In my sixty one years I have only found several chunks of information that I believe could produce a massive shift in the direction of world peace if they could be accepted by perhaps five or ten percent of humanity who at this time tend to disagree with these ideas.

Here is one that I feel is the most promising........... basically....... this concept if extrapolated on implies that the bulk of the population of Ireland...... or any other nation for that matter.... could well be my own great, great, great, great, great..... granddaughters and grandsons from one or more of my possible past lives.

We really should actually care about all people in all nations..... and we should be able to connect with people in any nation that we get the privilege to travel to......... or even debate with on a forum like this.

    http://www.allaboutchristian.com/spirituality/

    Christian Andreason, chapter five:
This concept does not tend to go over well though..... most Blacks on politicalforum do not seem to be comfortable with the possibility that they may have been white..... in some sort of "past life." What kind of scared me was the idea that I may have been a woman in many of my past lives!

What is that white guy doin in my head? (Past life regression under hypnosis).

    2020 .. the big change.
All over the Arab world people are starting to understand that the Palestinian Bedouins are not the center of the world.
They took our billions and built terror tunnels.
They took our billions and invested in missles.
They took our billions and stole it.
    No more moaners.
    Peace for peace.

Fascinating. Particularly the part about the different factions within the Jewish community. In the simplified sound bites that we get for history they come across as one homogeneous group.

So politics and money are the defining impetus here? No surprise really

In my 73 years I have been to Ireland once, Israel twice, and every Arab nation in the region except Jordan. I have seen enough and I want nothing more to do with any of them.

No it was created by the league of nations followed by the UN.
The British were just guardians for that and actually did what they could to foil the plan to give the Jews the right of self determination.

Exactly, yes. The scenario was repeated when the U.S. was tasked to be guardians of the Democratic elections in Vietnam. They too did what they could to foil that plan ...... as we are all well aware. :machinegun:

Indeed. According to Lilienthal US Jews were 100% against Zionism and ethnic nationalism in general until East European Jews started arriving. I think it caught on easier with them due to the Political system they lived under where each ethnicity voted for someone within their ethnicity to represent them. Christian Zionists had been trying to put Jews into Israel from when they got their bibles wrongly believing that was what they said. The Church of Scotland claims it was one of theirs who coined the phrase 'a land for people for a people without a land' and they did that because it was an imperial age and it was believed that any land which was not ruled/owned by white people was empty.

Most Jews saw Zionism as antisemitism because it agreed with and worked with antisemites. The Zionists agreed that it was Jews who caused antisemitism and that the only way to stop it was for them to have their own State. This went very much with what had been going on in Europe for a couple of hundred years when people had been trying to set up states with people who they thought shared their ethnicity and in that Jews being spread all over the place did not necessarily fit in. Also at this time Jews like Christians were beginning to give up their religion. There were getting rights and there was no real reason why they should not fit in. I think it was a German who in the 1880's invented antisemitism. Unlike previous hatred towards Jews from Christians because of their religion, this was not about religion at all. It was because they had decided that given that Judiasm came from the Middle East, so must Jews. Therefore it was correct as far as they were concerned to not see Jews as having the same ethnicity as them. Had of course they used the same argument to themselves then they too being Christian ought to have been heading back to the Middle East. Herzel who was the founder of Political Zionism had previously tried to get all Jews to be made Catholic believing that if Jews just integrated they would be able to fit in but after the Dreyfus he changed his mind and developed the idea that Jews would always bring antisemitism and so the only thing to do was to find their own state. He also believed that antisemites would be his biggest helpers and worked with them. They did indeed help them. Even the Nazis supported the Jewish State. Ken Livingstone got branded the worst antisemite since the world began for saying this a few years ago.

The early Zioinsts agreed with European ethnic nationalists that they were a particular 'race' who hence like others in Europe deserved their own state. Palestine was not the first offer of a state.

Political Zionism though began with antisemitism or Jew Hatred. It came from antisemetic Christians. Once they got their printed version of the bible they believed they had found a way to get rid of Jews and that none other than God demanded it. It was killing two birds with one stone. Balfour had been called out as an antisemite before he signed the Balfour Declaration.

Most Jews as I hear believed in them being wanderers, did not accept racism and wanted to be part of the society where they were living. They strongly, on moral grounds, did not want a state and to be treating others as they had been treated. Most Europen countries were soon giving Jews equal rights with everyone else and they wanted to stay where they were living. Those wanting to emmigrate as I said wanted to move to either the States or Western Europe. In Poland in Eastern Europe which had the most Jews in Europe where they had been living a long time, most Jews were anti zionists. As I said most Jews saw Political Zionism as antisemetic as it blamed Jews for antisemitism. Although Jews would speak at one of their festivals about returning to Jerusalem, this was seen as a spiritual aspiration rather than a physical one until political zionism began.

