The Atlantic reports, "The United States is sleepwalking into what could become the largest coronavirus outbreak of the pandemic so far."

The country set a new single-day record of 83,010 coronavirus cases on Friday.

The Atlantic continued. "This third surge is far more geographically dispersed than what the country saw in the spring or summer: The virus can now be found in every kind of American community, from tiny farm towns to affluent suburbs to bustling border cities. This is the first of the American surges with no clear epicenter: From North Carolina to North Dakota, and Colorado to Connecticut, more Americans are contracting COVID-19.

"The United States now reports nearly 68,767 new cases every day. That is the highest average since the pandemic began. Since the middle of September, the number of new cases diagnosed each day has swelled by 73 percent. The number of Americans hospitalized has increased by at least 40 percent."

232,000 Americans have died from the virus, and the daily death toll remains steady.

“I say that all the time. The U.S. is rounding the turn with or without the vaccine,” our President.

CNN reports, "Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner boasted in mid-April about how the President had cut out the doctors and scientists advising him on the unfolding coronavirus pandemic, comments that came as more than 40,000 Americans already had died from the virus, which was ravaging New York City.

"In a taped interview on April 18, Kushner told legendary journalist Bob Woodward that Trump was "getting the country back from the doctors" in what he called a "negotiated settlement." Kushner also proclaimed that the US was moving swiftly through the "panic phase" and "pain phase" of the pandemic and that the country was at the "beginning of the comeback phase."

    The comeback phase
Kushner describes what he sees as the three phases of the pandemic: panic, pain, and the comeback; claiming the comeback started in mid-April.

There were three phases. There’s the panic phase, the pain phase and then the comeback phase. I do believe that last night symbolized kind of the beginning of the comeback phase. That doesn’t mean there’s not still a lot of pain and there won’t be pain for a while, but that basically was, we’ve now put out rules to get back to work. Trump’s now back in charge. It’s not the doctors. They’ve kind of – we have, like, a negotiated settlement.

"The statement reflected a political strategy. Instead of following the health experts' advice, Trump and Kushner were focused on what would help the President on Election Day. By their calculations, Trump would be the "open-up president.'"

Little wonder why Trump's supporters are avoiding Trump.

“One thing we’ve seen in a lot of in the Black community, which is mostly Democrat, is that President Trump’s policies are the policies that can help people break out of the problems that they’re complaining about,” Kushner said in an interview with “Fox & Friends,” the president’s favorite morning cable show. “But he can’t want them to be successful more than they want to be successful.

Much like his father-in-law, Kushner has a big, careless mouth.

Stupidity runs in the family, I guess.

Forbes reports, "White House senior adviser Jared Kushner said in an interview with Washington Post columnist Bob Woodward that Trump had executed a “hostile takeover” of the Republican Party, according to audio obtained by CNN, underscoring the divisions between the Trump White House and more traditional GOP figures.

"Kushner called political parties “collections of tribes” and referred to the GOP as a “collection of a bunch of tribes.”

"Kushner said the Republican Party platform is a document crafted by activists and “meant to piss people off.” “He basically did a full hostile takeover of the Republican Party,” Kushner said of Trump.

Trump himself encouraged this line of thought.

At a rally in Pennsylvania on Tuesday he called RINOs – a disparaging term for Republicans viewed as insufficiently conservative – “worse” than Democrats.

“I call them the stupid people. They're the stupid — Most of whom I beat,” Trump said of Republicans he has labeled RINOs.

Trump has idiots working for him in the White House.

The White House science office listed "ending the COVID-19 pandemic" as the top accomplishment of President Trump's first term, even as the U.S. has set records for new daily infections and numerous hospitals across the country are stretched to their breaking points.

