If you don't like abuse of power then you should unhesitatingly agree that trump should NOT pardon himself, or make a deal with Pence to do so. After all, we have been told repeatedly that he has done nothing wrong, committed no crime, has been exonerated etc. If he does face charges after he leaves office, it will be up to Biden to decide what is in the best interests of the country. Personally, as much as I think a person should pay for their crimes, and as much as I abhor trump's personality, if i were president it would be about 50/50 whether I would pardon him. I can see that sending him to prison could really rip the country apart and it might be better for the country to pardon or more likely commute a sentence. What I hope we agree on is that he should not pardon himself.
If I was Biden, I'd just let NY take care of him. I would of course make sure that they have all the help needed of course.
Pa is little different from many states.... a few small areas with large populations, many large areas with little population. I cannot WAIT for somebody to post the US 2020 map showing us all the Red on it, like that means something... I think the Georgia map is the most interesting I've seen this year. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-elections/georgia-president-results?icid=election_usmap Obviously, you expect Atlanta and major suburbs to be blue, but what is with that swath of blue going through the middle?? EDIT - Also, note that Augusta is in the wrong county on that map... Augusta is up in the blue county on the edge of SC... D'OHHHHH
Failed is a bit harsh old bean. The British NHS has suffered years of underfunding for sure but it still functions and did not fail at the height of the first wave. It's still half the cost of the US system, higher ranked internationally and available for all. You could hurt a man's feelings using words like failed.
YES it Will. Long before January. The only real question is whether Trump will need to be dragged kicking and screaming (as soon as Biden is sworn in).
Sounds about right... unless this evil (and really stupid plan) comes to fruition SNIP The email was sent by a group called Kenosha For Trump around 5 p.m. on Thursday. "Trump Victory urgently needs volunteers to make phone calls to Pennsylvania Trump supporters to return their absentee ballots," the email read. The scheme seemed aimed to take advantage of a ruling in the state that said absentee ballots received by 5 p.m. on Friday must be counted — so long as they were properly postmarked by Election Day. "This seems deeply stupid as it seems to be a solicitation to commit voter fraud," Richard Hasen, an elections law specialist, told the Journal Sentinel. "It's hard to believe this is real." ENDSNIP https://www.yahoo.com/news/wisconsin-republicans-caught-apparently-encouraging-141226986.html I'm fully convinced that a lot of Americans truly have no idea what the word "postmarked" means
I've no idea how many of these types there are in the US. Are you unfamiliar with the general category? The so-called Prosperity Theology? According to Wikipedia, not to be confused, God-Forbid, with the Gospel of Wealth, eh? (Gotta wonder sometimes about some stuff in the Wikipedia) Apparently it's quite a few folks that are into it. Just around the corner from where I live these days is Lakewood Church. Once upon a time it was called the Summit and was the home of the Houston Rockets Basketball games and quite a few of what I expect were excellent concerts. I saw Clapton play there, but wasn't real happy with the show. He had a choir as well as a String section both of which were woefully inadequately miced. Saw Prince there 1998/12/31 and that show sucked as well. The Lakewood Church draws rave crowds though. Imagine that, "Christians" flocking to hear the New Testament, and the Old, re-interpreted like some Iron Chef challenge, so that, in fact, the Rich ride in their Bently's right through the Pearly Gates, along the way having run over a camel trying to enter Heaven through the eye of a needle.
It has to be determined by December when the electors cast their ballots. In reality it will be over in a few days.
If the commandments say 'thou shalt not kill' how come they're not all vegetarians? I have seen Led Zeppelin live on nine occasions, although never in a basketball stadium.
How did someone screw that up? Kinda makes me wonder just a bit if they've shaded the county results properly. And no label for Savannah? C'mon Man!
I predict we'll know today. Since there is zero evidence of any fraud whatsoever, Trump's court cases will be summarily dismissed.
The only one I've seen that might have a chance is the 3 day extension to receive and count in PA... Alito seems to think that argument has some merit. If it wasn't for the USPS telling PA they may not be able to deliver ballots on time, it would be a problem (and it wouldn't have happened anyway) Also, since all ballots in PA received after election day are separated, it will be easy to subtract them if the decision goes for the suppressors...
Mine didn't, but I've counseled enough kids who did go thru it and I sorta thought the same thing as to how similar it is. In some ways, being a teacher during this election is kinda nice because I've been so busy organizing and adapting lesson plans to distance learning ideals plus all the extra work that is coming with it that I've been too busy to look up and deal with all the chaos happening everywhere else. I actually had a kid commend me on being so calm dealing with all the election coverage - I didn't tell him I was so serene about it because I haven't had the time to look at what's going on! I guess ignorance really IS bliss! I dunno if anyone else has noticed this, but all the teachers that post on PF have significantly reduced their posting or been largely absent for months now - that should tell you something!
What I noticed is that 95-99% went quite fast and 99% took forever. It's still at 99%. Why, are they stopping the counting or what?
Yes. My friend knows Bill Curbishley the now manager of the remaining guys from Zep. I persuaded him to get a ticket for my brother and I for the gift of a digital radio (plus the cost of the tickets obviously) because I entered the ballot numerous times without success. The O2 arena is about ten minutes from my home. So my brother and I saw their 'last' performance at Knebworth in 1979, and we were able to go again in '07.
Dude that tweet is made up. It's pretty obvious. Either way, giving us back kosovo would not break UN law because under it it belongs to us in first place But lets not argue about that in this thread.
It's good to see so many people starting to take an interest in how our elections work! Yes. We count ALL the votes, even if we know the winner. Many states aren't done, yet. Cali is at 70% ish, Oregon at 80% something. We count ALL the votes. Always. Sometimes it takes weeks.
