Isn't That self defeating?? Perhaps we should wait and see what happens under Biden before predicting things.

The one concern that comes to mind is that Trump might keep trying to sabotage Biden's administration . Hope I am wrong......but his behavior and personality suggests that kind of behavior. He is a tad too vindictive.......When he really does not have to be. He has a lot of support in the country....... and that should be gratifying.

Anyhow.....he did a fine job pardoning the Turkey. Now we will see who else he pardons.

I would beg to differ. Biden received 94% of the vote from Democrats or those who identify themselves as Democrats. Trump also received the identical 94% from Republicans or those who affiliate themselves with the Republican Party. Now the non-affiliated, those who don't identify with either party, I would call them the people who aren't tied to either the R and or the D, more or less free agents and freer thinkers, they went to Biden 54-41 over Trump.

    https://www.cnn.com/election/2020/exit-polls/president/national-results

Besides, when Trump became president, he became the establishment. The big difference between 2016 and 2020 was the non-affiliated, independent vote. Trump won them 46-42 over Hillary in 2016 with 12% voting third party against both major party candidates. They fled Trump in 2020.

It wasn't so much Trump's policies or stances on issues, the non-affiliated, independents were fairly divided on those. For some, against some, indifferent to others. It came down to Trump's personality, his very uncouth and childish behavior. After four years of that grating on them, they left him.

One can see why. PERSONALITY is quite important in a leader , particularly one of this stature . Frequently his personality over rode his policies .......and a true leader has to have the skills (verbal etc) to be able to "sell" his policies. Diplomacy requires tact, verbal skills, finesse, and a certain panache.

President Trump’s decision to mislead the public about the severity of the crisis, his failure to listen to scientists about how to keep Americans healthy, and his refusal to implement a coordinated national plan to stop the coronavirus have all contributed to devastating results. 12,909,344 cases and 265,484 deaths, still you are saying that it's not bad as everyone says?

Exactly. What's strange is independents being fairly evenly split on Trump's policies, they gave him a 55% approval on the economy, but only a 44% overall job approval. There's certainly a disconnect there. I wonder if Trump had a personality of a Reagan or a Bill Clinton, even an Obama and acted like a president, behaved in a more adult fashion than resorting to childish antics like name calling and throwing temper tantrums if he might have cruised to or been reelected. To this question, 52. Trump Likability Regardless of whether you agree with him, do you like or dislike Donald Trump as a person? Only 25% of independents answered they like Trump a lot or somewhat to 57% who disliked Trump a lot or somewhat as a person.

    https://docs.cdn.yougov.com/jsojry0vph/econTabReport.pdf

That I think explains why independents voted for Biden by a 54-41 margin. History shows folks usually don't vote for someone they dislike unless they disliked both candidates like in 2016. Then they vote for the candidate they dislike the least.

did you really write that after wat DC did to Trump and anyone associated with him? False investigations, digging up stuff from decades ago just looking for anything to implicate people. No US citizen should ever go through what that man did

With due respect: Trump is NOT the victim you seem to think he is. He has done his share of degrading and victimizing.

Remember how Obama was criticised?? (and the birther crap from Trump) How he was obstructed!! The difference is that he handled it a lot more maturely and professionally. Trump is too thin skinned for the jb. and too temperamental. Whatever good ideas he might have had...... were drowned out by his personal behavior.
Not to worry: Trump will get his revenge , one way or antoehr.......and if it hurts Biden........even better. He has sent out emails........requesting contributions. The fineprint says that a certain percentage goes to him. He apparently is in debt....... and will be facing serious legal problems...... so his post POTUS time will present challenges for him....We have not heard the last of him. .. .Part of his legacy will be the volumes of rage Tweets he has created.;-)

He won't go to jail. He's old enough that he'll be able to drag any court cases out until he dies. He may not have any money in the end but he'll still get a nice funeral.

It's not really that big a deal if you think about it. As president, if you select the right kind of department heads who honor and respect their oath to the Constitution there isn't really a lot left that's falling on your shoulders. It's when someone like trump only has people who have taken an oath to him that you have what we've experienced; a country run amuck. If trump would have truly had the right people working for him he could have played golf every day and come out looking like a champion.

were investigations launched against anyone associated with "the one" ? How can you agree with the US government investigating people, going back decades, in the hopes of finding something?

How can you agree with a complicit media who followed along with Democrats over the false Russia investigation? The Democrats knew that it was false

This was all to hurt the elected POTUS. Who cares if you like him or not, nobody should be subjected to that.

I feel bad for you that you have been so programmed to hate the "other side" and a man who you don't even know. I never hated and frankly could care about Obama. I applaud him and Michelle for the windfall of money they now have as they did as they were told, and are now wealthy. He did what he needed to do to improve the lifestyle of his friends and family. Shame on us if we thought he was something other than that.

It's easy for him. He will tweet on Twitter in a provocative way and the media that hates him will keep him in the top headlines, not Biden oder Harris. If the Republicans can manage to hold the senate and turn Biden/Harris in lame ducks from scratch, Biden/Harris will have a zough time to be even heard.

You are assuming that Mitch likes Trump and doesn't like Biden.

We already know Mitch & Biden are friends. Mitch knows Biden is a moderate.

I strongly suspect there is no love for Trump in the Senate. He was a means to an end.

DC hated him because he jeopardized their gravy train. Remember, left side of the aisle or right side of the aisle, they all enter and remain in the "same ship". It's in the interest of political hacks to come together and rail against anyone who would expose them for the incompetent fools they are.

I am sorry that you feel you have to make it "personal". It is just a discussion about politics. I feel sorry for trump. as he does not know his limitations or his character flaws. He lives in a delusional world that has been created for him since he was young. (about his superiority and exceptionalism). His narcissism is to a pathological degree but We might just have to agree t o disagree. about some things ......but respectfully ;-)

Time and history will clarity perspectives about the man.........as his legacy will be more defined.

Except he never did expose them, did he?

During his first year, I was hopeful that he would be as promised. It become more and more clear, though, that he didn't want to actually learn the job. He fired anyone who gave an alternate point of view and filled the WH with yes men.

    He's entirely incompetent.

What's he doing now? His biggest accomplishment since election day is the annual turkey pardon.

It is most troubling that he continues to undermine democracy. He is so focused on trying to overturn the election that he is neglecting all other aspects of his job. Isn't that how authoritarian leaders of some backward nations behave??? He never seems to learn that the nation comes first. He was to be there for the people as elected by the people To him it is one great ego inflating power trip.
He has avoided reading his daily briefings and it seem s that it is because he doe snot understand them. & did not have the patience to learn.

Mind you Pardoning the Turkey might be his level of competence.;-)

Many administrations pardon people. Here's a list (long one) of the last admin's pardons that include a convicted mail in voter fraud felon.

A pardon is a pardon. Many Presidents pardon tons and tons of people. It's always been that way