According to a press release intended to highlight the administration's science accomplishments, the Trump administration said it "has taken decisive actions to engage scientists and health professionals in academia, industry, and government to understand, treat, and defeat the disease."

    https://thehill.com/policy/healthca...ce-says-trump-ended-covid-pandemic-as-us-hits

The U.S. is now averaging more than 70,000 new cases per day. That is the highest average since the pandemic began. The U.S. continues to lead the world in the number of cases and the number of deaths during the pandemic. Over 233,000 Americans have died from Covid-19 and climbing at the rate of a thousand a day. United States Coronavirus: 9,116,519 Cases and 233,096 Deaths - Worldometer

The White House science office listed "ending the COVID-19 pandemic" as the top accomplishment of President Trump's first term.

"We are not going to control the pandemic," White House chief of staff Mark Meadows.

“No, not at all. In fact, the opposite. Absolutely the opposite. We’ve done an incredible job. The U.S. is absolutely rounding the corner,” our President.

Vote now! What are you waiting for?

Today there are 81,000 new cases of Covid-19 and counting. Yesterday, there were over 81, 500 cases. Earlier this week I reported that the U.S. was averaging over 68,000 new cases per day. Now the average is over 80,000. Americans are dying at a rate exceeding a thousand a day, and, with the surge of new cases, that figure promises to get worse. United States Coronavirus: 9,207,220 Cases and 234,114 Deaths - Worldometer

Trump has virtually cancelled the White House coronavirus task force, not officially, but in reality. Doctors Fauci and Birx are forced to find other means to advise Americans on the threat of the pandemic.

They have been replaced by Doctor Scott Atlas. Unlike Doctors Fauci and Birx, who are epidemiologists, Atlas is a neuroradiologis. He has no background in epidemiology, but he has one important qualification. Trump likes what the former Fox contributor says.

Trump lives in a fantasy world where there is no pandemic. According to our President, it's the fault of the media and testing.

“The Fake News is talking about CASES, CASES, CASES. Media is doing everything possible to create fear prior to November 3rd. The Cases are up because TESTING is way up, by far the most, and best, in the world,” our President stated recently.

When did the GOP become dominated by the intelligence challenged?

In any case, as expected, Atlas agrees with Trump. Naturally, that's why Trump hired him in the first place. Trump likes sycophants. That's why Fauci and Birx are gone. They dealt with reality.

CNN reports, "Shortly after joining the White House as President Donald Trump's pandemic adviser, Dr. Scott Atlas launched a quiet effort that seemed counterintuitive to some of his colleagues -- encouraging officials to limit Covid-19 testing mainly to people experiencing symptoms.

"Atlas, a neuroradiologist, not an infectious disease expert, strongly supported a decision in August to revise federal guidelines to de-emphasize the need to test people without symptoms."

Atlas apparently was unaware that asymptomatic people with Covid-19 can spread the disease to grandma and grandpa as well as others. However, Atlas can be excused. As mentioned, he doesn't know beans about infectious diseases.

Of course, that is why Atlas is Trump's expert on infectious diseases.

CNN added, Atlas "shared his view with state officials, including Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis and several others in Florida. On August 31, Atlas urged DeSantis to focus less on universal testing and more on opening the economy and schools."

Politico reports, "The Republican governor of the president’s must-win battleground state responded by canceling all state coronavirus restrictions without warning, catching local governments and epidemiologists off-guard amid their own strategies to keep the coronavirus contained."

Bars, restaurants, race tracks, hotels, motels, etc all opened without restrictions. DeSantis virtually opened Florida up, which is exactly what Trump wanted him to do.

Florida today has the third largest total number of coronavirus cases behind Texas and California. Florida has roughly 900 less deaths than California. California has approximately twice the population of Florida.

Floridians could easily say, "Thank you, Mr. President. Thank you, Dr. Atlas. Your advice stinks, and we have a foolish Republican governor who followed it."

No, not at all. All I have done is record events, events that have gone unchallenged for months.

    That should be considered significant.

