The Election "Good News", You Say

Still waiting for a conclusion to the Presidential vote.

But there is still "Good News" at this time.

Michelle Steele beat Harley Rouda for Congress.

    Oregon's Measure 110 won.

The GOP held on to the Senate. And Mitch McConnell won too regardless of "stories". Lindsay Graham too. Discrediting the MSM, again.

Any other "Good News" ? Share here.

It aint over til the fat lady is groped by one the candidates.

Looks like a few states are close enough for contestation, which means court battles, recounts, fraud investigations and endless MSM misinformation campaigns.

    Oh, you wanted good news...?

Either way, it looks to be another 4 years without a mandate, which means a self obstructing govt. Which in the case of ours is prolly better than one thats free to screw us more.

    Oops.
Apologies for upload #1 regarding the Senate majority.
It still has not been called.
    At this moment it is
    Democrats 45
    Republicans 48

51 is usually the majority unless counting on the likes
of John (It Should Have Been ME) McCain.

    Oregon Measure 109 :woot:

    https://news.yahoo.com/oregon-become-first-state-legalize-224100063.html
Residents voted to pass Measure 109 on Election Day, allowing anyone access to the substance for therapeutic uses, even without a doctor's note. For anyone who isn't using the substance under the guidance of a therapist or other licensed facilitator, possessing psilocybin would still be considered illegal.

But in another vote, the state also decriminalized psilocybin, as did Washington D.C. As such, people who possess personal amounts (between 0.5 and 5 grams is enough for one person to trip) are considered of the lowest priority to law enforcement.

    Will The Feds interfere?
Although D.C. had pot shops, Obama never bothered his neighbors.
He sent his Federals to Oakland, California. Remember that bias?
The raids like something from the Untouchables.

Over the decades I've flipped-flopped over the legalization issue but in my mid sixties I have decided that we need to legalize marijuana across the board as it's not much -- if any -- more destructive than alcohol. It's long past time to cease putting people in prison for the stuff.

    Wrong again.
At this moment Steele is less than 1% ahead of Rouda
with some 7% left to count.

    Probably another case of

I actually liked every single one of the 9 state initiative/ referendum/ measures on my ballot. Oregonians did not propose anything really stupid or anything that handcuffed the legislature, or any major unfunded mandates or constitutional amendments that should never be in a constitution. That has never even come close to happening before. Hell often there would be like 13 of which I liked two. Matter of fact most of them that I voted for this year passed this year.

I was impressed. with the quality.

This is my last fight and I no longer have to worry about getting along in life for the next couple of years. I had a great run in the stock market under Trump and sold off my portfolio yesterday and today leaving just my original investment. Sold my house last year and banked enough money to pay my health care premiums for a few years, 10 years of rent and utilities, cremation and burial, and some short term CD's. Sold my truck this week so that is no longer extra insurance, fuel and maintenance. Been buying Gold and Silver and setting up for up coming high inflation or a major market crash.

Told my wife to check out and find what Social/ communist programs and welfare benefits we can get now that we are no longer showing income. Better that we get some of those freebies before the illegals get 'em. Some of the good tings out of the election?

    1. Most of my kids and relatives will now be on their own as they can get any help they need from Biden & Co.. They no longer need call me.

    2. Instead of wasting my money on postage and feeling guilty about supporting charities that send me those blankets, dream catchers and coins I can now concentrate on charity for me and my wife. I will forward all solicitations to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

    3. I am having cards made up to pass out to all those people on the streets who are begging for money or working in restaurants who will soon be getting $ 15 an hour jobs . "This card entitles you to one free hug". That should help them feel better about things.

Funny, how the year 2020 turned out. The people had a chance to uplift the Constitution and preserve Free speech, Freedom of the Press, Freedom of Religion, Freedom of Life, Liberty. Property & Happiness and yet over half chose the path of Socialism and communism. Y'all have any free space in Canada?

I never liked Rouda, but he was far better than the previous rep for California's 48th District, that tool Dana Rohrabacher. I lived in that district for many years. I know nothing of Steele, but she has to be better than Rohrabacher.

Actually, it's a lot less destructive than alcohol ... get drunk, get into bar fights, drive your car into a pole or into another car .... or blow some cannabis, kick back, order a pizza and watch a comedy. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

It's a plant. No one should be imprisoned over a freaking plant!

    We disagree on Rohrabacher.
Specifically, how was he a tool?
He certainly was NOT a party ideologue.

I was acquainted, met him a few times. Emailed back and forth many times. When challenged (once in person) on an issue, his eyes glazed over (I am not kidding) and he changed the subject. He did that with emailed questions as well. Obfuscated and deflected.

My brother knew him, too. They surfed at the same spot in Huntington Beach. My brother liked him.

It is just as bad at times. One of the worse fights I ever got into, on the freeway mind you, was when I was using. Got hit me with a crow bar and I just smiled at him and it scared him I think. Later that day I was in the Emergency room with broken ribs.

That's one instance. I'm glad you're okay, but what about the guy who hit you with a crowbar? Was he perhaps drunk?

Bitter? Hell no. I'm enjoying life, more now than ever, with no qualms about the future. IMO you cannot enjoy life if you have never experienced the past. Next spring. go out and find a rose bush and open a couple buds to help it bloom and you will find that it will die on the vine. The rose needs to live among the thorns and have some ashes in it's life and if it has the will it will face it's struggles and open and bloom on it's own. You can cut it's life short by cutting it's stem and bringing it into the house or you can leave it on the bush and enjoy it longer until it withers on it's own.

Am I sad. Yes. I worry about what our society has become. About one-half or more have become reliable on the other half to get them through life. If I was Trump I would paint on the sidewalk outside the White House " WELCOME BACK TO THE PLANTATION". Apparently this is what the voters wanted, so I say, "have at it."
If the masses wish to remain ignorant and head down the road of socialism/communism then let them "reap what they sow." Me? I plan not to be a planned participant of such folly.

    @MissingMayor
    @Oh Yeah

    Remember the 10th Amendment
and Health Care is NOT delegated to the Federals.

California had a MediCal system that was effective & quality
and had University Medical Schools involved.
Nice for cancer and rarer diseases.

    1964 LBJ MediCaid destroyed it.
With the blessings of the Federals, Californians now pay
more per capita for indigent Medical care at lower quality.
    How lower quality?
There are medical industries that prey on indigent medical care patients.
    Profit, not quality motivated.

Why would my health care run out? I pay out of my own pocket for Health Care to supplement my socialist heath care program. My maximum co-pay out of pocket is $3400 and that is only if I use it. If I don't use medical for any reason I don't pay nothing.