Political Zionism comes from that background. Even after WW2 when Zionists went to the Displaced Persons Camps and managed to get themselves a position of authority, the first poll of how many Jews wanted to move to Israel was very small. I cannot remember the number but certainly under 20%. The Zionists refused to allow out of the camps Jews who were not moving to Israel unless they had health problems until the UN two state vote. The Zionists would tell the Jews who had suvived the holocaust that they were traitors if the would not move to Israel. Jews around the world wanted to bring orphaned children out of the camps to help their physical health and to psychologically recover. UK Jews did one of these camps. They only got a chance to do one. Zionists wanted all the orphaned children in Palestine. Anyway after all this I do not think they managed to get half of the Jews in the camps to move to Israel. Many who did then died in the first war. Others suffered abuse, being called things like 'soap'. It seems it was after the Eichman trial that top Zionists understood how the holocaust could be good for them and their discourse changed. It is Israe; who has worked at getting the position of speaking for all Jews and telling them that there home is in Israel. I have heard many Jews complain about this. Not all Jews agree with what Israel gets up to. She most certainly does not speak for all Jews.

I understand it was not till the 60's that most American Jews started to support Zionism. This seems to have come about by various means. Possibly the most important, they managed to get Americans to identify antizionism with antisemitism though as Lilienthal says in his book written in 53, they had been trying that already for some time. The other thing that changed in the 60's came as a result of the 7 day war. American Christian Zionists believed Israel winning was an act of God rather than realising that if you destroy others military before the war begins you have a good chance of winning. However there was another difference that happened after the 7 day war and that was that the US's alliance with Israel became very strong. It then seems that it was being a good American to associate with Israel and I have read that that helped to push people in that direction. I have read many times that if you look at American Jewish Papers you will be unlikely to even see Israel mentioned before 68.

The US State Department of which Liliental worked was strongly against the UN two state decision because it believed that if two states were created Israel would always be at war always saying it was because she had to for defence but she would really be taking more land and this would result in perpetual war in the area. The US also believed that given it had said its place was against colonialism and was well received by the arab States, if the US supported Israel Colonisation of Palestine, this would correctly be seen by the Arabs as the US going against its word. On both of those they were correct. This view of the State Department is why it took until 68 for the US to have a strongly acknowledged alliance with Israel.

Politics in the form of ethnic racism States yes and I don't think that has ever changed in Israel though there certainly were Jews who wanted something different. Money - although a lot of money was invested in Israel I don't think it could be said the motivation was money. Israel claims the reason for their state was to get away from antisemitism. However Rabi Yaakov Shapiro believes that Zionisinm was not about escaping antisemetism but about escaping Judaism in order to act towards others as antisemites did towards Jews.

I have to admit that the image of Palestinians burning greenhouses in Gush Katif due to the fact that they had been made by Israeli Jews would tend to make anybody somewhat discouraged as to their being any real hope to shift the mentality in that region.

And speaking of history we can go all the way back to the time of the Bar Kochba Revolt for another intriguing angle on all this......

Are the Palestinians the Jews NOT expelled from Judaea after Bar Kochba Revolt?

How prevalent is belief in the theory that the Palestinians may actually be the great, great, great, great grandchildren of the Messianic Jews who WERE NOT expelled from the Holy Land due to their ancestors NOT joining in the Bar Kochba Revolt?

I really liked the Tsvi Misinai writings and theories on this.

This is a rather impressive post by you Alexa.... I have got to read this all again..... for the record..... .I admit it..... you have a significantly higher IQ than I do................ so it may take me a while to catch up.......... but you may find it at least somewhat intriguing that since the 1970's I have felt that I may have at least a little bit of DNA in me from the lost tribes of Israel........ and my plan is to attempt to convince Latter day Saints or other groups to become involved in assisting the Jewish people to fulfill Ezekiel chapters forty to forty eight because what is meant by Ezekiel chapter forty seven...... both literally was well as metaphorically........ sure sounds like good news for Israeli Jews.... Israeli Palestinians...... Jordanians... .Egyptians and everybody in the Middle East over the longer term.

If my efforts all over the internet to rouse up support for assisting the Orthodox Jews to fulfill Ezekiel chapter forty to forty eight works..... the thought has crossed my mind that I might just be invited to retire to Israel............ and a couple of years ago I even found out that my Ecuadorian wife could apply for her Spanish citizenship due to her mom's maiden name being part of the community of Jews who had been expelled from Spain five centuries ago.

The Latter day Saints did what I thought was a great job on this poll. (So how does this relate to Palestinians you may ask? You might be surprised how many Muslims actually risk their lives due to their belief.... . in agreement with me..... that the Jews have got to fulfill Ezekiel chapters forty to forty eight)!

I believe that Islamic scholar and rather famous person Mr. Adnan Oktar has great faith in the possibility of the Middle East becoming utopian within a couple of centuries. He risks his life on a daily basis to proclaim his support for the literal fulfillment of Ezekiel chapters forty to forty eight by Jews.................... and it would be a huge shift if more Palestinian leaders took his ideas seriously.

    Israel is an apartheid.

Assuming we don't go back to being an apartheid, that will slowly increase tensions between the two countries, until the relationship changes.

