Interest article on National Review discussing and column in Commentary about "The Chump Effect" which is basically when the political body favors certain groups. For every favored group there will be the chumps. As the example paragraph explains

"The political implications of the Chump Effect are obvious: Meigs begins with the story of a man who asked Elizabeth Warren if he, who scrimped to put his child through college, would be entitled to a refund under her proposed new system to forgive student loans. “Of course not,” was Warren’s response. The man was furious: He was being made a chump. Elites such as Warren blithely ignore the anger they generate among people who dutifully follow the rules every time they suggest a carve-out for whatever politically powerful group they seek to appease and flatter. “You’re laughing at me,” the man told Warren. In effect, she was, by suggesting a large class of people be rewarded for indolence, lack of discipline, poor planning, and miscalculating the cost-to-benefit ratio of higher education. A society that creates favored groups is a society that creates chumps, and a society of chumps is an angry society."
    https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/the-chump-effect/

And "chumps" is exactly how the Democrats view the over 70,000,000 who voted for Trump. Those of you who saved to pay for college HA you were chumps. Those who saved for retirement, sorry that's not fair to those who didn't your the chumps. So how angry will the Chumps get as in the gentleman above and let's not forget Joe the Plumber, this is not new, who did the right thing only to find out that doing the wrong thing would have served him better and perhaps his child could have gone to an even better college. How about all the business owners when a Joe Biden and a Treasury Secretary Warren proclaim THEY are making too much money and they are going to take it and give it to their favored class. How about when the Trump tax rates are repealed the first day. When their good employer based health insurance is no longer available because the few wanted a health insurance policy, HA what chumps.

What will we see in the mid-terms.

Trump's tax cuts were an act of Congress. Biden can't repeal them without passing a bill through the very likely GOP majority Senate.

The OP has obviously failed to appreciate that the biggest LOSER*-in-Chief has played ALL of his supporters for CHUMPS.

    Sad!

How is that Wall that Mexico paid for doing? The “better” health care that was going to be introduced day one? Where are the millions of promised jobs? And the latest chump scam - donate to the Trump fund to fight the election result only you have to give thousands of dollars to actually get any money to that endpoint

OP: Ok, so you've presented one half of the story. Who are Republican chumps?

Haha, as if only Republicans save for college and for retirement. It's the same B$ as the posters peddle who tell people to "get a job" when they advocate for unemployment insurance or universal health care.

I tell you, though, who the REAL chumps are. Those are the ones who want to receive the government benefits, but don't want to pay for them through taxes. Or, better, they offload the tax burdens to future generations. Those ones are also frequently called deadbeats.

Of course you realize that the tax cuts expire for most people in 2005.

I don’t understand the mentality of being angry that someone might end up having it easier than yourself. Reeks of “Screw you, I got mine.”

I’ve got the GI bill for school. I wouldn’t be upset if other people were able to attend college for free.

So lower income people who don't want to pay taxes but do received a myriad of government benefits are chumps? I think you got it backwards the ones who pay them would be the chumps, you know like the top 1% who pay for 40% of income taxes.

I just found out what a chump I am by reading Biden's plan for social security. Ain't nothing in it for me and the highest earners get burned. I can well imagine when they start to means test and cut back my benefit because I saved up a big nest egg and they will say that hey you don't really need SS so we are cutting your benefit amount.

Yes because not enough Democrats supported the original bill so it came under the required 10 year sunset. You realize the Dems could vote to make them permanent and the Republicans would be all on board.

Which is exactly why the Republicans need to win a seat in the GA runoffs.

That would mean that the tax cuts were passed in 2015?

Excuse my typo in #7 2025 not 2005

Certainly for anyone supporting the two major parties, but what can you do? Until we have a better voting system like ranked choice I’ll be voting for harm reduction.

Then how do you explain California? Are those making less than $140k better off under Democrat control?

Dunno, have you used unemployment, SNAP, medicaid or rental assistance when your job vanished?
West Virginia a red state you have to make over 120k a year to get full unemployment benefits. Which is only 300-400 a week if you lost your job due to covid, in Cali you only had to have made 40k a year to get full benefits.
    Does that answer your question?

    That doesn't sound right.

    https://workforcewv.org/images/files/employers/UC_Benefits_Poster.pdf

Speaking of unemployment and jobs vanishing, CA continues to chase businesses to more tax friendly states. CA is under Dem super majority control and the gap between the rich and poor is huge with few left in the middle. We are the poverty capitol of the US and many cities were on the brink of insolvency before Covid.

Are there any chumps in CA?

What on earth are you talking about, they pay SS contributions on the first 137,700K of earned income and see a negative return on your contributions while those at the bottom see a return especially those who claim the EITC.

    Nope!

YOUR biggest LOSER*-in-Chief played them for chumps by making promises that he had no intention of actually delivering on.

    https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/trumpometer/

Just to pick an example at random has he locked up Hillary or are his kids doing exactly the same thing that Hillary did?
