-Democrats bully, intimidate electors in 2016 to overturn election results
-Democrats sue states in 2016 to overturn election results
-Democrats illegally spy on Trump's campaign to unseat legitimately elected President
-Democrats spend 3 year on what literally was a witch hunt and a fishing expedition to unseat legitimately elected president
-Democrats impeach the President on absolutely ludicrous pretenses
-Democrats threaten with riots, violence, strikes if they don't win.
-Democrats try to circumvent the constitution by concocting some dumb Popular vote based scheme

but you are not concerned with what the Dems have already done even though they are openly declaring that they will do infinitely worse this time around. Instead you're worried about rumors about Trump... which btw cut both ways, I've seen articles describing how Trump can win Michigan or Wisconsin and the democratic government of those states will just replace the electors with democrats... Let's separate what's real from the rumors, the list of what the Dems have already done is real.

I frankly think that Trump didn't make these things real because he won. I'm concerned about what he will do if he loses. And I'm not talking about rumors. I'm talking about what Trump himself said in public television, and what a named person said (no anonymous source), the Pennsylvania GOP chairman. And what's with his insistence that Biden and Hunter must be indicted and arrested? He was seriously saying this to Barr. That's stuff for dictatorships.

But I grant you that the Dems are no saints either.

I just hope that the people will vote and the fair and square results will be honored, regardless of who wins. I am concerned, though. We've been more and more divided and radicalized.
I am afraid this election will be messy and violence will ensue, and the mess may make Gore v. Bush look like a difference of opinion if Coke is tastier than Pepsi or vice-versa among two elementary school kids.

Faster yes, better we don't know we have the word of two governments with a history of lying whenever it suits them. Slower is almost entirely because under our system even warp speed takes a while. And while it can take a while it has saved us from a few disasters like thalidomide babies. None the less the fact that it is slow isn't Trump's fault, given the fact that the last vaccine we developed took about 10 years I'd say on the verge in 9 months is damn fast. By the way Pfizer backed over legal concerns. Note you can't hardly turn on a TV set without seeing and about some pharmaceutical company being sued. They were hoping for legal protection in case something went in the crapper that Trump couldn't get them.

No one will support Trump if he cleanly loses. This is nonsense.

The dems on the other hand are not even hiding that if Trump wins the electoral vote and does not win the [non-existent] popular vote, they will riot, will refuse to acknowledge the legitimacy of the election, they will threaten with secession, they will pressure Democrat governors of states like Michigan or Wisconsin to send anti-Trump electors...

In fact a progressive think tank war-gamed election scenarios. In just one of them out of four, in case of Biden's landslide they did not anticipate riots... In all other scenarios they predicted leftist violence. Look it up.

So the Bernie Bolsheviks are revolting? Is this history repeating?

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communism_in_Russia#/search

Will the Bernie Bros not accept the government and revolt? Looks like we will soon be the old Soviet Union. Who has the hairdo to be Stalin?

Rounding up and putting people into camps is more of a leftist thing.

What governments are lying? China, I'll grant you that they are suspicious, but the State Government of the State of São Paulo, Brazil, are no liars, and I personally know several scientists from the Instituto Butantan and they are no liars, either. The Butantan is extremely serious and prestigious, and highly respected by the international scientific community. They exist for more than 100 years and have made important discoveries. They are a fine, fine research institution and vaccine makers of the highest quality. I entirely trust the information released by the Butantan. They are doing their own tests with 13,000 volunteers, all health care workers, and I personally verified in a phone call with one of my buddies there, that the data presented by the Chinese was confirmed locally. The government of Russia lies too. Their phase 1 paper published in the Lancet raised red flags for inconsistencies. But the Chinese this time appear to be playing by the books. I guess it's a Public Relations issue for them. They took such a hit with the virus itself, they are being straightforward about the vaccine, trying to catch up and earn some goodwill back. While I fully understand that the Chinese often lie, this time I don't think they are lying, because there was independent confirmation by much more reliable people.

About protection against lawsuits for vaccine makers, I entirely agree. I posted about it at some point, I don't recall if here or in another forum I used to be a member of. It is entirely justified because unlike medications that are given to thousands of people up to a few million, vaccines are given to billions, so even very tiny percentage of adverse reactions which come with the the territory and can't be 100% avoided which is the case for every medication and every vaccine known to men (and are often much less prevalent than the ravages of the disease that is being prevented), get blown to high numbers when you plot those tiny percentages to billons, so, without these precautions, making vaccines would be economically inviable if all those people sued. So the choice is, we either grant lawsuit protection to vaccine makers, or we chose to live in a world without vaccines.

