    Then he was against it.
On the topic of same-sex marriage, Trump stated in June 2015 that he was "for traditional marriage"
hillary was for gay marriage at that point

Trump is a chameleon. He’ll support anything that gets him votes, power, or money. Given he is courting the evangelical vote and the extreme right I have no reason to believe he doesn’t intend to harm me and my family.

Perhaps they didn't fall for that myth either.

How exactly is it a myth?

Its your myth. While you're baking up your claim, the other myths they did not fall for were:

    Democrats respect second amendment rights.
Higher taxes under Democrat control helps the poor and creates a thriving society.

If one is gay and also has a gun and a job, Trump is the lesser of evils.

So you don’t believe the trump admin thinks it should be legal to fire someone for being gay?
    https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2020/06/15...nt-be-fired-for-being-gay-or-transgender.html

Don’t worry, they’ll have the votes next time.

Here is the true "fake news"!

This faux "poll" has maybe 20 or so Trump supporter, and 9,980 manufactured "supporters" who are nothing but fakes from the Russian robots.

But what is amazing is that some people (or bots) are willing to act like this was a real "poll"!

I see. He was right. In 1964, gays were not considered. SCOTUS (Including one of Trumps appointees) interpreted “sex” to include sexual orientation and gender identity. It was a good call.

No reasonable person would translate that into "it should be ok to fire them for being gay"

If you are baffled as to why gay people would vote for Trump, just look at the results your party is known for. Trump is the lesser of evils.

If it’s legal then that’s saying it’s ok. Do you know gays who think it should be legal to fire them just for being gay?

Your question presupposes a false conclusion. They didn't fall for it and the issue has since been "settled". Gay people are not being fired for being gay, and they are marrying whomever they choose.

Now we are left with this inconvenient topic. Why are more gay people breaking away from the party you think they should be supporting?

This is one of the problems with the Democrats, they think people are monolithic single issue voters. They think all women will vote for a woman because she's a woman. They think all blacks will vote for Democrats because of the plantation and welfare. They think all poor people will vote for Democrats because of welfare, all Hispanics will vote for Democrats for illegal immigration, and all gay people will vote for Democrats because of gay/social issues. Some people are simplistic single issue voters, but not everyone is. I lean left on some issues and right on others, as do plenty of other women (and black people, and poor people, and Hispanics, and gay people.)

Gay people can also be business owners, gun owners, wealthy, they can have strong opinions about our involvement in foreign issues and wars, they can have strong opinions about immigration, there are a myriad things which could push gay people towards Trump. It's not a slam dunk that gay = Democrat.

    Exactly.

The "poll" was completely Discredited (by the Exact People who conducted it).

UPDATE, Sept. 20: As Hornet’s survey results have now been widely reported on, it’s important to note what can and should be extrapolated from this data — or, better yet, what cannot be and what should not be. Hornet’s survey was a voluntary, opt-in survey of 10,000 Hornet users; those users received a one-minute survey in their Hornet inbox. It’s important to acknowledge the obvious inherent biases that come with any opt-in survey, and for that reason, one must be careful in unfairly extrapolating from the data itself.

It would simply not be proper to extrapolate from an opt-in survey such as this a prediction of voter turnout in the 2020 U.S. election — by the greater LGBTQ community, or by the gay community more specifically. In effect, the only thing truly measured by Hornet’s results are the opinions of those Hornet users who chose to take the survey, not the broader Hornet user base, not gay American men, and most definitely not the broader American LGBTQ community. To infer that from the below data would be flawed.

Gay does not equal Democrat, but as a gay business owner (2), gun owner (7), strong opinions on both national and border security as well as a massive fiscal conservative that also knows a metric ton of gay and lesbians across numerous conservative states — I can tell you the 45% is an outright lie. There are some hardcore gay trump supporters but if it is even in double digits it is in the teens.

It doesn’t matter how many guns you can own or how many illegals we remove if we do not have basic protections and rights that every other American does.

I also believe in integrity, honesty and transparency. Something the right has abandoned.

I can see that.. Trump does put out that vibe... especially when he talks about his 'big tent'.

However, I don't see 45% in any wet conservative dream.

Besides, what do you want gay men for when you have the Crow Nation of Montana behind you (so to speak)??

Trumps DOJ argued they could be fired for being gay, I don’t many gay people who think that would be good for them lol
I don’t think they are. Some poll by something called the hornet strikes me as unreliable.
Dems are the reason they can marry who they choose. I’m skeptical they forgot that already, as if it can’t be changed by a conservative court.

Why? Neither of the candidates is socialist, although both support policies that could be considered somewhat socialist.

According to Stormy Daniels it was only "average" but then there are those small hands to consider so the wannabe Fascist-in-Chief is probably LYING when he talks about his 'big tent'. ;)

Perhaps the LGBT community is not the flock you see them as. I don't put much value on polls either, but I have noticed a significant increase in Gay people and Jewish people moving away from the Dems and for good reasons. In other parts of the world, being gay is a crime punishable by death. Trump is at least putting pressure on them and supporting the one tiny country in the region where it is safe to be gay.

The issue you are making a big deal out of is already settled law.

No law is settled. Scotus can overturn any precedent, and they often do.
Only one party consistently elects jews and gays and any other minority. Why do you think that is?

Probably because they recognize that biden/harris would be far worse for America than Trump could ever be.

I am aware of the identity politics your party pushes. If you are A, you are expected to vote for B. Not everyone falls for the facade.

To project an image to be used to gain power. Many of my gay friends are still Dems.
