Yeah, but that's not how the US Congress works...you don't just pass something...and walk away...there is a second chamber. Their package...which was a three trillion dollar wish list was rejected by the other chamber....they were suppose to stick around and work someting out...but Nancy P has refused....she even said DOA to a bipartisan actual relief bill, that the President was on board with.

The Senate is well aware of the list of choices they have....the President has made them public..moreoevr they have all be vetted by the Senate already and appointed to Judgeships. it's pretty easy.

What are you talking about? There was a real tax cut in 2018 that help create one of the largest economies in a generation and lowest UE

The President made no healthcare bill, teh President doesn' make bills

I'm actually of the mind that we add these additional states, along with DC and PR...

    - Brooklyn
    - Manhattan
    - South Minneapolis
    - Combat Zone (Boston)
    - Long Island
    - CHOP
    - Toronto

The house did their job, did the senate vote on it?
The tax cut was not in 2018, in 2018 he just lied about one.
The president claimed an imaginary healthcare bill would be signed a month ago. There isn’t even one being discussed.

Republican senators had traditionally treated Supreme Court nominations as a formality. Democrats fought nominations by Nixon, Reagan, and Bush. Now we've made John Roberts the swing votes. In a couple months, he might be considered a member of the liberal side son.

I agree, if dems expand SCOTUS to manipulate the balance of power, Republicans will inevitably do it right back next time they're in power. SCOTUS will grow every time power shifts in Washington, by enough seats to set up the new party with an iron-clad SCOTUS majority. "Justice" will be a mockery of partisan rulings based on whichever party last controlled all the levers of government necessary to add SCOTUS seats. The judiciary itself will cease to function as an ostensibly-neutral arbiter. It'll become merely an extension of whichever party last added seats. Do you imagine its rulings will continue to be respected once that happens?

You're right.. no way they'll impeach Joe for failing to add SCOTUS seats, because he will...

Is there some context around the Pelosi quote that you'd like to share? Or are you just going to complain about the source of the video?

It looks like it was started ~9 years ago specifically to bash Obama, too.

No they created their own and voted it on it, it was blocked by Senate Dems.....why vote on something DOA? Did Nancy P vote on the bipartisan bill the House came up with?

There were tax cuts in 2018....The Act to Provide for Reconciliation pursuant to Title II and V of the Concurrent Resolution on the Budget for Fiscal Year 2018. ...sometimes called the TCJA

Not sure what sort of promise on a healthcare bill you are talking about...I hadn't heard that...got a quote or link for me?

Pelosi is not relevant to the thread topic, anyway. So no, I'm just going to comment on how the alt-right in particular was created through online hype-generating propaganda and disinformation of the sort you just posted, and encourage you to pause and think about how you're being manipulated by such material and to strive to be better than that.

He's right not to tell the voters what kind of President he will be and whether he supports these RADICAL ideas the Democrats are preaching for their planned power grab??? Since when? You guys are for Ginsburgs "wishes" well she was quite clear in her opposition to expanding the court.

One has nothing to do with the other. How about the Democrats go out and when elections by the rules and by the Constitution instead of changing the rules and ignoring the Constitution.

Puerto Rico statehood makes more sense to me, then. If the Democrats break that seal in this climate, Republicans will go wild once they have control again. It's the kind of thing that could whip nuttier gun-fetishists into a frenzy, too. The country doesn't need that kind of violence right now.

I don’t care what Ginsburg wished. I wished she quit 5 years ago.
And yes he shouldn’t surrender that bargaining chip, why would he?

Yep... I've seen the lines down in Alexandria...

Historically, almost 30 years in my current location, we've never waited behind more than 9-10 people to vote, so we are going to do it live election day as usual, masks and all. We're not super worried about COVID at this point (probably foolishly)

My son is 18 so this is his first vote and he wants the experience, instead of just mailing something in or doing it at the election office in September... Frankly, I hope he gets a kick out of it, as I usually do...

I got an unsolicited no-reason mail-in ballot request form back in late July, but decided not to send it in for the reasons above, along with the fact that I just don't trust the post office at this time (for some reason)... Maybe in 2022 that will become the norm, because it really does make sense long term.
