So what? Most election results are clear within 24 hours, some are not. Some take days or weeks. How long did 2000 take? If you can't understand the legitimate reasons why this is taking longer then you should not be commenting because you clearly do not understand how your own elections work. Ignorance is a choice.
I honestly believe that many people don't know this. They are flabbergasted that states have the right to make their own election laws. Too funny. In Nevada, per state law, they receive ballots up to 10 days after election day, as long as they are postmarked properly. This isn't new or unique. It's how it's been for a very, very long time.
It happened a few miles from where I live, now. It went on for weeks and weeks, until the SCOTUS took over and gave it to Bush. It may not happen frequently, but it always can happen.
It was short. MSNBC kept it even shorter; They cut away after 30 seconds as soon as Trump began his lies about major fraud.
No, the problem is that one candidate & one party have decided that legitimate vote counting processes are illegitimate because it looks like they will lose. There is nothing here that cannot be understood with 5 minutes reading and a willingness to understand. There are a lot more postal & pre poll votes this year. Postal votes take longer to count because details need to be checked and they need to be assigned to their correct precincts etc. In many states counting of postal votes did not start until in person voting was counted. Democrats worked hard to get their people to vote before the election becaused they feared COVID would drive down in person and election day voting. In some states votes postmarked by election day may be counted up to 12 days after the election - this includes military ballots. This is why it is taking time. No big secret. None of this is special knowledge that is hard to find. None of it is anything I didn't know before the election, and lI live half way across the world. If you neither know nor understand this that is your choice. If you choose to be ignorant about your own nation then you get the responses you deserve. Personally I see no indication that you want to be informed. You seem to prefer to beleive what suits you.
Funny how the massive Democrat apparachic conspired to commit the biggest fraud in American history to keep him out of office yet Republicans elsewhere had a very successful night. Does this make sense to a normal brain?
Convenient words coming at a convenient time when the preferred candidate has become President. Your insults will put you on the ignore list, that's for starters. Also, we didn't get any of these delays in the past and everyone's talked about how mail-in voting has been done before, again there weren't these delays. You can call me ignorant all you'd like, but as an American I do not like the way the election was handled and don't appreciate it being handled this way. As Trump had said prior to the election, this is why everything should've been direct votes. So we wouldn't be here today.
Trump just rattled of a list of lies. What I did NOT hear were words like; I'm gonna fight for my position, I'm not going anywhere. Something like that. An indication of his intent to stay. His imagination was bizarre but I heard not nothing that makes me think he's gonna barricade himself in. It was just a old man, rambling on and on.
I just find it amazing that not only are people so profoundly ignorant about how their own nation's elections work, but that they can't wait to jump on the internet and display their ignorance. There is nothing here that is hard to understand and nothing that anyone who put in the slightest effort cannot understand. The way elections work in my country is considerably more complex and can take weeks for final numbers to be calculated. Further, we effectively change governments the next day, not months later. I won't accept this level of ignorance from my fellow citizens about their elections, so I see no need to accept it from Americans about theirs.
He wouldnt say that because he believes he is the president for the next 4 years already..why would he..he said he won the election
You have been given a clear and factual explanation of what is happening and why. I didn't expect you to accept it and you have not. That is on you. If you want respect then inform yourself. If you want to be treated as ignorant then don't inform yourself. Not my problem.
It's truly surprising coming from American Nationalist. He's always been very willing to understand the facts before coming to a conclusion. This imagination of how our elections work is very strange. It's made up. I even brought up 2000, and he's still pretending it never happened before. It's bizarre and completely unlike the person I've been having extremely rational discussions with for many months.
When did I pretend 2000 never happened before? I literally acknowledged that it happened. And it's not 'strange'. Have we ever heard "don't declare victory after the election" at any point prior to this? People basically laughed at Hillary for not conceding four years ago. I should know, I found it hilarious when her campaign manager was out there and not the candidate herself. I know what we all know. Prior to these elections, in the last debate this rhetoric was brought up and to me, at the time it was irrational. I couldn't have possibly foreseen that the election would stop in the middle of the night, literally in the middle of the night not like 1 AM(when Alaska is normally called.) And so while people give reasons(excuses) for it happening, anyone can pick any reason or excuse that they'd like. And as much as people don't like that, I do believe it will depress turnout in the next election. Millions will feel that their vote didn't count, so why bother? Oh, I don't mean democrats. I think Republicans will have a hard time turning out the vote.
Have you read his posts on why he thinks America should have a Fascist government? I'm not exaggerating. Search his posts with that term. Apparently he thinks a 'technical Fascist' dictatorship is consistent with the US constitution. Your view might change once you've read some of those views.
You acknowledged it and the very next post you wrote: Also, we didn't get any of these delays in the past Again, you not understanding how our elections work is your issue.
You are right. In a sense I am glad I saw Trump (for what he is); Finished. Done. Toast. But then I can understand why MSNBC did it; to prevent more lies being spread. (Or immediately counter Trump's lies.)
