Poor little Jennifer....always thinking I'm from Ukraine....if only the poor misguided troll would know.

Well, ukies are basically European, "bratooshkeh" with Asiatic Mongols Russkis is wide open to interpretations. One doesn't slaughter their own, lol.

That's a comical pic, the Russki one is even smaller, considering all or mostly all is stolen land. Stalin/Lenin created nothing.....wait Leninka created the SU, .....tell me Zacharova Jenny Hun, where is the CCCP today? The indestructible union of republics?:roflol:

Sure, I fully supported Saddam Hussein. They claimed he was a tyrant who brutalized
his own people, used WMD's on the Kurds and Iranians and began invading his neighbors.
Don't believe a word of it.
Iraq could have become the great power of the Middle East - not Israel or the USA. That
clearly would have been a Good Thing. And with nuclear power it could have extended its
    reach.

So... the Chinese and French got the oil. According to your logic America should invade them
to get the oil they claim is rightfully theirs? And maybe Saudi or Russia is next in line?

I probably did watch Putin a few years ago with captions, but not recently. As for his speeches, they're always logical. I read that his recent speech to the UN only mentioned what can and should be done, rather than criticizing others like Trump. It's probably what the other leaders did as well.

By the way I always lived in NYC and around NYC. Now I'm in Florida's New York suburb: Boca Raton.

You're not from Ukraine, but your family has to be from Western Ukraine, otherwise you wouldn't be saying the things you do like for instance; trying to present yourself as being European, as if it is something superior.

That wouldn't exist, unless you have been made to feel inferior over your Slavic/Russian ethnicity - so it had to have been impressed on you under the Austria/Hungary Empire. If those feelings of inferiority were instilled in you when Western Ukraine was under Poland, you would have looked up to them and not have killed them in WWII. This means your contempt was against all Slavs/Russians. Simple deduction!

    Never Forget,
Ukraine is a region, not a nationality!

    Eastern Orthodox vs Roman Catholic

Ukraine was a USSR definition of a region.

Never intended by the USSR as a republic, deserving of autonomy . . . .
    Ukraine was never a "nation".
And some few oligarchs use it today to exploit, ref. Hunter Biden

    Gimme a break on Ukraine

Saudi Arabia is America's footstool, no need to invade. As for Russia, it's impossible to take it over militarily so the US works subversively. Washington is trying to install a Western leaning leader that can be bought like Navalny, so they can break up the Federation.

The new Russian constitution must be freaking out Washington. Unless a Russian citizen has lived in the Russian Federation for 30 consecutive years they cannot hold an important government position. It also leaves out anyone with a dual citizenship. Smart move!

Another part allows the Russian Federation to reclaim any area that was an original part of Russia. If any of the Baltic nations or Ukraine do anything to start a war or harm the Russians within their boundaries, they could end up losing part of their country.

Another amendment says that Russian law supersedes international law, and that a marriage can only be between a man and a woman. Also children must take care of their parents when they age - but I'm not sure of any of this. It's just bits and pieces that I. picked up.

Moi621.....never forget....CCCP doesn't exist!....it never did! Russia never existed under CCCP, never did, Russian wasn't a nationality then, 1000 yrs ago, there was no Roosha, bears and deer were ****ing where Mockva stands today.

Russia never had an "ethnic" Russki ruler....why? Because Russians couldn't/can't govern themselves. Moscovia won't exist in 20 years.....China will take back Siberia, Far East, which rightfully belongs to them.

Your USSR, as that dummkopf Lenin said..... indestructible union, was a colossal fake, as it turned out to be,LOL. Just like you. Give me a break on your Roosha dude.

Moi621 .....where in Canada are you? You hang out in Canada section a lot! ROFL.

Need I remind you that the name Ukraine was given to the area by Greek colonists, and it translates as: 'Those who live on the edge' of what was then the Russian world. So how about showing a little gratitude to the Russian Tsars, Lenin and Stalin who are the real fathers of Ukraine for having given you some land, and not to Bandera for having killed off the Poles.

Well America paid as much for Iraq oil as it did for Saudi oil. If America invaded Iraq "for the oil"
then why not invade Saudi too? In fact Saudi was behind the great Oil Embargo of the 1970's
wasn't it? Beats me why America took so long to seize the oil - they seemed preoccupied with
building institutions, support for the Kurds, fighting ISIS and the like. I mean - France or China
weren't interested in things like that so they seized the oil instead.

Wrong. Russia and China put in the highest bid for the contracts, they didn't "seize" the oil. You don't seem to know much about this.

The fact that Russia and China got cheap oil is because they were not hated and hence their security costs were low. The US who came to steal the oil, who gave Iraq freedom, LOL, were and still are, hated. The cost to the US of that oil theft would have been more than the oil was worth.

Putin has such an informal way about him. He speaks in subdued, friendly tones in clear language but in not a way that feels condescending. He's like an uncle who's just travelled to some far-away land and has come home to share the experience and a cup of chai with you ..... and maybe a tiny drop of vodka.

I'm surprised though I can't explain why. Maybe because you are less pushy than the average New Yawker and your brogue is softer.

