Team Trump supporters believe that they are trying to get the election results reversed for four more years. That's not the case, if it were they would have asked for a recount in Pennsylvania and they didn't and the final date to request one has passed. Without Pennsylvania they'd have to overturn the votes in 5 other states to win. What stopped them? In PA the requester has to pay all costs if it doesn't affect the outcome. That's going to run into millions of Dollars. So why pursue the shotgun of court cases in PA since if they won all if them, unlikely at best, they'd still be no where near reversing the vote? Ego. Pure and simple. Team Trump needs to feed him and his fanatics something so they can convince themselves that they were somehow robbed.
Of all the theories I've read, it makes the most sense that he's relying on his base for donations to feed into the party's coffers. That, and it's his M.O. to keep the nation divided with toxicity and dysfunction.
Of course but with a minor variation. The fundraising site for the legal defense is going 40% into RNC coffers and 60% into a new PAC created by Trump, Save America, which is a "Leadership" PAC. Leadership PACs are allowed to be used for Trump's personal expenses. Also the setup is such that until the $5000 per donation legal limit for a donation to that PAC is reached and the subsequent $3300 donation to the RNC not one dime from his legal defense fundraising site will actually go to that fund. Unless donors give more that $8K at a time it is possible that the legal defense fund could actually get zero.
You can be sure that anything trump does is purely to benefit himself. He won’t waste time helping the repubs now, so if we want to understand what he’s doing, think like a malignant narcissist. I suspect that he’s playing the mafia don and using the threat of turning his cult against them that keeps repub toadies kowtowing to him. The more they bend over for him now, the worse it will be for them later as trump grabs them tighter by the shorthairs. They have let trump soil their party by dragging them into his sewer. I know I can't prove it but I've always said he's probably raking in at least 1M a day as president and nothing anyone says will change my mind.
Trump is only seeking ONE “I was right” court decision, and he knows said decision will not give him the presidency. He’ll then go back to his base with a “huge win” in quotation. That is it! Folks, remember what I just said.
Recounting fraudulent ballots will obviously change nothing. The matter and the evidence of massive fraud will be dealt with in courts. Besides PA's leftist secretary of state has declared that there'd be no recount. He will stay relevant, in fact hugely relevant. And not burdened by the constraints of his office he will continue making the left totally miserable... and Biden will remain an illegitimate lame duck President that he is.
