A strange Thanksgiving coming to California

I don't see how this could ever be enforceable. Who would have Thanksgiving outdoors even in California? Good luck:

 

Its not "enforceable" if its a private family gathering.

Feel free to allow COVID transfer from aunt Susy's kids to grandma and grandpa and uncle Bill's breathing difficulties from working on the 911 cleanup while eating in a busy dining table with 20 guests in 8 hour chow-times!

Hopefully one or two of these older or immunocompromised useless eaters who ate beyond their best working years, and the resulting inheritance will be handy for the next holiday!

People are going to celebrate how they want to celebrate. I know many people that plan to go ahead with their traditional indoor holiday event(s). What are they going to do? Have police go door-to-door? I expect more hot spots to crop up. This has been going on quite awhile and people want things to get back to normal.

Many just haven't accepted this may be our new "normal".

My family had already cancelled the big gathering. There are a number of “at risk” folks involved and we’d rather miss a big turkey dinner than attend a funeral or three

 

Mass hysteria around the country, and especially in California.

And fat ass Trump is still alive, so your point being?

 

Why is that important to me especially in this context?

Were I to lose people I personally love and care about are you suggesting that it's all good because Trump didn't die?

So if Trump is personally responsible for all those deaths -- despite all the help Dr. Death Cuomo gave him by taking out so very many senior citizens -- then Trump is also personally responsible for NINE MILLION people recovering from the Kung-Flu. Thanks Trump!

In truth it's probably been more than that as, unlike so many of our leftists, I don't morbidly run after statistics for a virus infection that is very little worse than any other form of the flu.

 

I’m suggesting... no stating that Trump being alive gives me no solace for the people I cared about who aren’t.

And if you lost your wife or parent and felt “good” because Trump didn’t die... you have some problems I don’t want to know about

 

Will be Thanksgiving as usual at my house, but if others are spared the tyranny of the green bean casserole, then COVID will have been worth it.

Health experts aren't sure why some otherwise healthy, young people are suddenly dying of Covid-19, but they do have some theories.

One theory is that some people are genetically predisposed to developing more severe cases of Covid-19 than others. For example, Philip Murphy, a biomedical researcher at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told Science Magazine's Jocelyn Kaiser that variations in a person's ACE2 gene receptor potentially "could make it easier or harder for the virus to get into lung cells."

Michael Skinner, a virologist at Imperial College London, said he believes it's "very possible that some of us could have a particular genetic makeup that makes it more likely that we will respond badly to an infection with this coronavirus."

Another theory is that some patients might have low levels of surfactant, a substance the body produces to help the lungs expand and contract, as a result of the disease. If a patient lacks an adequate amount of surfactant, their lungs will become stiff, which could explain why some patients have trouble breathing even if they're on a ventilator, CNN reports.

There's also a theory that the virus could be causing what's known as a "cytokine storm" in some young patients. The phenomenon, named after cytokine proteins which are part of the immune system, causes the immune system to overreact to an external pathogen, like a virus. The response ultimately could cause a patient's immune system to attack their lungs, causing their lungs to stop delivering oxygen to the rest of their body, and leading to respiratory failure and potentially death.