The poster with whom I was discussing the issue said "if a company puts in the market a defective product, they must be punished." What the poster didn't realize is that these vaccines with a tiny tiny percentage of adverse reactions that get blown up to high numbers *because they are given to billions* (as in, 0.01% of billions is still a high number) are NOT defective products. They are good products. But every good medication and every good vaccine, although they are good in treating and preventing serious diseases and have passed appropriate phase 3 studies, will still cause reactions in a tiny percentage of people. So what would happen without the protections, would be that a company putting in the market a GOOD product would be punished. That's not right.

The protections should have exceptions for damage caused by bad products known to be flawed and released anyway... but it's not the case of the overwhelming majority of vaccines. Even the big fiasco of the Guillain-Barré reactions in 1976 only increased the risk of GBS in 1 case out of 100,000 and of those who got it, only a dozen or so died. This, out of 46 million people vaccinated. Now, plot that to the deaths caused by the Swine Flu that the vaccine was preventing... several thousands... and you'll understand that even a flawed vaccine does make sense. But I'm not even talking about flawed vaccines. I'm talking about good ones.

I am completely against these lawsuits. There needs to be transparency. A vaccine maker needs to give to every person taking it, a piece of paper detailing what the reactions can be and what percentage of those reactions has been found in tests and trials. The person then needs to make a decision. If the person accepts the vaccine then the person is also accepting the risks. The person is understanding that the benefits - avoiding a nasty disease - in most cases outweigh the risks. So if the person is willing to take it to reap up the benefits and despite the risks, it means the person is forfeiting the right to sue, as long as the disclosure is transparent and complete.

The disclosure should also say "and potential unknown adverse reactions at this time." The disclosure needs to happen regarding what is known. Nobody has a crystal ball.

Anyway, do away with this understanding, and no company would be making vaccines. Good bye Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Novavax, Johnson and Johnson, etc. Let's bring back rabies, polio, measles, small pox, tetanus, etc. Is that what these people who protest against these protections for vaccine makers, want to accomplish?

    These are your BLAMING words!

Why do you BLAME poor people for being BORN into POVERTY?

Why you BLAME poor people for being "lazy" when you have NO evidence that they are "lazy"?

Why you BLAME poor people for being "undisciplined" when you have NO evidence that they are "undisciplined"?

Wanna bet that if Trump loses there will be rightist violence? "Stand back and stand by..."

Borat, it's not nonsense. Have you read Kavanaugh's opinion in the Wisconsin case, and Kagan's dissent? Look it up, it's public record.

What he said is very concerning, trying to say that we can't count votes past midnight on election night and everything needs to be tallied by then... "chaos and suspicions of impropriety that can ensue if thousands of absentee ballots flow in after election day and potentially flip the results of an election." Kagan on the other hand said: "Justice Kavanaugh alleges that ‘suspicions of impropriety’ will result if ‘absentee ballots flow in after election day and potentially flip the results of an election.’ But there are no results to ‘flip’ until all valid votes are counted. And nothing could be more ‘suspicious’ or ‘improper’ than refusing to tally votes once the clock strikes 12 on election night. To suggest otherwise, especially in these fractious times, is to disserve the electoral process.”

See, this is preposterous. Kavanaugh was in Bush's legal team at the time of Bush v. Gore, and at the time, he didn't insist that only the votes counted by midnight should count... Especially given that most absentee ballots were military ballots that traditionally favor the Republican. Oh oops, now he flip-flopped. Coincidentally, it happened now that 4 out of every 5 request for an absentee ballot came from heavily blue areas.

Well, in this decision, all four other conservatives sided with Kavanaugh so it was 5-3... and now we'll have a sixth one. At least in the Pennsylvannia decision it was 4-4 with Chief Justice Roberts siding with the liberals, and the lower court allowing votes received up to 3 days after the election, stood, given the tie... but now with Barrett, that decision would most certainly go 5-4. Justice Roberts will be unable to stop it.

Not only that, but Kavanaugh's opinion is that the State Supreme Court in a state should be overruled if they decided to count the ballots. Well, that's the exact opposite of what he said in Bush v. Gore. Then, he said that the Florida Supreme Court should be sovereign and the feds should not interfere with a state's right to rule on its own rules and constitution. Again, why the change, now?

