After the presidential election and one candidate is declared the winner, I say anyone who riots, burns, loots, blocks traffic, harms another person, impedes commerce in any way, should be arrested and charged with insurrection.

so non-violent protest should be punished by ten years in prison?

At least you put yourself on record for suggesting that rioting, looting, and arson, are "non-violent"... So, when you've successfully defunded the police in your burb, when the angry mob comes to your residence you'll stand by proudly while they loot and burn you out. Got it.

The OP didn't say non-violent protest should be punished by ten years in prison

blocking traffic is not a violent act.

it means u simply stand or sit on the road.

but he wants people who block traffic to be charged with sedition, which brings a 10 year sentence.

Is it. And when they start pulling folks out of cars and beating them? You have a hard time with what acts constitutes violence. I suggest reading more.

Except when blocking traffic impedes commerce or endangers lives like when an ambulance with a patient is blocked from getting to a hospital.

    blocking traffic always impedes commerce.

its a form of non-violent protest and civil disobedience.

but calling it "sedition", means you want to call out the Army to arrest such people and put them in prison for 10 years.

    thats close to Fascism

AGREED! regardless of what side they are on..good luck getting libs to do this though. I mean did you see when MSNBC reported on a riot (AKA Protest in their definition) and the reporter was in front of a burning building saying "a somewhat fiery but mostly peaceful protest happening here"

No? And when the ambulance or first responders can't get through, and folks die, well, that's just what? Negligence?

Blocking people from getting to work and first responders getting to a call is reprehensible and ignorant. Stand on the sidewalk and protest all you like. And I think local police can handle making the arrests. No need for you to call on the Army.

I beg to differ. Multiple protesters have been hit by people who simply didn’t know they were there such as on highways. That just as easily could have been the innocent driver who swerved to miss the protester, crashed and died or crashed into someone else and killed others.

Doubt you would feel that way if a loved one was having a heart attack and EMS was delayed by your non-violent disobedience.

And, that actually happened in Seattle, as well as they blocked fire trucks from getting in to put out a fire, but it was a peaceful fire, we must remember that, as well as a peaceful gunshot wound.

I'm good with that. So I assume, then, that you will peacefully accept the result if Biden wins? And you will be vocally and vociferously against any from the right who demonstrate their dissent in that case?

I agree for anything violent, but blocking traffic isn't that. But if you're really up for that, then there are a whole bunch of Trump train folks who need to be arrested now. Blocking a campaign bus, a bridge, and polling places... At the very least, the last one should be arrest-worthy no matter how you feel about blocking traffic in general.

Actions do not need to be violent to cause harm. Denying others their right to travel and delaying paramedics/fire is not acceptable regardless of party.

Blocking traffic infringes on my freedoms, violates laws and could cause fatalities. Throw the book at them.
