He's tied, inextricably to the green new deal, something that Kamala toe and the youth squad all will now be pushing, which btw includes language about population sustainability. So, when government comes to tell you that you had too many kids, and off to the government health services you go, you'll remember your unwillingness to understand what you voted for this week. Hmm.. guess you still won't read the proposal. It is interesting that when folks like me use killer nicknames for democrats, suddenly you don't like the pet names attributed to them. Kamala Toe could just as easily be knee pads, lots of sources.. And the kiddie squad could just as easily be referred to as the international interlopers. American Isis... Endless monikers. So, no, I don't require an ad hom to ridicule the green movement. We certainly don't because we actually have the science. And the science simply doesn't support your beliefs. Sorry. Sometimes, as you suggest folks need to grow up. So, don't preclude your own behavior for future improvement.

Its not popular in Portugal. The mandatory treatment is expensive and usually takes longer than a jail sentence. And if you don't go or pay then you get full time in jail anyways.

The measure reclassified personal/non-commercial drug possession offenses. Possession of a controlled substance in Schedule I-IV, such as heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamines, was reclassified from a Class A misdemeanor to a Class E violation resulting in a $100 fine or a completed health assessment. Individuals who manufacture or distribute illegal drugs are still subject to a criminal penalty. The Oregon Criminal Justice Commission estimated that convictions for possession of a controlled substance would decrease by 3,679 or 90.7%.

The health assessments are conducted through addiction recovery centers and include a substance use disorder screening by a certified alcohol and drug counselor. Health assessments must be completed within 45 days of the violation.

And then you hide behind the paradigm that it's a group protection, when in reality it is still government forcing you to be vaccinated. Which means government is forcing you to be vaccinated. It isn't a choice, and given your predilections it won't ever be a choice. Why? Because you demand that government protect you.

And once government has this "right" to force you to do something, where does the line for that force stop? I submit that any future requirements will be justified using your own argument. For my protection. Ok, so what if I decide that government has to protect me from harming the environment and forces a one child policy? What then? How else do you achieve that without forced abortion or sterilization? You can hem and haw about it all you want, but the choice and the precedent have already been established. And population sustainability? I'm all for ZPG. It's a good idea and overdue. But it's not in the GND.

The war on drugs has been a complete failure. It's far better to offer better rehabilitation than lock someone up for personal amounts of heroin. In my opinion, drugs should be heavily taxed and illegal dealers prosecuted.

America’s decades-long war on drugs has failed, simultaneously causing huge harms — fueling drug-related violence around the world and funneling millions of people into jails and prisons — and not preventing drug epidemics, including the worst overdose crisis in US history with the opioid epidemic. But now Oregon has declared a truce of sorts, and it’s showing the rest of the US what an end to the drug war might look like.

On November 3, Oregon voters elected to decriminalize all drugs, including heroin and cocaine, so possessing small amounts of these substances no longer carries the threat of jail or prison time. The state’s voters also approved another ballot measure to legalize psilocybin, the main psychoactive compound found in magic mushrooms, in supervised therapeutic settings. Oregon voters had previously legalized marijuana for recreational and medical purposes, but it’s the first state in modern American history to legalize psilocybin and decriminalize some drug possession.

This amounts to a fundamental rejection of America’s modern war on drugs. The central pillar of the country’s drug war is criminal prohibition — even simple possession of illegal substances carries the threat of jail or prison time. Oregon is chipping away at that regime, if not dismantling it entirely: Drug possession no longer carries the threat of incarceration, and some drugs are even allowed for therapeutic or purely recreational purposes.
