Seriously? At best it was a mixed message. He called violence against reporters “a beautiful sight”.

Sure, he gave himself cover with the “you don’t want to do that” part, but the overall message was that assaulting a reporter was a beautiful sight.

If he’d wanted to condemn violence he would have called it a disgusting sight.

Just so we are clear....the left is going nuts because Trump was asked about a journalist being pushed....and he says

"you don't want to do that"

He also called it a beautiful sight. Twice.

Sure but he wasn't advocating it...just the opposite he said don't do it.

I have come across a lot of punks in my life, I wouldn't assault them, or advocate they get assaulted, but certainly am not upset when it comes back to them

In this case you have leftwing propaganda machines that have covered for the violence of this terrorist group,....to only get it to them first hand...the irony is funny.

Laughing or getting pleasure out of some ironic event is not fascism. If he were to say, chill the press...ie through wiretapping them, or indicting them for reporting...maybe...but then again that's what you'd get from an Obama/Biden regime....not the Trump Admin.

He wasn't condemning or advocating for violence and none of you would think that if his name wasn't Donald Trump. The language syntax is quite clear.

He's expressing indifference towards the individual by stating he'd love to see him thrown around like popcorn.

I can say this authoritatively as someone with a college reading level by the age of 15. If you had just said that Trump was being callous and with disregard for the individual you'd be right.

The moment he said "don't do that", like it or not he wasn't advocating.

I didn't want to bring my linguistic credentials into it, but I'm annoyed about these four years.

Remember how "surrogate to the campaign" became an absolute maddening invitation to investigate Jeff Sessions (that of course went nowhere).

Anyone with an even basic reading level should've comprehended Sessions words. That they didn't, to this day irks me.

When it comes to linguistics, I'm a Noam Chomsky type(haven't read his books. Just know the reputation as a linguistics perfectionist.)

The overall message was clear, and it wasn’t a condemnation of violence. It was supportive of the attack, by calling it a beautiful sight.
    That is not indifference, either.

we are told to take trump seriously but not literally. The serious message he sent was that it is ok to push around journalists.

Crystal clear to me....and you can take him seriously....frankly this is a message your parents should have taught you

"you don't want to do that"

Who's forcing anyone to buy things?

Can you give us any actual examples of "bigger government"?

Or specific examples of gun control?

The Green New deal is a massive government expansion. And part of that is being told what power to use and car to drive. No thank you!

My 10 year old nephew and I were watching a Youtube video the other day of a motorcycle, going very fast and evading police who were trying to pull him over. The speeds were amazing, and the driver's ability and skills fantastic to see...we were both laughing and frankly enjoying watching it....it looked like the guy got away too....while we both agreed it was quite the sight to see, I highlighted to him, "you just don't do that!" - he understood...it's rather amazing a 10 year old can grasp it, but libs can't

    My pleasure.

Bigger government comes from higher taxes and more laws.

Example: This money is used to produce and buy high fructose corn syrup for others and then the pharm products to treat their diabetes. If I don't pay my taxes, they take my home, bank account, my retirement, my business, and maybe even throw me in prison. That more than qualifies as force.

In live in Los Angeles and many guns are banned. No conceal carry permits are issued to ordinary citizens so only cops, judges, politicians, and criminals carry guns. A CA resident can have his/her guns confiscated without due process based on hearsay. If the webbing between your thump and forefinger is below the level of the top of the trigger, it is considered an "assault weapon", it must be registered, and cannot be sold or transferred. That means that it is confiscated upon death and cannot be inherited.

So the claims that bigger government makes Americans healthier, safer, and increases the quality of life are 100% false and CA is an example.

Trump abuses power, but is still the lesser of evils.

Let's put it like this: I like pepperoni pizza. Actually, I love pepperoni pizza. But whether you ordered me a pepperoni pizza or not, I really don't give a damn.

Sure I'd love it, it's a beautiful sight. But whether it happens or not I don't care.

I used the same exact syntax and the same exact tone but on a different topic. This is what TDS is, no one would interpret this differently if it came from someone other than Trump.

Or if they're saying that they would, then with all due respect there's a comprehension issue.

Using your example, Trump likes seeing journalists getting pushed around. And he has told his supporters he likes it.

Seriously, a president saying it is a "beautiful sight" to see a journalist get pushed around? How ****ed up has the country become not only that he can say that, but that he has people supporting what he said?

Did I say I supported it? No, I didn't. I'm saying that it wouldn't pass the crowded theater test by the SCOTUS. Which is why it's merely a screaming article and not legal action against Trump.

He said something callous and with disregard for the individual. But he stopped short of calling for violence.

While you're down there contemplate the meaning of "You don't want to do that".