This is how they broke up the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics ... and consequently the Warsaw Pact. Of course, that endeavour started a long, long time ago and by the time Gorbatjov came along the way had been paved by Radio Free Europe. Several of the former Soviet and Soviet satellite nations now realize that they'd been duped. I think they are probably pleased that they had broken away from the responsibilities of the Warsaw Pact but they are now aware that Radio Free Europe was a grossly exaggerated form of propaganda and that NATO is no better. I suspect the Visegrád Group is going to develop into an alternative to both NATO and the EU. If it does it will be very interesting to see how Russia will regard it. But that will be for another, even more exciting thread!

Kalb Saddam was a brutal tyrant.
His sons raped poor married women and killed their husbands if they spoke.
    Evil evil family.
I can understand that most Arabs cannot handle democracy, most understand only force & violence .. so Kalb Saddam fits them.

So, all America had to do was put in a higher bid for the oil, and save a trillion dollars?
I seem to recall a lot of this nonsense was said against Bush Senior when he liberated
Kuwait - it was about the end of the world, burning oil fields, Arab quagmire, body bags
and the like. And it all worked out well - but Bush Junior just had to go and occupy an
Arab nation - and the Left rejoiced in a new cause. Kuwait was forgotten.

Just as I thought, you don't seem to know much about this. You clearly don't know anything about the bidding process that took place in 2009 and why US companies were priced out

Let me give you an overview on Syria and ISIS:

In Syria, the US plans were to take the oil away from Assad to make the Syrian people suffer for voting for Assad and his all inclusive and secular government - and for not allowing Washington to weaken Syria by Balkanizing it into parts so they can all be at one another's throats.

As for the Israeli friendly Kurds, they were to be given Syria's oil and gas rich area as their own nation. That way it can be used as a Sunni wedge between Syria and Iran. The locals though, are a little upset at having their lands and homes taken away and given to the Kurds as overlords, since the Kurds had never lived in the area. I assume the locals are Shia and helped by Iran.

The American troops need ISIS as an excuse for being there, so that they can say they are protecting the oil wells from the terrorists. This is why ISIS only exists in the US occupied area, except for the Turkish occupied one where Erdogan uses them to do his dirty work. In reality, the Americans are selling the Syrian oil and giving the money to the Kurds.

Russia though needs the Shia Crescent as protection from the jihadists from the Gulf. So putting a Sunni Kurd wedge between Iran and Syria becomes a direct threat to Moscow. Russia also has an obligation to protect Syria's sovereignty, and to do everything they can to help the Syrian people and government retain their borders. This is why you read of fights breaking out in Syria between American troops and Russians.

Interesting! As for how Russia will regard it? It all depends on how the Visigrad group regards Russia - especially with Poland there. It would be nice if Ukraine could be broken up and they could all take back the lands and people that should be part of their own countries. They have been treated like second class citizens these past years.

That is EXACTLY what I've been thinking. The tendency would be that Russia would be eager to dominate the other Visegád nations much as the U.S. is doing in NATO and the UN. Could Russia see itself as an equal partner in such a union? Hmmmm. I can't see it happening that way. But it could be possible. As far as I know, none of the Visegád nations is considered "head honcho", ignoring the fact that Visegrád is in Hungary of course. Maybe as a loosely coherent entity it might work?

    Yes, especially Poland for sure

This is the Left Wing Conspiracy Version of things.
No mention that most Americans found Assad's brutal treatment of his own people offensive.
That's a factor - we can argue over how MUCH of a factor, but you failed to mention it.

So why didn't the Americans just stop the bidding and take the oil under the pretext of
having spent their money in blood? Why didn't America just invade Venezuela? It's
closer, easier and has more oil? The Saudis and Russia undercut American oil producers
(they need a minimum of about $35 a barrel to break even) so why don't the Americans
go to war against them as well?
The Left will use the "only for the oil" excuse to demonize America, when plainly it's rarely
about oil, and when it is about oil, it's about how some nations use oil to abuse other nations
or their own people (think Saddam Hussein.)

Personally I think Russia would treat them equally and not be threatened as long as they are not controlled by the US. But will they be independent?

    Yes, especially Poland for sure

Most Americans only know what the TV tells them - and they lie, as does our government. We do have Syrians living here though, and the stories they tell are a lot different from what the media says.

Don't you think it strange that when the media was saying that Assad was brutal to his own people, that Poroshenko who was killing his own people - mostly civilians in the Donbas, was never mentioned.

U.S. manipulation is always a danger.

Not if your above observation turns out for the worse. I mean, I don't know about you, but I find it astounding that the U.S. succeeded in getting away with the illegal invasion of Irak over the lie about WMD's and not a single American responsible has gone to prison. So ..... U.S. manipulation of Visegrád would definitely prevent both the Group and the individual nations from being independent within it. It would probably require for Russia to flex some muscle to keep the U.S. out and then we'd have Russian dominance over Visegrád anyway. :heartbreaker:

Wrong again jenny Hun....no ukie in me whatsoever....German/English and Swedish/German...sorry to disappoint you.

Just a note....Russkis have always had an "inferiority complex" compared to real Europeans. It's that mongol kink in their gene pool that makes them feel that way,you understand.:)) Russkis are like "Bassett hounds" of the Europeans.

Because the cost of security at those Iraqi oil wells would have been higher than what that free oil was worth. China and Russia did not have to worry about this as their cost of security was much lower. China and Russia were not hated, US were and are hated by Iraqies. BTW Russia and China bid under $2 per barrel for all the oil fields
