I am not in favor of any progressive controlled agenda. My political views range from conservative to some that others may see as "progressive". I do not like over spending, crazybassed deficits, too big of a government, too liberal social policies. What I like is a strong defense, a vigorous trade policy and keeping out allies with us not only in a military alliance but economically and focused on our two major enemies China and Russia. I want us to take a hard stand against China and Russia in their attempts to gain economic and military upper hand. I do not want go go to war but Inwant us to be ready tomand for our enemies go believe that we will go to war. I believe that we need to conduct an aggressive but stealth cyber war and a very aggressive intelligence war.

Sounds good but after Antony Blinken's name there was no race or gender identifier like there was after Thomas-Greenfield's name .......that's pathetic..

I'm predicting a voice confirmation so none of the Republicans have to publicly vote for or against and since it's the one who would be most pressured to vote no gets to demand a vote by acclimation it will be so.

Bolton has his own interests as first objective. If he gave a crap about the country, he would have testified during the impeachment process instead of keeping his mouth shut and waiting for the book deal. Bolton is nothing but a phony patriot.

Just what you told me here:
Robert Gates wrote that Biden "has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades." and from what you're telling me, he's picking a guy for Sec. of State that was right there alongside him, being wrong about nearly everything, for about half that time. That's not encouraging.

Yes, I suppose I should be grateful he's not taking the insane Elizabeth Warren approach of making sure his cabinet picks first win the approval of a 'young trans person'.

I think his getting a cabinet approved by the Senate is going to be more challenging than many dems have yet considered. Dems voted nearly unanimously against most of President Trump's selections, and I fully expect Senate Republicans to return that particular 'favor'. If Republicans win one or both Georgia seats, I'll encourage Senator Mitch McConnell to bring back the 60-vote rule for cabinet nominations, you know, just to make sure they've got broad bi-partisan support.

I predict that a whole lot of Republicans are relishing the opportunity to vote against a Dem president's cabinet picks for purely partisan reasons just like the dems did in 2017. Your side has made a candidates' qualifications a distant secondary concern to a candidates' politics, and I expect that Republicans will operate within that framework which dem senators established during President Trump's administration.

Yes I agree that Bolton should have testified just to make a point but I do not think that it would have made any diferrence because those Senators who were afraid to vote guilty still would not have voted to remove that sluge bucket from office.

His first picks have been vetted and some multiple times. He’s presupposing Republican’s are going to try and delay all of his picks. That tactic is transparently partisan in most cases but it’s more difficult if they’ve previously confirmed them.

It didn't seem very difficult at all for dem senators Manchin and Kaine to vote to confirm Amy Coney Barrett in 2017 and then against her confirmation in 2020. I'm not sure you've realized the extent to which rampant partisanship has overtaken the Senate. Qualifications don't matter anymore. Previous votes for a nominee don't matter anymore. Senators vote against well-qualified people they've previously supported simply because they don't like their politics. I'd argue that this trend was started by the democrats, but either way, it's a reality now.

That was a revenge vote because Moskva Mitch would not even let Obama's nominee get a hearing even though there were 7-8 months left in Alana's term.

And now you're going to see a lot of "revenge votes" for the behavior of dems during President Trump's administration.
