The Trump administration’s coronavirus task force stepped up its calls for Americans to wear masks as cases surge in some states but Vice President Mike Pence said there are no plans to override governors who have yet to require them.

“Please, please, please wear a face covering when you go out in public,” Surgeon General Jerome Adams, a member of the task force, said at a briefing Tuesday.

    You still don’t get it!
The problem is not the message that atlas was trying to push. The problem lies in a for-profit corporation openly censoring government official who advises our president on our current health emergency.

No, I don't want them to censor anything, but I also don't want the federal government having the authority to say to a private platform "you can have terms and services and policies or whatever and you can ban other people but NOT government officials".

    Thats horrifying.

I'm saying that if you think surgical masks will prevent you from being infected with the coronavirus you're a fool.

Medical science, the manufacturers of the masks, and common sense say they won't.

Not at all. It's a direct assault on our constitutional freedoms by a hostile enemy; and it has to be reigned in to the fullest degree possible, and by every means available.

So then you support censoring certain speech. Speech you don’t approve of.

No I don't support censoring any speech. I also don't support the federal government telling Twitter that they are fully allowed to ban Nightmare515 from their platform if they so desire but they are not allowed to ban a federal government official.

If they can ban other people for stuff then they can ban government officials as well. Or are you in favor of government officials having protections that you and I don't have?

Yah it’s sad that our own executive branch is so dishonest and dysfunctional.
Disclaim: the following is not intended as a comparison or to suggest it’s the same thing!
Should the media In nazi Germany have promoted hitlers conspiracy theories about aryan supremacy or Jews? So long as a govt advisor was the source, they should have right?

Total hogwash. For as long as there's been "science," science has been wrong. Much of it is wrong today, and much of it will be wrong tomorrow, and beyond tomorrow.

Science is an ever changing exploratory process; often wrong; never certain, and always debatable.

All the experts in the field say wear masks, and here is the important part....there’s no danger in wearing one even if they’re wrong! If atlas is wrong there is significant danger.

Yes, the entire medical community has been lying for the whole year. They've been caught lying and they're continuing to lie as we think masks can protect us from this viral infection. And then there's Redfield, openly sabotaging his colleague in the media. What a nice piece of work he is. That's behavior that's worse than Donald Trump.

200,000 dead to use the Democrats talking point clearly shows that masks aren't working.

No, did government tell Twitter to ban their own official or did Twitter make that determination on their own?

If Twitter did that on their own then why are you advocating the government mandate that they can't ban that guy but they can ban me? Why is a government official afforded protections on Twitter that I can't have as a citizen?

I see idiots without masks every time I go out. Hell just turn on a trump rally sometime. No masks, no distancing.

When did I advocate a governnment mandate? That’s right, I didn’t. You just made that up.

They are lying to manipulate the public in order to ration respirators. Folks in the medical community are concerned that if too many people know the truth, that masks won't protect you, there will be a shortage of respirators for themselves.