I'm telling you, this doesn't smell good. I think the judicial fix is in.

In my opinion it is very clear where this is going. Mark my words. We'll see if you'll still say C'mon man after the full-blown mess is unleashed.

But again, I sincerely hope that you are right and I'm wrong.

Biden is definitely a puppet. The question is whether the strings are going to be pulled by RINOs/DINOs or Progressives? Or will the moderates be grabbing the strings in the right hand and extremists have controls of strings in the left hand of the puppeteer? It won't be boring, that's for sure.

Progressive are more than 15% of Americans. Socialist Sanders and Progressive Warren would have beaten Joe Biden and won the DNC nomination if only one of them had been in the contest. With both running, they split the Progressive vote.

Excellent post! It is reassuring to read a post written by somebody moderate who obviously knows what he's talking about! Quite a change from the idiotic posts I have been reading on this forum. Thank you very much!

Posting images like that one do nothing to give you some credibility!

As far as Biden is concerned, being able to listen to advisers is much better that making decisions based on hunches, as the current moron POTUS does!

Yeah, but this thread isn't about Trump. It isn't about Coronavirus. It isn't even about your opinion about my credibility, believe it or not.

It is about the battle between Progressives and Liberals in the Democrat Party, and how that battle is going to play out once Biden is elected.

    https://www.mercurynews.com/2020/10/20/mcmanus-why-a-biden-presidency-wont-be-boring/

"Will he be the Old Biden, a blandly moderate Democrat who spent decades in the Senate as an apostle of bipartisan compromise?

Or will it be a New Biden, the Democratic nominee whose ambitious, big-spending platform is the most progressive in his party’s history?

Biden has sought to fill both roles at the same time."

    --

Do you have any opinion on the topic at hand, or do you just want to bash Trump and the credibility of your fellow forum members?

    My thoughts exactly.
Being an immigrant, seeing young people born in the US talk about struggles of black Americans, when they haven’t seen wars or a real major collapse of the economy, is astonishing. Or listen to those kids talk about poverty.
It’s like, they have no major struggle to fight, so they manufactured a conflict to drag everyone in.

That is a fine post that describes very well what used to be called The American Way.

I wonder what your thoughts might be regarding designing a system for the delivery of healthcare to all Americans that functions like the system that delivers healthcare to those in the Navy and the rest of the DoD?

Any thoughts regarding the vast disparity of wealth distribution in this fabulously wealthy country that has hordes of homeless people where in some places people are defecating in public and mothers and children live in tents, even as an undeclared war brought under fraud has been going on for 20 years, even as the amount of $ unaccounted for in our War Department is approximately equal to the national debt?

About this fabulously wealthy country having many youngsters trying to achieve what you have achieved being saddled with debt for an education, debt that under present circumstances will never be able to be repaid?

Sad to see the complete death of Classical Liberalism in California.

The Progressives have won the battles and are at Check, leading to a quick Checkmate for Progressive domination in the state's chess game between Liberals and Progressives.

This article indicates that Progressive Governor Newsom could possibly nominate himself to fill future President Kamala Harris's vacant Senate seat, but would probably run for Feinstein's 2024 seat before launching a run for President.

Newsom in the U.S. Senate will be "one more" in the growing number of Progressives in power at the federal level.

Yes, there are rules, there are laws, there is common sense after all. Ballots must arrive on time to be counted, ballots must be properly timestamped, filled out and signed to be counted.
People can go to the polls and vote in person to avoid all this aggravation. Republicans do
People who want to vote absentee can fill out a ballot and mail it one week before November 3rd, how difficult can that be and if it's that difficult, vote in person
Some states allow ballots that are timestamped before the election day even if they arrive later ... make sure the ballot is timestamped, go to the post office if you must.

Paraphrasing a recent legal verdict (not the SCOTUS, a lower court), States must accommodate voters buy they have no responsibility to provide voters with countless number of infallible ways to vote and chase after each and every voter who failed to meet the state's basic legal voting requirements and submit a proper ballot.

So, this topic is about bashing Biden then.

I believe he will be wise enough to listen to the arguments before making well-thought of decisions, and that will be quite a change.

Please note I'm not arguing about the effectiveness of vaccines in General, or their safety. I don't trust Russia or China. Brazil would be no faster than would had they to deal with CDC which at least at the top to be politically driven. And please note, even large scale testing you may well miss something only occurs once every 100000 times so frankly Brazil China and the Soviet Union are a about year away from knowing how safe their products are.
