Less traffic, not so much cargo moving around on vessels

    Is It True?

    Victoria has been liberated.

    https://news.yahoo.com/asia-today-australia-reports-no-034024249.html

CANBERRA, Australia (AP) — Australia has recorded no new locally transmitted coronavirus infection for the first time in five months.

In Melbourne, the capital of Victoria state, which had the highest number of cases in the country, residents on Sunday enjoyed the first weekend of cafes, restaurants and pubs reopening to walk-in customers. . . .

Any bets on how long before a lockdown

Partially true. Masks, distancing, 25 kilometre radius for travel continue.
Shops open and you can leave your house for any reason.

no bets taken for if a lockdown will be reinstated.

I keep hearing about large groups of unmasked and undistanced morons socialising.

Sigh ..... yes. For a multitude of reasons (none of them good), a certain segment of the population can't get through a week without going to a gym/cafe/restaurant/club/shopping mall.

Australia has been something of a study on this stuff. It's patently obvious now, that the above activities are 99% of the problem. They're like transfer stations ... from which people take it home or to their workplace. What makes it so infuriating is that none of those types of places require our presence. It's ALL optional. We have to go to work and we have to be at home, but we don't ****ing need to go to the gym/club/cafe/restaurant/shops.

Friend of mine bought a gun today. Like many people he’s concerned about the climate surrounding the election. He made his selection, bought the piece and left. Then realized it takes *hours* less time to buy a gun in Georgia than it does to vote there.

Unlike Australia, the law does not require either.

Don’t you think that’s bizarre? Both rights are enshrined in the Constitiution but one right is easier to exercise than the other.

If that were respected why does gun ownership
require license, permits, registration, and maybe a class
    in many States.

Meanwhile, you guys gave up yours.

Guns aren’t as important to Australians, compared with Americans.

I’m peaceable and Mum told me never to fight like that. Looks common!
    Unless it’s over toilet rolls.

Victoria is about to acquire the
    biggest battery farm, ever.

    https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/elon-musks-battery-farm-total-201900572.html

Elon Musk's Battery Farm Has Been a Total Triumph.
    Here Comes the Sequel.

Victorian Big Battery Megapack will be built about 40 miles outside Melbourne, and it’s double even the upgraded size of the existing Hornsdale Power Reserve. Like Hornsdale before, the Victorian Big Battery Megapack will become the largest facility of its kind in the world.

    <edit>
As a refresher, in 2016, South Australia experienced a near total blackout after a crazy storm brought 80,000 lightning strikes and at least two tornadoes to the area. When a politician blamed the blackouts on the push for renewable energy, Musk and Tesla bet they could power the area with the company's PowerPacks within 100 days—and did it in 60.

Will the useful life span of the battery and maintenance costs
    become a problem?
