When you have progessives like Harris, Sanders and AOC calling for a green energy solution, defunding police forces, open borders, free college education and medicare for all which are all very socialist ideas how then is the word socialist an insult to people who want socialist programs? Democratic Socialist are what progressive refer to themselves as.

I've heard an interview with a farmer on NPR, of course a Trumpist, and he credited Trump for the tariffs (which hurt his business), and for getting him government money to make him whole. That same guy would have cried "socialism" if someone else would get his "hard earned" tax dollars. These guys don't even know how much of hypocrites they are.

Now that Trump is out, watch the return of these people to the Tea party, becoming fiscal hawks again, with the deficit becoming number one priority. They are SO predictable.

 

That's a good point. The US didn't fund development of the vaccine, they signed a contract over $1.95 billion for 50 million doses before the end of 2020, which then will be provided free of charge to the American people. That is American people who don't live in NY state, because Trump wants to punish them for what their governor said.

Of course, the part that two of the front running vaccines were developed by German firms is mostly left out in the Trump MAGA speeches.

Republicans have a history of running up massive debt when in office and then acting as if debt is the great moral crisis of the age whenever they are out of office. The only thing more disgraceful than that is that their supporters enable them rather tha ncalling them on it.