Yesterday there were over 91,800 new cases of the virus and 1,041 Americans died. The average daily death toll tops a thousand. The U.S. leads the world in number of cases, over nine million, and deaths, over 235,000. The worst four days of the pandemic occurred this week. United States Coronavirus: 9,313,211 Cases and 235,136 Deaths - Worldometer

Politico reports, "Adm. Brett Giroir, Trump's coronavirus testing czar, on Wednesday contradicted Trump’s claim that surging coronavirus caseloads in the United States were the result of expanded testing for the disease."

“Yes, we’re getting more cases identified, but the cases are actually going up. And we know that, too, because hospitalizations are going up,” Giroir said in an interview on NBC’s “Today” show.

It is fair to say stupidity runs in the Trump family. They go out of their way to make themselves look stupid.

" Donald Trump Jr. falsely claimed that the number of coronavirus deaths had plummeted to "almost nothing," dismissing the impact of the pandemic on a day in which the U.S. reported a record-breaking number of new cases and roughly 1,000 more deaths," PolitiFact.

Laura Ingraham is a Trump friendly Fox News correspondent. That may no longer be true. "Trump mocked the Fox News host Laura Ingraham, one of his most influential media boosters, for wearing a face mask at his Friday campaign rally in Waterford Township, Michigan, " Business Insider.

Trump was merciless. "I can't recognize you. Is that a mask? No way. Are you wearing a mask? I've never seen her in a mask," Trump said. "Look at you. Oh, she's being very politically correct. Whoa. Whoa." This in front of television cameras and Trump's cheering faithful. Question: How really stupid can you get?

"Last Friday the president told his supporters that the coronavirus pandemic was going to “end quickly." “We’re rounding the turn, we’re rounding the corner, we’re rounding the corner beautifully.” On Tuesday, the White House Office of Science credited the president with “ending the Covid-19 pandemic," Forbes.

As our President lies his way through one super spreader event after another, he is claiming the best we can do under his leadership is to be the worst in the world.

Who do you want in charge of the pandemic for the next four years?

Through it all, Trump's followers remain totally silent.

The medical establishment and the CDC. Neither of which either candidate is a member. The virus will run its course on its own schedule, and the rest of us will mask up or not depending on our own proclivities, regardless of who the President is.

    Yes, I wear a mask.

Trump lies so much in his super spreader events that to throw a light on all of them would require a book. Here are some of the most important ones.

Trump uses his rally speeches to try to convince voters that the worsening coronavirus crisis is actually improving. Even as confirmed new cases, hospitalizations and the test positivity rate all increase, Trump keeps falsely claiming that "we're rounding the turn." And he keeps falsely saying that the spike in cases is merely the result of the US doing more testing, though this assertion has been publicly rejected by Trump's White House coronavirus task force.

The Biden of Trump's speeches plans to eradicate everyone's private health insurance plan; the actual Biden wants to preserve private plans, letting people opt into a public insurance program only if they choose. The Biden of Trump's speeches wants to "completely dismantle law enforcement" and "completely eliminate US borders"; the actual Biden wants to increase federal funding for community policing and to liberalize immigration policy with borders very much still in existence. The Biden of Trump's speeches refuses to condemn the violence in Philadelphia; the actual Biden has condemned the violence both out loud and in writing.

Trump often devotes a chunk of his rally speeches to his serially dishonest effort to undermine confidence in the election in general and mail-in voting in particular.
Trump keeps baselessly suggesting that mail-in voting is rife with "cheating." Though he has consistently trailed in national public polls, he keeps baselessly claiming that the only way he can lose is if his opponents commit "massive fraud." And he has continued to cite either inflated or imaginary supposed examples of nefarious election behavior. He has claimed, for example, that 50,000 ballots were found in a river; that has not occurred.

Trump has become fond of saying that he got impeached merely for calling the president of Ukraine to say congratulations. In fact, Trump got in trouble because he said a whole lot more than congratulations on the call -- such as asking Ukraine's president to investigate Biden.

Trump has continually cherry-picked economic numbers to make the national situation sound better than it is.