The longer we wait to realign the relationship to reflect reality, the more traumatic the change will be when it inevitably happens.

    On the other hand.........
whatever area is alluded to by Ezekiel chapters forty to forty eight has to be in the hands of people who actually want those verses fulfilled....... ( that is my understanding of the larger picture anyway)?!

I got back an intriguing response to this idea over here:

Could there be two Jerusalem Third Temples?

    More information here:

Aryeh B's post sounds kind of scary but...... "a film devoid of conflict is boring." (R. W.)

Artistic Hollywood style "Armageddon" could bring world out of recession?!

.... and create some seriously good paying jobs in the film industry for Israelis and Palestinians as well!

    What? You saw this?

This was just another nasty dehumanising tale about the Palestinians which has virtually no reality.

The Israelis who were being evicted from Gaza destroyed about half of the greenhouses. Then was the small bit of Palestinian involvement which was some looting of irrigation material, water pumps etc but this still left the remaining greehouses structurally intact.

Then the Palestinians got an enormous investment put into the project. This included $5 million to sort the greenhouses out which allowed them to get the greenouses in to top condition, hire workers and come up with a magnificent harvest. Their harvest was said to be worth $20,000,000. That is in greenouses you believe they have destroyed!!!!!

In order to get the produce to markets they would have needed to get 25 truckloads per day through the Karni crossing which was supposed to be open 24/7 according to an international agreement. Israel however knowing that the people of Gaza had this good harvest that it wanted to get to market very rarely opened the crossing and when it did only for a short time so that the amount of trucks they were able to get through in a day was rarely more than three. This resulted in the Greenhouse project loosing hundreds of thousands of dollars each week.

In Feb 2006 the BBC reported that the Palestinains were being refused access to the crossing to get their harvest to market.

    https://mondoweiss.net/2014/08/propaganda-dehumanize-palestinians/

By April 2006 there was no money left to pay workers and the project was shut down.

Israel did not allow Gaza access to these trade routes and it was not because their was any security need that she kept the Karni crossing closed. It was to stop trade. Once the Palestinians had had to give up the project because there was no money and it was obvious that Israel would not allow them to sell their produce, Israel opened the border.

    https://mondoweiss.net/2014/08/propaganda-dehumanize-palestinians/

Some people go as far as saying that the Palestinians of Gaza had everything they could need to succeed. However Banks had made it absolutely clear that unless Gazans were to move freely and have access to trade routes it would suffer a horrendous poverty. If these crossings were kept open, they could be expected to do quite well. The crossings as I have shown were not kept open. There was no security reason for this.

I cannot remember which but either Gas or oil was found in Gaza. Here too Israel stopped the Palestinians being able to utilise this.

This is the sort of behaviour from Israel that the Palestinians have had to put up with. They were left with no possibility of functioning through the normal means.

Here is an article talking about how OAC was right to withdraw from attending this engagement.

If Rabin was a Peacemaker it was only for the last 4 years of his life. That is what this article is looking at. Was Rabin really going to provide a two state solution as many of us believed?

The article goes on to point out that it was not Rabin who initiated talks on a two state solution byt Yasser Arafat in 1973. Arafat at that time staked everything on his willingness to get a resolution by him giving Israel 78% of the Palestinian land as long as the Palestinians could have the remaining 22% for a congruent viable state.

The article then slams Arafat for selling the Palestinians out

and finishes by giving a little hint about what Rabin was really like
    https://www.972mag.com/yitzhak-rabin-oslo-accords-aoc/

I know I was originally sold on the idea he was a man of Peace. It was an Israeli who first pointed out to me that Rabin was no man of peace. She said the reason he went for the two state solution was because Shin Bet told him that if there were not a two state solution, there never would long term be a Jewish State and I know this was the thinking of Shin Bet because sometime ago a video of theirs was given to UK Parliamentarians who were having a vote on recognising a Palestinian State asking people to work to move the Israeli Political Class who they said, not one of whom had ever genuinely worked for a two state solution. At the time I was thinking 'What of Rabin'. I can see why they did not mention him as he too was in no way working for a two state solution.

.... to say it but Hamas got it right.

    OK...

So I'd like to ask the mature BDS champions here - why do you think your Gov will accept the Hamas charter or agenda or whatever....in face of Israeli - Arab new treaties and a more distant...chance for a peaceful agreement with the Palestinians?

Your post is a perfect example of how disinformation works.

Mondoweiss illustrate their article with a photo of a thriving carnation greenhouse, claiming it's in Gaza.

Well, it's not. The photo originally illustrates an advertisement for an Indian company.
    https://www.indiamart.com/proddetail/polyhouse-construction-services-6603874730.html

    India. Not Gaza. India.

Please explain why should I - or anyone - believe a word from an article that begins with a big fat lie.

And surely Muslims should be suspicious of collaborating with a plan hatched by Atheists in Russia in the 1970's that pits them against Jews and Christians who actually share many common fundamental beliefs?

This is an ancient Islamic prophecy:

    It reminds me of:

    Isaiah 35:1

The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.

...... 6 Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.

And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
