I'm not canceling my Thangsgiving...!!! You lied about x15 days to 'flatten the curve', about masks.

LOL.. Telling Fauci to stay home wasn't exactly the point. It was begging the question does he eat his own dog food, and the answer, of course it that he does not. So just saying but superficial isn't going to cut it here.

You might like the "face diaper" entry in my 'Cult of the Mask' Almanac then...

    https://politiplex.freeforums.net/thread/68/cult-mask?page=1&scrollTo=161

I like the term "face diaper" as well. But I've more-so been using my self-dubbed term "face shackle" as of recently, since I've now been focusing more-so on the mental slavery aspect of this baloney...

The original topic was NOT """"the decision about who should be let into any gathering of any kind is made by the gathering's organizers and/or participants. ""

It was my (still unanswered) question...""" check everyone's temp at the door and when your brother-in-law is told he has a fever and can't enter but his wife and kids can what will he do? Go sit in his car until you've all gorged yourself and spread a disease all for a silly assinine TRADITION ???

Of course I'm free to make suggestions, although I don't know why you think I should.

    But here's a good one:
, don't have them if you love your family and friends.

Or a crowded dining room in someone's home. Those with a temp must remain outside...:)

Good one, foxhastings... you're catching on. I agree. If a person is running a temperature, the place to be is away from other people.

It was an odd, circuitous path, but we finally got on the same track, I think.... Have a lovely weekend.

What point are you making? I don't see anyone stopping you celebrating Thanksgiving. Just be aware of the risks and consequences and what precautions you can take.

A lot will depend on the area you live in and how sensible the invitees are

I think the yo-yo syndrome has a lot to do with the false sense of security people get when they wear their masks.

When there's a lockdown, people are less likely to go out at all, so it flattens the curve; but when it reopens again, they go out publicly with their masks on, thinking they have some kind of protection when they really don't; because unbeknowenst to them, their masks are useless.

the right refused to wear masks and social distance afterwards, so it's rising again

Trump lied and said it would be 15 going on zero, then disappear like magic when it got warmer... and on and on - yet, it's still here

The "left" has been caught without its mask from the beginning - whenever it thinks no one is paying attention. ;-)

Weird question when you stop to think that every four years we vote on whom to issue the nuclear football to; and -- regarding most voters -- never consider real world experience more important than political affiliation.

Oh, I believe you want me to supply an 'answer' as to why people want to have gatherings like Thanksgiving in the first place...? The 'answer' is because they WANT to, I suppose.

Why do people do ANYTHING, foxhastings...? Surely we can find something more discernible and interesting to spar over, since that is what your faction and mine do about 98% of the time.... :icon_fork:

GoodGawd , Wrong again...the question was..." check everyone's temp at the door and when your brother-in-law is told he has a fever and can't enter but his wife and kids can what will he do?""

See, in that question I never asked why people WANT to have gatherings...do you see it anywhere in that question? Nope.

OK, you don't want to answer the original question....I got that...

Yes, foxhastings, you 'got' it. Enjoy the moment if you feel that this represents some measure of triumph for you.

I said that people running a temperature now should not (NOT) mingle with others -- PERIOD! I meant what I said -- and that is the only 'answer' you will get from me. Whether being separated from other people disrupts one's holiday festivities is a peripheral matter which I won't go into... my only motives here are to retard or cancel the spread of a pandemic disease. Have a nice day, foxhastings.... 8)

nope, even politicians forget, but why is she so exited over this pick that she hugged him in the first place?

or does he have a health problem we do not know about? and that was more of a sympathy hug?

could this be why they're trying to ram this pick through?

    That's not a CDC article.

It's an article in a journal, with this footnote:

The conclusions, findings, and opinions expressed by authors contributing to this journal do not necessarily reflect the official position of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Public Health Service, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or the authors' affiliated institutions.

    Yes, I know.

You prefaced the excerpt with this, giving the misleading impression that it was a communication/report by the CDC:

"The CDC has admitted that masks do not stop viruses, but they make a lot of sense for anyone living in a surveillance state."
