Update; (will this nightmare never end?)

Its been chaos since court day. His new sr cellphone I got him mysteriously stopped working. Took it T Mobile and they said it had been submerged in water. Not just dropped, but stayed there awhile. Same night that happened, his gas heater in the den was turned on, but not lit. Thankfully he had also turned gas off at the wall... I watched him do it the nite before. So yesterday was a biotch. I did call the cops and wanted to press chgs but waited for 4 hrs and finally cancelled call and took him home with me. Dad did NOT want me to pursue chgs. So hes back home... i went by earlier and the crack ho isnt there but her black bf was asleep in 'their' room. Come tuesday at 5:01 pm they have to have all their stuff & them gone. She still says shes not leaving. Stepsis will be here early Wed morning.. we plan to have her taken out, pack her stuff in trash bags and set on the curb. It aint over yet!

This is why I never let anyone I know even crash at my house "for a few days". Once you let them in the door, the law is one their side. It takes a minimum of two months in our area to get the sheriff to come remove them. 30 days notice, two to three weeks to a court hearing and then they get another 10 days before you can get the sheriff to even schedule the curbing, and that all assumes they don't appeal their eviction in which case you get to add 2-3 more months to it. I know one person it took them almost two years to get rid of a deadbeat tenant because they waited until the day before they were to be curbed and filed bankruptcy.

Does that mean you can move to Italy and have full citizenship? That is pretty cool.

Would the bf have to show proof of residence or could he have been arrested for trespass? Just a thought. What will happen if they don't leave after the deadline?
Might be a good idea to check your Father's bank account.

I don't participate in this thread, much. Maybe I'll start.

2020 is the gift that keeps on giving. 30 named hurricanes this year. We crushed the old record of 28, in 2005.

Hurricane season is over, but nobody told the hurrcanes. Nicaragua will get a cat 4 tomorrow.

    Another hurricane is possible.

    Mid-November. Sheesh

(PS. My husband is a hurricane expert; so I get this info nonstop.)

'Tis the one of the few things I miss since I left Chicago. In South Florida, we get very few days where we get to open the wndows.

We rarely get 40s, but when we do, during a cold snap, we close the windows and throw extra blankets on the bed. We cherish those days.

There's no turning on the heater, unless it's an emergency. That awful smell!!!!

Well, I've been working from home for 20 years. My husband's company sent him home in March, and the new guess as to when they return is July.

We've got record number of people in the hospital right now, with COVID. Close to 80,000.

I went through there once. I did a dine and dash at a restaurant in Key West. Went all through the Keys and up the West Coast. Down the east coast and up the west.

Well, me and dad finally ran the squatters off. She was ordered to be out by 5:01 pm. I got there about 4 and she was frantically packing stuff in the living room. We screamed insults to each other for a couple of hrs til they removed most and started packing more. I said its time to go several times and they kept gatherin stuff... so I picked up the phone and faked calling 911. Explained the situation and added 'I think they may be armed!' She screamed like a banshee at her bf 'Did you hear what she said? Shes going to prison for lying to the cops!' Soon as they took out the next load I slammed the door and locked it. They screeched outta that driveway like Batman & Robin... leaving a full load of clothes in the washer and a dryer full of stuff we'll set out on the curb. Soon as I go file a $175 Writ of Possession to get rid of whats left.

I went thru a mean spell around 9th grade. Thug was the term. Ran with a mean group of girls and terrorized other girls. Next yr I was in HS and all the rest of 'my gang' had dropped out or moved away. So I wasnt so tough anymore. Tonights encounter brought back memories of throwing straight pins in victims hair in Home Ec so they walked down the hall shedding pins... and we laffed and laffed.

Tonight I was in the 9th grade again.

"Get outta my dads house you trashy b!"

    ;)

Well, congratulations to you! The person seems like a Pacific Heights style renter. Nobody deserves that.

For sure, though, I understand your mean streak. ;)

There's only one road in The Keys - US 1. There's no East/West coast driving. You're on the bay side, heading South, and the Atlantic side, heading North.
