the Gentiles benefitted from any miracles.

Unless you are referring to the various times they tried to trip him up on scriptural knowledge, such as the woman and the brothers, you would have to reference the verses.

Strawman. I made no reference or claim about who benefited from what. You started with a comment about several claimed (I won't even attempt to argue if they really happened or not) events that were "impossible". I simply pointed out that the very definition of a miracle was that it violated the rules of nature, as we know it. Who benefits from such miracles is irrelevant to that point.

However, in counter to the bold I offer up these four examples:
    Matthew 8:5–13:

    Matthew 15:21–28:
    1 Kings 17:7-24:
    2 Kings 5:1-14:

It sure would be nice if believers would read and understand their favorite ancient ethnocentric Middle Eastern religious fairy tale.
    Luke 4:20-30 = https://classic.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=luke4:20-30&version=ERV;CEV;NLV;NKJV;NLT

The biblical miracles were done on behalf of the Israelites to impress the Gentiles. No Gentile ever benefitted from a biblical miracle.

I thought that Jesus healed the centurion’s servant and the Canaanite woman.

I gave you four example of Gentiles, or non-Jews, who have benefited from miracles. You are proven wrong unless you can show how they are Jews and not Gentiles, or how those were not miracles.

So far, from the number of likes for your post, quite a few of us agree with your idea.
Maybe a year or so ago, one of your fellow right supporters claimed there was no such thing as "Free Will".
He said the Bible does not say anything about "Free Will". I tried to find evidence to refute his claim, but could not.

It has been said that the reason he spoke in parables was because there are no words to describe what he was pointing at.
He could only say..."the kingdom of heaven is like this...or the kingdom of heaven is like that...
The Buddhists and Jesus point in the same direction...perhaps even most religions point that same way...

I tend to agree, Pal,Gab, and fellow readers, that most "churches" sing platitudes.. however I would like to make a distinction, IMHO the Church is the body of Christ.. all of the true believers, those wherein the Holy Spirit dwells. Jesus is the cornerstone and the rest of us the blocks, vs. a building with a name on it where a bunch of people meet.

Satan's influence was at the Last Supper with the attendance of Judas, apparently , according to the rules, Satan's hard to dismiss. Those rules more than likely arose from Mankind taking from the Tree, and I'm guessing that freewill came along with Satan's promise to Mankind "that we will be like gods". The rule, IMHO, is that true love cannot be said to exist (doesn't exist) without free will. That Gives Satan a lot of legal wiggle room to mess with the Creation. So .. to answer the question about where free will is in the Bible.. it's there at the very beginning with the forbidden fruit allegory.

I have to admit that the way that I personally think of my faith... and practice my faith has evolved greatly since 1988 when I thought that I had the Bible pretty much all figured out from Genesis to Revelations!

These past thirty years has been a time of my realizing more and more clearly how terribly I had been mixed up and motivated by my own form of PRIDE and self-righteousness back in those days.