Through September, the country was still down more than 10 million jobs from before the pandemic. But Trump keeps telling his rally crowds that he is setting records for job creation, with 11.4 million jobs added in the last five months. That's a real figure, but he doesn't mention that it was preceded by an even bigger record loss of 22.2 million jobs over the previous two months.

Trump has also started touting the record economic growth in the third quarter, a 33.1% annualized and seasonally adjusted rate. He does not mention that, because of the record decline that preceded this gain, the economy is still smaller than it was prior to the pandemic.

Sometimes Trump ignores the pandemic period entirely. He says at rallies that he created 700,000 manufacturing jobs, even though, through September, it was actually a net loss of 164,000 manufacturing jobs since he took office. How does he get to plus-700,000? By stopping the clock in February -- when it was a net gain of 483,000 during his presidency -- and then doing his usual exaggerating.

Through it all Trump's followers remain silent where Trump is concerned. Intelligence level? This may be why.

The Times reports, "Trump has continued to hold onto most of the coalition that elected him in the first place, made up chiefly of rural conservatives (largely farmers) and white voters who did not attend college. In Florida, the president appears to have improved his position somewhat with Hispanic voters over the last four years, but he has slipped significantly with college-educated whites there."

Trump is losing. Biden is currently beating Trump largely because the President has lost the support of white women.

The Times continued, "Joseph R. Biden Jr. holds a clear advantage over President Trump across four of the most important presidential swing states, a new poll shows, bolstered by the support of voters who did not participate in the 2016 election and who now appear to be turning out in large numbers to cast their ballots, mainly for the Democrat.

"Mr. Biden, the former vice president, is ahead of Mr. Trump in the Northern battlegrounds of Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, as well as in the Sun Belt states of Florida and Arizona, according to a poll of likely voters conducted by The New York Times and Siena College. His strength is most pronounced in Wisconsin, where he has an outright majority of the vote and leads Mr. Trump by 11 points, 52 percent to 41 percent.

"The president, who narrowly carried all four states against Hillary Clinton, is now running behind his 2016 vote shares in all of them, a grave position for a sitting president just days before the election. He has also trailed consistently in public polls of Michigan, another large state he captured in 2016."

In light of all this, there isn't much Trump's supporters can say. A sitting President is going to lose and lose badly. Coronavirus notwithstanding, Americans have hurried to the polls to get rid of this President.

Throughout the election campaign, this thread has been highly critical of Trump.

It is highly significant that Trump's followers have been completely silent. Not a word in support of Trump.

    The jig is up!

"At least according to Ben Ginsberg, the single most prominent Republican election lawyer in the country, who, in a scathing piece published Sunday by The Washington Post, called out President Donald Trump (and his legal team) for engaging in a widespread attempt to suppress votes in the 2020 election under the guise of sniffing out voter fraud.
    Wrote Ginsberg:"

"Trump has enlisted a compliant Republican Party in this shameful effort. The Trump campaign and Republican entities engaged in more than 40 voting and ballot court cases around the country this year. In exactly none — zero — are they trying to make it easier for citizens to vote. In many, they are seeking to erect barriers.

All of the suits include the mythical fraud claim.
Many are efforts to disqualify absentee ballots, which have surged in the pandemic. The grounds range from supposedly inadequate signature matches to burdensome witness requirements. Others concern excluding absentee ballots postmarked on Election Day but
received later, as permitted under state deadlines. Voter-convenience devices such as drop boxes and curbside voting have been attacked....

    https://www.cnn.com/2020/11/02/poli...pression-voter-fraud-2020-election/index.html

Not to worry. Trump has been making meaningless threats throughout his Presidency to divide the American people. He has even accused a former President of treason.

It's just talk. No one listens to him except his base, and they believe anything. After the election is over he will be a powerless wounded duck President who loses his job on Jan. 20.

I don't know how many times I have asked this over the years.

    Just how dumb is Trump?

