The guy in this article tried to stab a cop, after stabbing 7 people. He completely deserved to get shot, textbook self defense.

Wallace isn't "charging" at anyone. IF he were charging at a cop with his knife drawn, he would deserve to get shot.
Except...he wasn't. At the moment he gets shot, he's cleary seen walking slowly.

 

Try a non-biased video. Wallace was charging at the two officers who repeatedly told him to drop the knife. You can clearly see the police backing up into the street and the dude just keeps coming at them.

 

If there's an open carry for guns, there's also an unexplained open carry law for all weapons.

That happened 10 seconds before the shots were fired. When the shots were fired, he was walking, not "charging".

 

Even dumb people don't do that. This was drugs and/or mental illness, to be certain. The only thing more tragic than shooting him instead of aprehending him for treatment would be if he killed an innocent bystander during apprehension. It sucks to shoot sick people, but when they're violent, sometimes its still the best call.

Chasing the officer around a car with a knife in your hand is charging. The police were retreating, literally running around a car to avoid him getting close enough to use the knife against them, and the perpetrator continued to advance on them with the knife.

1. It was not an NBC video. Just because NBC uploaded it does not mean it's their video.

2. He was going after the police. That's not debatable. The only reason he didn't get to them is because they were constantly backing up, giving him ample time to put the knife down. He clearly wasn't going to stop until he got to the officers. This is all crystal clear in the video.

This was a 100%, clear as day, justifiable shoot. You have no argument here, but keep going....it's entertaining as hell.
