Well, I'm different. I've never liked Trump, didn't care that he was president, but after the attempted extortion of a foreign government, I knew he was a dangerous man with this power. He had to go. And he's gone.

I've always liked Joe Biden. I like him for the same reasons I liked GHW Bush. Unlike some here, I think he's going to have a successful administration. Trump will be an afterthought. The country is done with governance by pop culture. Ivanka and Jr. will be regular guests on The View. Nobody is going to vote for them.

I also believe Biden will have a good presidency. Whether it reaches George HW Bush status, remains to be seen. If all he accomplishes is lowering the temperature, while being a good diplomat and administrator, it will have been a success.

Keep in mind that when I say I don't like {insert lifetime politician name, here}, it's because they are all corrupt, to one degree or another. They all vote, in a heartbeat, to take away our freedoms, to give themselves more power. Biden may be on the "good" end of that corruption thermometer, but he's still of the swamp. They all are.

I agree about Trump, too. I didn't vote against him in '16, because no single person can destroy the country, or so I thought. Perhaps both parties will consider not putting up such divisive candidates anymore.

Agree 100%, but I have found a silver lining.

As bad as these Republicans are, had they done the right thing on impeachment, they would have become immediate mortal enemies of Trump's base, primary challenges would have been successful, and though Biden would still be president-elect, the House and Senate may have become littered with QAnon candidates (more so than now.)

I'm just surmising, here, but I think Mitch et al may feel relieved to have someone they like in the WH. Trump was a means to an end. They have their court, so check that off the bucket list. Now they have someone calm and moderate in the WH. They can work with that. They won't have to be constantly on alert to go make a positive spin out of some random tweet on a moment's notice, anymore.