I only know I have never gotten a response from Trump's supporters. They must be in agreement with what I have said in the past.

Just how dumb is Trump? Dr. Fauci is perhaps the number one expert on epidemiology. Trump stopped listening to him months ago, blames Dr. Fauci for the pandemic's effect on the nation's economy, and recently hinted at firing him.

Dr. Fauci has been replaced by Dr. Atlas who is not an epidemiologist, doesn't know beans about epidemiology, but has one huge major qualification. Trump likes what Atlas has to say.

Now we get to the really stupid part.

Atlas is now Trump's chief advisor on the Covid-19 pandemic, and Trump allowed Atlas to appear on a Russian network, the Kremlin's main propaganda arm into the U.S.

Don't believe me? I can hardly blame you. A White House advisor appearing on Russian propaganda television is pretty outrageous, but Trump let it happen. I will allow an expert reveal the details.

NPR writes, "White House coronavirus adviser Dr. Scott Atlas apologized on Sunday for doing an interview with Russia's state-backed RT network, saying he "was unaware they are a registered foreign agent."

"RT, formerly known as Russia Today, is an international television and digital news network financed by the Russian government. The production company behind its U.S. arm, RT America, registered as a foreign agent under the Foreign Agents Registration Act in 2017, meaning its content is labeled as propaganda.

"In the interview published Saturday, Atlas downplayed the severity of the U.S. coronavirus surge and said that lockdowns aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19 are "not impactful" and "killing people."

"The lockdowns will go down as an epic failure of public policy by people who ... were wrong, refused to accept they were wrong, didn't know the data, didn't care, and became a frenzy of stopping COVID-19 cases at all costs and those costs are massive," Atlas said.

    https://www.npr.org/2020/11/01/9301...for-interview-with-kremlin-backed-news-outlet

I told you Trump liked what Atlas had to say.

Trump hinted at firing Dr. Fauci? Good Lord, what an administration. Wow!

In a note of pure irony, millions of Americans have voted for Trump.

Not a one has defended Trump on this thread that is highly critical of the President.

I just don't get that. Is it an intelligence thing?

Our President made a series of false and misleading claims about the 2020 election and vote-counting processes early Wednesday morning.

“Millions and millions of people voted for us tonight. And a very sad group of people is trying to disenfranchise that group of people and we won’t stand for it,” Trump said.

Across the country, election officials are processing and tabulating valid ballots.

"We're winning Pennsylvania by a tremendous amount of votes," Trump said. “We're winning Michigan by — I'll tell you, I looked at the numbers, I said, 'Whoa.' I looked, I said, 'Wow that's a lot.' By almost 300,000 votes and 65 percent of the vote is in. And we're winning Wisconsin.”

The winner in Pennsylvania is still undetermined at this writing, 3:45pm in CA. Michigan and Wisconsin have been declared winners for Biden.

"This is an embarrassment to our country. We were getting ready to win this election, frankly we did win this election," Trump added.

I am not totally sure which country Trump is talking about.

"So we'll be going to the U.S. Supreme Court. We want all voting to stop. We don't want them to find any ballots at 4:00 in the morning and add them to the list, OK?"

Again, I have no idea what Trump is talking about. Clearly, he has no concept as to how elections are held in our country. The statement is misleading. The President cannot directly appeal to the Supreme Court for relief; litigation will need to be move through the federal court system before it can be appealed to the nation’s highest court. Moreover, voting has finished, as well, and there’s no evidence that votes will be added.

In fact, there is no evidence of fraud, period. We know this because Trump has never provided any.

    https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/20...llions-votes-trump-falsely-claims-he-n1246336

I have no idea how any American could vote for this man, and we will never find out. Why? Trump's supporters never discuss what Trump says. They are too embarrassed.

If Biden wins, and it is looking like he will, I am reasonably certain Trump will not concede. Being the natural jerk that he is, he will drag this out until Jan. 20.

And it won't matter one bit what he does or says.

