Why do you want a Dem to govern like a Republican?

I am all for goodwill. I am against adding SC judges and adding states. However, the GOP could have started with some goodwill:
-Should have not changed SC confirmation rules to majority only.
-Should have not rammed through a SC judge two weeks before the election.
-Should have not rammed through tax cuts for the rich.
-Should have picked more moderate judges instead of RW extremists.
-Should have not punished voters in blue states trough the tax code.
-Should have not held up covid relief to punish blue state governments.
-Should have not diverted funds already confirmed for the military to build the useless wall.
-Should have not looked the other way when Trump tried to extort a foreign government to hurt his opponent.

You reap what you sow. The GOP has shown ZERO goodwill to non Trump voters. Why should Dems not return the favor, if they can? We know that if the Dems would show goodwill, it will not be returned when the GOP is again in power in the future.

Correction: It is not in the Progressive Elite DNA to seek unity.

Trump was willing to let all of the corruption of the Obama Administration fade into the past.

But it was the Dems who kept the Russian hoax going until it actually outed their own corruption. (Just like Adam Schiff wouldn't retract the lies about Bobulinski being a Russian agent which prompted him to spill his guts about the Biden Family.)

My point though is if Democrats will do their part on this forum or will they come out gloating on November 4. Which contributes very little to unifying.

Democrats will be Democrats, and Republican will be Republicans. We will never agree. But there is a moment in which rational people on each side will realize that we need to come together. Which doesn't mean, as other posters have interpreted, that we want Democrats to govern like Republicans.

Trump built his political base using racism, Birtherism. He didn't start it, but there is a historic wave of racism that started roughly 30 years ago.

"To amend (with great respect) Maya Angelou’s famous admonition, if you did not believe people the first time that they showed you who they are, you still have a chance to believe them every subsequent time that they remind you.

The fundamental premise of the slime-for-judges theory is simply no longer plausible. That theory presumes that the people who support Trump do so only provisionally and transactionally, accepting bad things because the good things that they receive in return are so, so good.

Beyond the bigotry—or, more accurately, as part of it—there is Trump’s embrace of Republicans’ longstanding efforts to disenfranchise people who might vote for Democrats. Attacking the Postal Service, disparaging mail-in voting, and everything else that Trump does serves the Republicans’ decades-long effort to continue their minority rule.

Republicans could have gotten their judges and their economic policies without continuing to support Trump (or even supporting him in the first place). Their continued support of him means that they either like his bigotry in the first instance or they want to permanently lock in their long-term policy agenda, which just so happens to have racist impacts in politics, economics, health, and every other area of life."

Whether we come together or not starts with the President leading us to that path. Around the beginning Trump showed signals that he might want to come together. Then Mitch McConnell and other ideologues stepped in. Since then, Trump has been working hard to divide us.

Trump has made it clear many times that he is only President of his supporters, and only the President of Red States.

There being real leadership at the top is not guarantee (Obama tried and failed) But if there isn't, the effort is moot.

Nope, Trump brought out the true colors of the left, most of them is a bunch of pussys who gang up on old folks eating dinner.

Republicans use the Hastert Rule. They don't expect or seek for Democrats to vote on anything. They just use the majority of the majority.

Democrats will have to do that only if Republicans try to use negotiations as delay tactics, the way they did under Obama. And, if they win the Senate, they will also do that to pass legislation that is urgent. Like the Heroes Act.

Joe isn't black, so maybe R's will be more hospitable, but I doubt they will give any Dem the light of day on any issue.
Unless it's to enrich the elected elite. Each side loves the other side when it comes to enriching those elected to serve WE THE PEOPLE.

If tRUMP wins and the House and Senate go Dem, you can bet tRUMP will come together with the Dems.
Chuck and Nancy will be tRUMPs new BFF, as he only cares for how he is perceived by those in power. He will become a Democrat, yet again.

You mean like rushing hospital ships and ventilators to NYC and LA ? Or extra aid for the wildfires?

My guess is that you would throw your coat down in a puddle for Mazie Hirono to walk on.
