Wrong, and on so many levels.

First of all, antibodies aren't only one form of immunity. There is also cell-mediated immunity. Specifically, T-cell immunity, which growing evidence shows constitutes the large majority of preexisting immunity to COVID-19.

Secondly, there isn't a shred of proof demonstrating the attenuation of naturally acquired immunity over time. It's just another myth put out there by the charlatans, the hysterics, and the lying media.

Lastly, what in the world makes you think a vaccine (which has yet to be produced) will confer lasting immunity when naturally acquired immunity will not? Do vaccines have magical powers that our immune systems lack?

It's clear that you know precious little about science.

There is no need for widespread testing when 99.9% of the population is in no danger from this virus. And we already know who is most at risk: Morbidly obese people and nursing home patients. Neither of these at-risk groups will be saved by testing or masks or social distancing or liberal virtue signalling.

    lol

New York performed worse than any State in the country except New jersey, which also had a draconian lockdown.

As usual, liberals fail at everything.

Acquired immunity only remembers what happened last. Vaccines can change every year.
T Cell immunity is only a theory so far. Or do you have a link to a peer reviewed paper?

Going to 200,000 soon in the USA.
Were you aware there are viruses and germs that can kill all or most of a "herd" since almost forever?

That there are viruses and germs (and other bad things) that don't develop immunity?

These Right Wing theories of "herd immunity" are like dealing with children.

In fact, its just like Trump!

Were you aware that immune systems are also capable of changing?

It's called "adaptation" and is a central component in this thing called "evolution".

Actually, T-cell immunity is an observable, biological fact. I think what you mean to say is that T-cell immunity to COVID-19 is a theory. And, of course, you are wrong about that as well.

Studies from Sweden and Germany demonstrating the existence of T-cell immunity to COVID-19:

    (1) https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.06.29.174888v1
    (2) https://www.researchsquare.com/article/rs-35331/v1

And a couple of studies summarizing the current state of understanding of T-cell immunity to COVID-19:

    (3) https://www.nature.com/articles/s41577-020-00436-4
    (4) https://www.cell.com/cell/fulltext/...m/retrieve/pii/S0092867420306103?showall=true

But why even bother squinting at studies when you can simply observe the real world experiment that was run in Sweden?

No lockdowns, no mask mandates, relatively little "social distancing" when compared to other countries.

The evidence speaks for itself. There was no apocalypse, their hospitals were never overwhelmed. And now their death rate is at virtually zero. You know why? Because of herd immunity.

Last time I checked, Andrew Cuomo was the governor of New York.

Last time I checked, Andrew Cuomo was the one who forced nursing homes to accept patients infected with coronavirus.

This isn't one of those viruses - not even close. And if you think it is, then you're not educated enough to have an informed opinion.

Again, this is not one of those viruses. Try to concentrate on reality for a second.

    lol

Herd immunity is not a theory, it's a biological fact that's been known for decades.

If masks are so wonderful, then why don't any of the Nordic countries mandate them? I guess they must hate science in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland.

Is this like what has happened in UK? We have loads of capacity but try booking a test. Here, you would be lucky if the next available test is 100 miles away in three days time. You then have to wait several days for the result by which time your quarantine period has nearly ended whether you had symptoms or not.

Don't believe the "capacity to test x people" claim as saying you can get a test when you want

You seemed to have ignored 90% died in that post - great that 10% achieved herd immunity

Herd immunity was achieved for the Spanish Flu and Bubonic Plague; unfortunately 50M died from the Spanish Flu and a third of Europe were killed by the plague.

The main reason is 40% of households in Sweden have sole occupants. Nothing to do with herd immunity - most Swedes have not been in close contact with others

In college, I had the basic methods class, a year long history of ideas class that included the early history of science, and the philosophy of science.

Perhaps you have something specific and substantive?

I can only speak for what is "here". Anyone can get a test locally in the larger cities at least. There is no incentive for "everyone" to get tested. Symptomatic cases are dropping so demand for tests drops too.

We are very fortunate that Covid-19 isn't nearly that deadly.

The Spanish Flu resulted in less deaths that Covid-19 in the first wave, millions infected, no herd immunity leading to in excess of 10 million dying in the second wave