We all need to keep that in mind. I think Republicans will be glad to get rid of him. In addition to being a absolute jerk, Trump hasn't the slightest idea how the government is supposed to work. That is why he had the support of anarchists.

Absolutey right! If Biden wins, the Republican representatives and senators will uncork champagne and say: "at last, we got rid of that moron; for the next 4 years our life will now be like a walk in the park!"

The stock market has been doing very well lately. Today, the Dow is up 368 points, Nasdaq 430, and the S&P 74. The Dow closed at 27,848, close to its highest for the year.

Why is this happening? Apparently, the market is happy Trump will be gone soon. Late Wednesday, NBC News projected that former Vice President Joe Biden was the winner in Wisconsin and Michigan, both states that Trump won in the 2016 presidential election. Biden is just 17 Electoral College votes away from winning.

“Markets are reacting very positively to the fact that a great deal of the election uncertainty has passed. Not all of it, but at least the worst outcomes seem to have been avoided. Markets hate uncertainty, and this is likely to be a tailwind for a while,” said Brad McMillan, chief investment officer at Commonwealth Financial Network.

See, already the markets are not paying attention to what Trump is doing and saying.

Thank you. I did my best to tell the true story of the Trump administration, and it is highly significant that Trump's supporters were unable to respond. Even they knew what I was saying was true.

As for this writer, he delved into an issue that has bothered me since Tuesday. Trump is the worst President in modern American history, and to be quite frank, he often displayed his lack of intelligence. Also, he often displayed his paranoid schizophrenia and extreme narcissism..

This election should have been a runaway for Biden. Those who voted for Trump in 2016 because they wanted change and erroneously thought a politically naive businessman could run this government should have learned their lesson.

But they didn't! They voted for Trump again, and this election is very close.

We know Trump's followers avoided Trump, what he said and did. The answer lies in the fact that they voted for Trump only because he was a mere figurehead for conservatism. They weren't really voting for Trump. They were voting for conservatism and isolationism.

Then there is the fact that Trump's support lies with farmers, rural shopkeepers, and those without a college education. The vast majority of them have no clue as to what Trump said and did, and they didn't want to know.

That said, I don't agree with this writer's pessimism about America. The good, the knowledgeable, the informed won. The evil lost. That's all that counts.

AHABG! America Has Always Been Great!

It's all over except for the fat lady singing.

Election 2020 Live Updates: More Results Expected Today in Arizona, Georgia, Nevada and Pennsylvania

Trump got a boost in the red state of Arizona, but it is not enough. It is very likely Biden will win in AZ.

Everywhere else Trump has lost significant ground, PA, NV, and GA.

If you are a Trump supporter, read and weep.

Trump is losing, but why is he losing? This afternoon Trump proved he was worthy of losing the Presidency.

Trump stood up at the podium in the White House press room and lied his fool head off.

He used the White House briefing room to espouse claims that he is being deprived the Presidency by fraud without providing any evidence of fraud. Trump's thinks simply providing an accusation makes it true.

Trump made false claims that a count of legally cast ballots would show him winning the Presidential election. Meanwhile, Trump is losing.

"If you count the legal votes I easily win." Everyone in America with a television knows that is a lie.

"If you count the illegal votes, they can try to steal the election from us." What illegal votes? Trump does not explain or provide any proof of voter fraud. He just says it.

Trump said he was advocating for a halt in counting of "votes that came in late." Ballots postmarked Nov. 4 or after are not counted. No one knows what Trump is talking about.

    That includes Trump.

"I’ve already decisively won many critical states, including massive victories," he claimed.

True, but that is hardly the point. Trump is losing ground rapidly in PA and GA. If he loses PA, it's all over. He is losing in AZ (some media sites have declared Biden the winner in AZ) and NV, and Biden's leads are increasing. If Biden takes AZ and NV, it's all over. Congrats, President Biden.

As he lied his way through the press conference, Trump sounded very much like a desperate man.
